1And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elias into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elias and Eliseus were going from Galgal.
1耶和華要用旋風接 以利亞 升天的時候， 以利亞 與 以利沙 從 吉甲 前往。
2And Elias said to Eliseus: Stay thou here, because the Lord hath sent me as far as Bethel. And Eliseus said to him: As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And when they were come down to Bethel,
2以利亞 對 以利沙 說：「耶和華差我往 伯特利 去，你可以在這裏等候。」 以利沙 說：「我指着永生的耶和華，又敢在你面前起誓，我必不離開你。」於是二人下到 伯特利 。
3The sons of the prophets, that were at Bethel, came forth to Eliseus, and said to him: Dost thou know that this day the Lord will take away thy master from thee? And he answered: I also know it: hold your peace.
3住 伯特利 的先知門徒出來見 以利沙 ，對他說：「耶和華今日要接你的師傅離開你，你知道不知道？」他說：「我知道，你們不要作聲。」
4And Elias said to Eliseus: Stay here because the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said: As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And when they were come to Jericho,
4以利亞 對 以利沙 說：「耶和華差遣我往 耶利哥 去，你可以在這裏等候。」 以利沙 說：「我指着永生的耶和華，又敢在你面前起誓，我必不離開你。」於是二人到了 耶利哥 。
5The sons of the prophets that were at Jericho, came to Eliseus, and said to him: Dost thou know that this day the Lord will take away thy master from thee? And he said: I also know it: hold your peace.
5住 耶利哥 的先知門徒就近 以利沙 ，對他說：「耶和華今日要接你的師傅離開你，你知道不知道？」他說：「我知道，你們不要作聲。」
6And Elias said to him: Stay here, because the Lord hath sent me as far as the Jordan. And he said: As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee; and they two went on together,
6以利亞 對 以利沙 說：「耶和華差遣我往 約旦河 去，你可以在這裏等候。」 以利沙 說：「我指着永生的耶和華，又敢在你面前起誓，我必不離開你。」於是二人一同前往。
7And fifty men of the sons of the prophets followed them, and stood in sight at a distance: but they two stood by the Jordan.
7有先知門徒去了五十人，遠遠地站在他們對面；二人在 約旦河 邊站住。
8And Elias took his mantle and folded it together, and struck the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, and they both passed over on dry ground.
8以利亞 將自己的外衣捲起來，用以打水，水就左右分開，二人走乾地而過。
9And when they were gone over, Elias said to Eliseus: Ask what thou wilt have me to do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Eliseus said: I beseech thee that in me may be thy double spirit.
9過去之後， 以利亞 對 以利沙 說：「我未曾被接去離開你，你要我為你做甚麼，只管求我。」 以利沙 說：「願 感動 你的靈加倍地感動我。」
10And he answered: Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless if thou see me when I am taken from thee, thou shalt have what thou hast asked: but if thou see me not, thou shalt not have it.
10以利亞 說：「你所求的難得。 雖然如此 ，我被接去離開你的時候，你若看見我，就必得着；不然，必得不着了。」
11And as they went on, walking and talking together, behold a fiery chariot, and fiery horses parted them both asunder: and Elias went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
11他們正走着說話，忽有火車火馬將二人隔開， 以利亞 就乘旋風升天去了。
12And Eliseus saw him, and cried: My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the driver thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own garments, and rent them in two pieces.
12以利沙 看見，就呼叫說：「我父啊！我父啊！ 以色列 的戰車馬兵啊！」以後不再見他了。 於是 以利沙 把自己的衣服撕為兩片。
13And he took up the mantle of Elias, that fell from him: and going back, he stood upon the bank of the Jordan,
13他拾起 以利亞 身上掉下來的外衣，回去站在 約旦河 邊。
14And he struck the waters with the mantle of Elias, that had fallen from him, and they were not divided. And he said: Where is now the God of Elias? And he struck the waters, and they were divided, hither and thither, and Eliseus passed over.
14他用 以利亞 身上掉下來的外衣打水，說：「耶和華－ 以利亞 的上帝在哪裏呢？」打水之後，水也左右分開， 以利沙 就過來了。
15And the sons of the prophets at Jericho, who were over against him, seeing it said: The spirit of Elias hath rested upon Eliseus. And coming to meet him, they worshipped him, falling to the ground,
15住 耶利哥 的先知門徒從對面看見他，就說：「 感動 以利亞 的靈感動 以利沙 了。」他們就來迎接他，在他面前俯伏於地，
16And they said to him: Behold, there are with thy servants fifty strong men, that can go, and seek thy master, lest perhaps the spirit of the Lord hath taken him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley. And he said: Do not send.
16對他說：「僕人們這裏有五十個壯士，求你容他們去尋找你師傅，或者耶和華的靈將他提起來，投在某山某谷。」 以利沙 說：「你們不必打發人去。」
17But they pressed him, till he consented, and said: Send. And they sent fifty men: and they sought three days but found him not.
17他們再三催促他，他難以推辭，就說：「你們打發人去吧！」他們便打發五十人去，尋找了三天，也沒有找着。
18And they came back to him: for he abode at Jericho, and he said to them: Did I not say to you: Do not send?
18以利沙 仍然在 耶利哥 等候他們回到他那裏；他對他們說：「我豈沒有告訴你們不必去嗎？」
19And the men of the city said to Eliseus: Behold the situation of this city is very good, as thou, my lord, seest: but the waters are very bad, and the ground barren.
19耶利哥 城的人對 以利沙 說：「這城的地勢美好，我主看見了；只是水惡劣，土產不熟而落。」
20And he said: Bring me a new vessel, and put salt into it. And when they had brought it,
20以利沙 說：「你們拿一個新瓶來，裝鹽給我」；他們就拿來給他。
21He went out to the spring of the waters, and cast the salt into it, and said: Thus saith the Lord: I have healed these waters, and there shall be no more in them death or barrenness.
21他出到水源，將鹽倒在水中，說：「耶和華如此說：『我治好了這水，從此必不再使人死，也不再使地土不生產。』」
22And the waters were healed unto this day, according to the word of Eliseus, which he spoke.
22於是那水治好了，直到今日，正如 以利沙 所說的。
23And he went up from thence to Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, little boys came out of the city and mocked him, saying: Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
23以利沙 從那裏上 伯特利 去，正上去的時候，有些童子從城裏出來，戲笑他說：「禿頭的上去吧！禿頭的上去吧！」
24And looking back, he saw them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord: and there came forth two bears out of the forest, and tore of them two and forty boys.
24他回頭看見，就奉耶和華的名咒詛他們。於是有兩個母熊從林中出來，撕裂他們中間四十二個童子。
25And from thence he went to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.
25以利沙 從 伯特利 上 迦密山 ，又從 迦密山 回到 撒馬利亞 。
