1Christ therefore having suffered in the flesh, be you also armed with the same thought: for he that hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceased from sins:
1ดังนั้น เมื่อพระคริสต์ทรงทนทุกข์เพื่อเราในเนื้อหนัง พวกคุณก็จงติดอาวุธให้ตนเองด้วยความคิดเดียวกัน เพราะคนที่ทนทุกข์ในเนื้อหนังได้หยุดจากบาปแล้ว
2That now he may live the rest of his time in the flesh, not after the desires of men, but according to the will of God.
2เพื่อจะไม่ใช้เวลาที่เหลืออยู่ในเนื้อหนังตามความปรารถนาของมนุษย์อีก แต่ใช้เวลานั้นตามพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้า
3For the time past is sufficient to have fulfilled the will of the Gentiles, for them who have walked in riotousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and unlawful worshipping of idols.
3เพราะเราได้ใช้เวลาในอดีตมากพอแล้วกับการทำตามความต้องการของคนต่างชาติ ดำเนินชีวิตในการลามก ความใคร่ การดื่มจนเมามาย การสำมะเลเทเมา งานเลี้ยงเมามาย และการบูชารูปเคารพที่น่ารังเกียจ
4Wherein they think it strange, that you run not with them into the same confusion of riotousness, speaking evil of you.

5Who shall render account to him, who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

6For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to the dead: that they might be judged indeed according to men, in the flesh; but may live according to God, in the Spirit.
6เพราะเหตุนี้ จึงประกาศข่าวดีแม้แก่คนตาย เพื่อว่า แม้พวกเขาจะถูกพิพากษาตามแบบมนุษย์ในเนื้อหนัง แต่จะมีชีวิตเพื่อพระเจ้าในวิญญาณ
7But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore, and watch in prayers.
7แต่จุดจบของทุกสิ่งใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว ดังนั้น จงมีความคิดสุขุม ควบคุมตนเอง และมีสติในการอธิษฐาน
8But before all things have a constant mutual charity among yourselves: for charity covereth a multitude of sins.
8เหนือสิ่งอื่นใด จงรักกันอย่างจริงจัง เพราะความรักปกปิดบาปมากมาย
9Using hospitality one towards another, without murmuring,
9จงต้อนรับกันด้วยไมตรี โดยไม่บ่น
10As every man hath received grace, ministering the same one to another: as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
10แต่ละคนได้รับของประทานอย่างไร ก็จงใช้ของประทานนั้นรับใช้กัน ในฐานะผู้ที่ได้รับมอบหมายให้ดูแลพระคุณของพระเจ้าที่มีหลายรูปแบบอย่างดี
11If any man speak, let him speak, as the words of God. If any man minister, let him do it, as of the power, which God administereth: that in all things God may be honoured through Jesus Christ: to whom is glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.
11ถ้าใครพูด ก็ให้พูดเหมือนกำลังกล่าวถ้อยคำของพระเจ้าเอง ถ้าใครรับใช้ ก็ให้รับใช้ด้วยกำลังที่พระเจ้าประทาน เพื่อว่าในทุกสิ่ง พระเจ้าจะได้รับพระสิริโดยพระเยซูคริสต์ พระสิริและอำนาจปกครองเป็นของพระองค์ตลอดไปเป็นนิตย์ อาเมน
12Dearly beloved, think not strange the burning heat which is to try you, as if some new thing happened to you;
12ที่รัก อย่าประหลาดใจกับการทดลองดุจไฟที่เกิดขึ้นเพื่อทดสอบพวกคุณ ราวกับว่ามีเรื่องประหลาดเกิดขึ้นกับพวกคุณ
13But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
13แต่เพราะพวกคุณมีส่วนร่วมในความทุกข์ของพระคริสต์ จงชื่นชมยินดี เพื่อว่า เมื่อพระสิริของพระองค์ปรากฏให้เห็น จะได้ชื่นชมยินดีอย่างล้นเหลือ
14If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you shall be blessed: for that which is of the honour, glory, and power of God, and that which is his Spirit, resteth upon you.
14ถ้าถูกดูหมิ่นเพราะชื่อของพระคริสต์ ก็เป็นสุข เพราะพระวิญญาณแห่งพระสิริ ซึ่งเป็นพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้า พักอยู่เหนือพวกคุณ ฝ่ายพวกเขาหมิ่นประมาทพระองค์ แต่ฝ่ายพวกคุณถวายพระสิริแด่พระองค์
15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a railer, or a coveter of other men’s things.
15แต่อย่าให้ใครในพวกคุณต้องทนทุกข์เพราะเป็นฆาตกร ขโมย คนทำชั่ว หรือคนที่ชอบยุ่งเรื่องของคนอื่น
16But if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.
16แต่ถ้าใครต้องทนทุกข์เพราะเป็นคริสเตียน ก็อย่าให้เขาอับอาย แต่จงให้เขาถวายพระสิริแด่พระเจ้าในเรื่องนี้
17For the time is, that judgment should begin at the house of God. And if first at us, what shall be the end of them that believe not the gospel of God?
17เพราะถึงเวลาแล้วที่การพิพากษาจะเริ่มจากคนในบ้านของพระเจ้า และถ้าเริ่มจากเราก่อน แล้วผู้ที่ไม่เชื่อฟังข่าวดีของพระเจ้าจะเป็นอย่างไร
18And if the just man shall scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
18“ถ้าคนชอบธรรมยังรอดได้ยาก แล้วคนไม่เคารพพระเจ้าและคนบาปจะเป็นอย่างไร”
19Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God, commend their souls in good deeds to the faithful Creator.
19ดังนั้น คนที่ทนทุกข์ตามพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้า ก็จงมอบจิตของตนไว้กับพระผู้สร้างผู้ซื่อสัตย์ พร้อมกับทำความดีต่อไป
