1And Elias the Thesbite of the inhabitants of Galaad said to Achab: As the Lord liveth the God of Israel, in whose sight I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to the words of my mouth.
1基列 寄居的 提斯比 人 以利亞 對 亞哈 說：「我指着所事奉永生耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降露，不下雨。」
2And the word of the Lord came to him, saying:
2耶和華的話臨到 以利亞 說：
3Get thee hence, and go towards the east and hide thyself by the torrent of Carith, which is over against the Jordan,
3「你離開這裏往東去，藏在 約旦河 東邊的 基立溪 旁。
4And there thou shalt drink of the torrent: and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
4你要喝那溪裏的水，我已吩咐烏鴉在那裏供養你。」
5So he went, and did according to the word of the Lord: and going, he dwelt by the torrent Carith, which is over against the Jordan.
5於是 以利亞 照着耶和華的話，去住在 約旦河 東的 基立溪 旁。
6And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of tile torrent.
6烏鴉早晚給他叼餅和肉來，他也喝那溪裏的水。
7But after some time the torrent was dried up, for it had not rained upon the earth.
7過了些日子，溪水就乾了，因為雨沒有下在地上。
8Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying:
8耶和華的話臨到他說：
9Arise, and go to Sarephta of the Sidonians, and dwell there: for I have commanded a widow woman there to feed thee.
9「你起身往 西頓 的 撒勒法 去，住在那裏；我已吩咐那裏的一個寡婦供養你。」
10He arose, and went to Sarephta. And when he was come to the gate of the city, he saw the widow woman gathering sticks, and he called her, and said to her: Give me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
10以利亞 就起身往 撒勒法 去。到了城門，見有一個寡婦在那裏撿柴， 以利亞 呼叫她說：「求你用器皿取點水來給我喝。」
11And when she was going to fetch it he called after her, saying: Bring me also, I beseech thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand.
11她去取水的時候， 以利亞 又呼叫她說：「也求你拿點餅來給我！」
12And she answered: As the Lord thy God liveth, I have no bread, but only a handful of meal in a pot, and a little oil in a cruse: behold I am gathering two sticks that I may go in and dress it, for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
12她說：「我指着永生耶和華－你的上帝起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裏只有一點油；我現在找兩根柴，回家要為我和我兒子做 餅 ；我們吃了，死就死吧！」
13And Elias said to her: Fear not, but go, and do as thou hast said: but first make for me of the same meal a little hearth cake, and bring it to me: and after make for thyself and thy son.
13以利亞 對她說：「不要懼怕！可以照你所說的去做吧！只要先為我做一個小餅拿來給我，然後為你和你的兒子做餅。
14For thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: The pot of meal shall not waste, nor the cruse of oil be diminished, until the day wherein the Lord will give rain upon the face of the earth.
14因為耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝如此說：罈內的麵必不減少，瓶裏的油必不缺短，直到耶和華使雨降在地上的日子。」
15She went and did according to the word of Elias: and he ate, and she, and her house: and from that day
15婦人就照 以利亞 的話去行。她和她家中的人，並 以利亞 ，吃了許多日子。
16The pot of meal wasted not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke in the hand of Elias.
16罈內的麵果不減少，瓶裏的油也不缺短，正如耶和華藉 以利亞 所說的話。
17And it came to pass after this that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick, and the sickness was very grievous, so that there was no breath left in him.
17這事以後，作那家主母的婦人，她兒子病了；病得甚重，以致身無氣息。
18And she said to Elias: What have I to do with thee, thou man of God? art thou come to me that my iniquities should be remembered, and that thou shouldst kill my son?
18婦人對 以利亞 說：「神人哪，我與你何干？你竟到我這裏來，使 上帝 想念我的罪，以致我的兒子死呢？」
19And Elias said to her: Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him into the upper chamber where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
19以利亞 對她說：「把你兒子交給我。」 以利亞 就從婦人懷中將孩子接過來，抱到他所住的樓中，放在自己的床上，
20And he cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, hast thou afflicted also the widow, with whom I am after a so maintained, so as to kill her son?
20就求告耶和華說：「耶和華－我的上帝啊，我寄居在這寡婦的家裏，你就降禍與她，使她的兒子死了嗎？」
21And he stretched, and measured himself upon the child three times, and cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, let the soul of this child, I beseech thee, return into his body.
21以利亞 三次伏在孩子的身上，求告耶和華說：「耶和華－我的上帝啊，求你使這孩子的靈魂仍入他的身體！」
22And the Lord heard the voice of Elias: and the soul of the child returned into him, and he revived.
22耶和華應允 以利亞 的話，孩子的靈魂仍入他的身體，他就活了。
23And Elias took the child, and brought him down from the upper chamber to the house below, and delivered him to his mother, and said to her: Behold thy son liveth.
23以利亞 將孩子從樓上抱下來，進屋子交給他母親，說：「看哪，你的兒子活了！」
24And the woman said to Elias: Now, by this I know that thou art a man of God, and the word of the Lord in thy mouth is true.
24婦人對 以利亞 說：「現在我知道你是神人，耶和華藉你口所說的話是真的。」
