1An ancient man rebuke not, but entreat him as a father: young men, as brethren:
1不可嚴責老年人，只要勸他如同父親；勸少年人如同弟兄；
2Old women, as mothers: young women, as sisters, in all chastity.
2勸老年婦女如同母親；勸少年婦女如同姊妹；總要清清潔潔的。
3Honour widows, that are widows indeed.
3要尊敬那真為寡婦的。
4But if any widow have children, or grandchildren, let her learn first to govern her own house, and to make a return of duty to her parents: for this is acceptable before God.
4若寡婦有兒女，或有孫子孫女，便叫他們先在自己家中學着行孝，報答親恩，因為這在上帝面前是可悅納的。
5But she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, let her trust in God, and continue in supplications and prayers night and day.
5那獨居無靠、真為寡婦的，是仰賴上帝，晝夜不住地祈求禱告。
6For she that liveth in pleasures, is dead while she is living.
6但那好宴樂的寡婦正活着的時候也是死的。
7And this give in charge, that they may be blameless.
7這些事你要囑咐她們，叫她們無可指責。
8But if any man have not care of his own, and especially of those of his house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
8人若不看顧親屬，就是背了真道，比不信的人還不好，不看顧自己家裏的人，更是如此。
9Let a widow be chosen of no less than threescore years of age, who hath been the wife of one husband.
9寡婦記在冊子上，必須年紀到六十歲，從來只作一個丈夫的妻子，
10Having testimony for her good works, if she have brought up children, if she have received to harbour, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have ministered to them that suffer tribulation, if she have diligently followed every good work.
10又有行善的名聲，就如養育兒女，接待遠人，洗聖徒的腳，救濟遭難的人，竭力行各樣善事。
11But the younger widows avoid. For when they have grown wanton in Christ, they will marry:
11至於年輕的寡婦，就可以辭她；因為她們的情慾發動，違背基督的時候就想要嫁人。
12Having damnation, because they have made void their first faith.
12她們被定罪，是因廢棄了當初所許的願；
13And withal being idle they learn to go about from house to house: and are not only idle, but tattlers also, and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
13並且她們又習慣懶惰，挨家閒遊；不但是懶惰，又說長道短，好管閒事，說些不當說的話。
14I will therefore that the younger should marry, bear children, be mistresses of families, give no occasion to the adversary to speak evil.
14所以我願意年輕的 寡婦 嫁人，生養兒女，治理家務，不給敵人辱罵的把柄。
15For some are already turned aside after Satan.
15因為已經有轉去隨從撒但的。
16If any of the faithful have widows, let him minister to them, and let not the church be charged: that there may be sufficient for them that are widows indeed.
16信 主 的婦女，若家中有寡婦，自己就當救濟她們，不可累着教會，好使教會能救濟那真 無倚靠的 寡婦。
17Let the priests that rule well, be esteemed worthy of double honour: especially they who labour in the word and doctrine:
17那善於管理教會的長老，當以為配受加倍的敬奉；那勞苦傳道教導人的，更當如此。
18For the scripture saith: Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
18因為經上說：「牛 在場上 踹穀的時候，不可籠住牠的嘴」；又說：「工人得工價是應當的。」
19Against a priest receive not an accusation, but under two or three witnesses.
19控告長老的呈子，非有兩三個見證就不要收。
20Them that sin reprove before all: that the rest also may have fear.
20犯罪的人，當在眾人面前責備他，叫其餘的人也可以懼怕。
21I charge thee before God, and Christ Jesus, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by declining to either side.
21我在上帝和基督耶穌並蒙揀選的天使面前囑咐你：要遵守這些話，不可存成見，行事也不可有偏心。
22Impose not hands lightly upon any man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins. Keep thyself chaste.
22給人行按手的禮，不可急促；不要在別人的罪上有分，要保守自己清潔。
23Do not still drink water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake, and thy frequent infirmities.
23因你胃口不清，屢次患病，再不要照常喝水，可以稍微用點酒。
24Some men’s sins are manifest, going before to judgment: and some men they follow after.
24有些人的罪是明顯的， 如同 先到審判案前；有些人的罪是隨後跟了去的。
25In like manner also good deeds are manifest: and they that are otherwise, cannot be hid.
25這樣，善行也有明顯的，那不明顯的也不能隱藏。
