1Now a certain woman of the wives of the prophets cried to Eliseus, saying: Thy servant my husband is dead, and thou knowest that thy servant was one that feared God, and behold the creditor is come to take away my two sons to serve him.
1有一個先知門徒的妻哀求 以利沙 說：「你僕人－我丈夫死了，他敬畏耶和華是你所知道的。現在有債主來，要取我兩個兒子作奴僕。」
2And Eliseus said to her: What wilt thou have me to do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in thy house? And she answered: I thy handmaid have nothing in my house but a little oil, to anoint me.
2以利沙 問她說：「我可以為你做甚麼呢？你告訴我，你家裏有甚麼？」她說：「婢女家中除了一瓶油之外，沒有甚麼。」
3And he said to her: Go, borrow of all thy neighbours empty vessels not a few.
3以利沙 說：「你去，向你眾鄰舍借空器皿，不要少借；
4And go in, and shut thy door, when thou art within, and thy sons: and pour out thereof into all those vessels: and when they are full take them away.
4回到家裏，關上門，你和你兒子在裏面將油倒在所有的器皿裏，倒滿了的放在一邊。」
5So the woman went, and shut the door upon her, and upon her sons: they brought her the vessels, and she poured in.
5於是，婦人離開 以利沙 去了，關上門，自己和兒子在裏面；兒子把 器皿 拿來，她就倒油。
6And when the vessels were full, she said to her son: Bring me yet a vessel. And he answered: I have no more. And the oil stood.
6器皿都滿了，她對兒子說：「再給我拿器皿來。」兒子說：「再沒有器皿了。」油就止住了。
7And she came, and told the man of God. And he said: Go, sell the oil, and pay thy creditor: and thou and thy sons live of the rest.
7婦人去告訴神人，神人說：「你去賣油還債，所剩的你和你兒子可以靠着度日。」
8And there was a day when Eliseus passed by Sunam: now there was a great woman there, who detained him to eat bread; and as he passed often that way, he turned into her house to eat bread.
8一日， 以利沙 走到 書念 ，在那裏有一個大戶的婦人強留他吃飯。此後， 以利沙 每從那裏經過就進去吃飯。
9And she said to her husband: I perceive that this is a holy man of God, who often passeth by us.
9婦人對丈夫說：「我看出那常從我們這裏經過的是聖潔的神人。
10Let us therefore make him a little chamber, and put a little bed in it for him, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick, that when he cometh to us, he may abide there.
10我們可以為他在牆上蓋一間小樓，在其中安放床榻、桌子、椅子、燈臺，他來到我們這裏，就可以住在其間。」
11Now there was a certain day when he came and turned in to the chamber, and rested there.
11一日， 以利沙 來到那裏，就進了那樓躺臥。
12And he said to Giezi his servant Call this Sunamitess. And when he had called her, and she stood before him,
12以利沙 吩咐僕人 基哈西 說：「你叫這 書念 婦人來。」他就把婦人叫了來，婦人站在 以利沙 面前。
13He said to his servant: Say to her Behold thou hast diligently served us in all things, what wilt thou have me to do for thee? hast thou any business, and wilt thou that I speak to the king, or to the general of the army? And she answered: I dwell in the midst of my own people.
13以利沙 吩咐僕人說：「你對她說：你既為我們費了許多心思，可以為你做甚麼呢？你向王或元帥有所求的沒有？」她回答說：「我在我本鄉安居無事。」
14And he said: What will she then that I do for her? And Giezi said: Do not ask, for she hath no son, and her husband is old.
14以利沙 對僕人 說：「究竟當為她做甚麼呢？」 基哈西 說：「她沒有兒子，她丈夫也老了。」
15Then he bid him call her: And when she was called, and stood before the door.
15以利沙 說：「再叫她來。」於是叫了她來，她就站在門口。
16He said to her: At this time, and this same hour, if life accompany, thou shalt have a son in thy womb. But she answered: Do not, I beseech thee, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie to thy handmaid.
16以利沙 說：「明年到這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「神人，我主啊，不要那樣欺哄婢女。」
17And the woman conceived, and brought forth a son in the time, and at the same hour, that Eliseus had said.
17婦人果然懷孕，到了那時候，生了一個兒子，正如 以利沙 所說的。
18And the child grew. And on a certain day, when he went out to his father to the reapers,
18孩子漸漸長大，一日到他父親和收割的人那裏，
19He said to his father: My head acheth, my head acheth. But he said to his servant: Take him, and carry him to his mother.
19他對父親說：「我的頭啊，我的頭啊！」他父親對僕人說：「把他抱到他母親那裏。」
20And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, she set him on her knees until noon, and then he died.
20僕人抱去，交給他母親；孩子坐在母親的膝上，到晌午就死了。
21And she went up and laid him upon the bed of the man of God, and shut the door: and going out,
21他母親抱他上了樓，將他放在神人的床上，關上 門 出來，
22She called her husband, and said: Send with me, I beseech thee, one of thy servants, and an ass that I may run to the man of God, and come again.
22呼叫她丈夫說：「你叫一個僕人給我牽一匹驢來，我要快快地去見神人，就回來。」
23And he said to her: Why dost thou go to him? today is neither new moon nor sabbath. She answered: I will go.
23丈夫說：「今日不是月朔，也不是安息日，你為何要去見他呢？」婦人說：「平安無事。」
24And she saddled an ass, and commanded her servant: Drive, and make haste, make no stay in going. And do that which I bid thee.
24於是備上驢，對僕人說：「你快快趕着走，我若不吩咐你，就不要遲慢。」
25So she went forward, and came to the man of God to mount Carmel: and when the mall of God saw her coming towards, he said to Giezi his servant: Behold that Sunamitess.
25婦人就往 迦密山 去見神人。 神人遠遠地看見她，對僕人 基哈西 說：「看哪， 書念 的婦人來了！
26Go therefore to meet her, and say to her: Is all well with thee, and with thy husband, and with thy son? and she answered: Well.
26你跑去迎接她，問她說：你平安嗎？你丈夫平安嗎？孩子平安嗎？」她說：「平安。」
27And when she came to the man of God to the mount, she caught hold on his feet: and Giezi came to remove her. And the man of God said: Let her alone for her soul is in anguish, and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.
27婦人上了山，到神人那裏，就抱住神人的腳。 基哈西 前來要推開她，神人說：「由她吧！因為她心裏愁苦，耶和華向我隱瞞，沒有指示我。」
28And she said to him: Did I ask a son of my lord? did I not say to thee: Do not deceive me?
28婦人說：「我何嘗向我主求過兒子呢？我豈沒有說過，不要欺哄我嗎？」
29Then he said to Giezi: Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thy hand, and go. If any man meet thee, salute him not: and if any man salute thee, answer him not: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.
29以利沙 吩咐 基哈西 說：「你束上腰，手拿我的杖前去；若遇見人，不要向他問安；人若向你問安，也不要回答；要把我的杖放在孩子臉上。」
30But the mother of the child said: As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. He arose, therefore, and followed her.
30孩子的母親說：「我指着永生的耶和華，又敢在你面前起誓，我必不離開你。」於是 以利沙 起身，隨着她去了。
31But Giezi was gone before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child, and there was no voice nor sense: and he returned to meet him, and told him, saying: The child is not risen.
31基哈西 先去，把杖放在孩子臉上，卻沒有聲音，也沒有動靜。 基哈西 就迎着 以利沙 回來，告訴他說：「孩子還沒有醒過來。」
32Eliseus therefore went into the house, and behold the child lay dead on his bed.
32以利沙 來到，進了屋子，看見孩子死了，放在自己的床上。
33And going in he shut the door upon him, and upon the child, and prayed to the Lord.
33他就關上門，只有自己和孩子在裏面，他便祈禱耶和華，
34And he went up, and lay upon the child: and he put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he bowed himself upon him, and the child’s flesh grew warm.
34上床伏在孩子身上，口對口，眼對眼，手對手；既伏在孩子身上，孩子的身體就漸漸溫和了。
35Then he returned and walked in the house, once to and fro: and he went up, and lay upon him: and the child gaped seven times, and opened his eyes.
35然後他下來，在屋裏來往走了一趟，又上去伏在孩子身上，孩子打了七個噴嚏，就睜開眼睛了。
36And he called Giezi, and said to him: Call this Sunamitess. And she being called, went in to him: and he said: Take up thy son.
36以利沙 叫 基哈西 說：「你叫這 書念 婦人來」；於是叫了她來。 以利沙 說：「將你兒子抱起來。」
37She came and fell at his feet, and worshipped upon the ground: and took up her son, and went out.
37婦人就進來，在 以利沙 腳前俯伏於地，抱起她兒子出去了。
38And Eliseus returned to Galgal, and there was a famine in the land, and the sons of the prophets dwelt before him. And he said to one of his servants: Set on the great pot, and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets.
38以利沙 又來到 吉甲 ，那地正有饑荒。先知門徒坐在他面前，他吩咐僕人說：「你將大鍋放在火上，給先知門徒熬湯。」
39And one went out into the field to gather wild herbs: and he found something like a wild vine, and gathered of it wild gourds of the field, and filled his mantle, and coming back he shred them into the pot of pottage, for he knew not what it was.
39有一個人去到田野掐菜，遇見一棵野瓜籐，就摘了一兜野瓜回來，切了擱在熬湯的鍋中，因為他們不知道是甚麼東西；
40And they poured it out for their companions to eat: and when they had tasted of the pottage, they cried out, saying: Death is in the pot, O man of God. And they could not eat thereof.
40倒出來給眾人吃，吃的時候，都喊叫說：「神人哪，鍋中有致死的毒物！」所以眾人不能吃了。
41But he said: Bring some meal. And when they had brought it, he cast it into the pot, and said: Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was now no bitterness in the pot.
41以利沙 說：「拿點麵來」，就把麵撒在鍋中，說：「倒出來，給眾人吃吧！」鍋中就沒有毒了。
42And a certain man came from Baalsalisa bringing to the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty leaves of barley, and new corn in his scrip. And he said: Give to the people, that they may eat.
42有一個人從 巴力‧沙利沙 來，帶着初熟大麥做的餅二十個，並新穗子，裝在口袋裏送給神人。神人說：「把這些給眾人吃。」
43And his servant answered him: How much is this, that I should set it before a hundred men? He said again: Give to the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the Lord: They shall eat, and there shall be left.
43僕人說：「這一點豈可擺給一百人吃呢？」 以利沙 說：「你只管給眾人吃吧！因為耶和華如此說，眾人必吃了，還剩下。」
44So he set it before them: and they ate, and there was left according to the word of the Lord.
44僕人就擺在眾人面前，他們吃了，果然還剩下，正如耶和華所說的。
