1Hear the word that the Lord hath spoken concerning you, O ye children of Israel: concerning the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying:
1ชาวอิสราเอล จงฟังถ้อยคำนี้ที่พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวโทษพวกคุณ กล่าวโทษทั้งตระกูลที่เราพาออกมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ว่า
2You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore will I visit upon you all your iniquities.
2“ในบรรดาตระกูลทั้งหมดบนแผ่นดิน เราเลือกเพียงพวกคุณ เพราะฉะนั้น เราจะลงโทษพวกคุณเพราะบาปทั้งหมดของพวกคุณ”
3Shall two walk together except they be agreed?
3ถ้าไม่ได้ตกลงกันไว้ คนสองคนจะเดินไปด้วยกันได้หรือ?
4Will a lion roar in the forest, if he have no prey? will the lion’s whelp cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
4ถ้าไม่มีเหยื่อ สิงโตจะคำรามในพุ่มไม้หรือ? ถ้าจับอะไรไม่ได้เลย สิงโตหนุ่มจะร้องจากถ้ำหรือ?
5Will the bird fall into the snare upon the earth, if there be no fowler? Shall the snare be taken up from the earth, before it hath taken somewhat?
5ถ้าไม่มีใครวางบ่วงไว้ให้มัน นกจะตกในกับดักบนพื้นดินได้หรือ? ถ้าไม่มีอะไรให้จับ บ่วงจะดีดขึ้นจากพื้นหรือ?
6Shall the trumpet sound in a city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, which the Lord hath not done?
6เมื่อเสียงแตรเตือนดังขึ้นในเมือง ผู้คนจะไม่กลัวหรือ? ถ้าพระยาห์เวห์ไม่ได้ทำให้เกิด ภัยร้ายจะเกิดกับเมืองได้หรือ?
7For the Lord God doth nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.
7พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ ย่อมไม่ทำสิ่งใด หากไม่เปิดเผยความลับแก่ผู้เผยคำพยากรณ์ ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์
8The lion shall roar, who will not fear? The Lord God hath spoken, who shall not prophesy?
8สิงโตคำรามแล้ว ใครจะไม่กลัว? พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ กล่าวแล้ว ใครจะอดกล่าวคำพยากรณ์ได้เล่า?
9Publish it in the houses of Azotus, and in the houses of the land of Egypt, and say: Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the many follies in the midst thereof, and them that suffer oppression in the inner rooms thereof.
9จงประกาศในพระราชวังที่อัชโดด และในพระราชวังแห่งแผ่นดินอียิปต์ จงกล่าวว่า “มารวมกันบนภูเขาทั้งหลายในสะมาเรีย ดูความวุ่นวายที่มีอยู่ในเมือง และการกดขี่ที่เกิดขึ้นท่ามกลางผู้คน”
10And they have not known to do the right thing, saith the Lord, storing up iniquity, and robberies in their houses.
10พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “พวกเขาทำสิ่งที่ถูกต้องไม่เป็นเลย พวกที่สะสมทรัพย์สินที่ปล้นและแย่งชิงมาไว้ในพระราชวังของตน”
11Therefore thus saith the Lord God: The land shall be in tribulation, and shall be compassed about: and thy strength shall be taken away from thee, and thy houses shall be spoiled.
11เพราะฉะนั้น พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ กล่าวว่า “ศัตรูจะเข้ายึดแผ่นดิน ทำลายที่มั่นของพวกคุณ ป้อมปราการของพวกคุณจะถูกปล้น”
12Thus saith the Lord: As if a shepherd should get out of the lion’s mouth two legs, or the tip of the ear: so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria, in a piece of a bed, and in the couch of Damascus.
12พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “เหมือนคนเลี้ยงแกะที่ช่วยกู้ขาสองข้าง หรือหูชิ้นหนึ่งออกจากปากสิงโต ชาวอิสราเอลที่นั่งในสะมาเรียตรงมุมเก้าอี้นอน และบนเบาะผ้าไหมของเตียง ก็จะได้รับการช่วยกู้เช่นนั้น”
13Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord the God of hosts:
13“จงฟังและเป็นพยานกล่าวโทษตระกูลยาโคบ” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าแห่งกองทัพทั้งหลาย กล่าว
14That in the day when I shall begin to visit the transgressions of Israel, I will visit upon him, and upon the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altars shall be cut off, and shall fall to the ground.
14“ในวันที่เราลงโทษอิสราเอลเพราะความผิดของเขา เราจะลงโทษแท่นบูชาของเบธเอลด้วย เขาของแท่นบูชาจะถูกตัด และหล่นลงกับพื้น
15And I will strike the winter house with the summer house: and the houses of ivory shall perish, and many houses shall be destroyed, saith the Lord.
15เราจะทำลายบ้านฤดูหนาวพร้อมกับบ้านฤดูร้อน บ้านงาช้างจะพินาศ บ้านใหญ่ทั้งหลายจะสิ้นสูญ” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
