1耶路撒冷 王 亞多尼‧洗德 聽見 約書亞 奪了 艾 城，盡行毀滅，怎樣待 耶利哥 和 耶利哥 的王，也照樣待 艾 城和 艾 城的王，又聽見 基遍 的居民與 以色列 人立了和約，住在他們中間，
1Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
2就甚懼怕；因為 基遍 是一座大城，如都城一般，比 艾 城更大，並且城內的人都是勇士。
2that they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.
3所以 耶路撒冷 王 亞多尼‧洗德 打發人去見 希伯崙 王 何咸 、 耶末 王 毗蘭 、 拉吉 王 雅非亞 ，和 伊磯倫 王 底璧 ，說：
3Wherefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying:
4「求你們上來幫助我，我們好攻打 基遍 ，因為他們與 約書亞 和 以色列 人立了和約。」
4'Come up unto me, and help me, and let us smite Gibeon; for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.'
5於是五個 亞摩利 王，就是 耶路撒冷 王、 希伯崙 王、 耶末 王、 拉吉 王、 伊磯倫 王，大家聚集，率領他們的眾軍上去，對着 基遍 安營，攻打 基遍 。
5Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped against Gibeon, and made war against it.
6基遍 人就打發人往 吉甲 的營中去見 約書亞 ，說：「你不要袖手不顧你的僕人，求你速速上來拯救我們，幫助我們，因為住山地 亞摩利 人的諸王都聚集攻擊我們。」
6And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying: 'Slack not thy hands from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill-country are gathered together against us.'
7於是 約書亞 和他一切兵丁，並大能的勇士，都從 吉甲 上去。
7So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.
8耶和華對 約書亞 說：「不要怕他們；因為我已將他們交在你手裏，他們無一人能在你面前站立得住。」
8And the LORD said unto Joshua: 'Fear them not; for I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand against thee.'
9約書亞 就終夜從 吉甲 上去，猛然臨到他們那裏。
9Joshua therefore came upon them suddenly; for he went up from Gilgal all the night.
10耶和華使他們在 以色列 人面前潰亂。 約書亞 在 基遍 大大地殺敗他們，追趕他們，在 伯‧和崙 的上坡路擊殺他們，直到 亞西加 和 瑪基大 。
10And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon; and they chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
11他們在 以色列 人面前逃跑，正在 伯‧和崙 下坡的時候，耶和華從天上降大冰雹在他們身上，直降到 亞西加 ，打死他們。被冰雹打死的，比 以色列 人用刀殺死的還多。
11And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died; they were more who died with the hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
12當耶和華將 亞摩利 人交付 以色列 人的日子， 約書亞 就禱告耶和華，在 以色列 人眼前說： 日頭啊，你要停在 基遍 ； 月亮啊，你要止在 亞雅崙谷 。
12Then spoke Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel: 'Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Aijalon.'
13於是日頭停留，月亮止住， 直等國民向敵人報仇。 這事豈不是寫在 雅煞珥 書上嗎？日頭在天當中停住，不急速下落，約有一日之久。
13And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stayed in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14在這日以前，這日以後，耶和華聽人的禱告，沒有像這日的，是因耶和華為 以色列 爭戰。
14And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.
15約書亞 和 以色列 眾人回到 吉甲 的營中。
15And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
16那五王逃跑，藏在 瑪基大 洞裏。
16And these five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah.
17有人告訴 約書亞 說：「那五王已經找到了，都藏在 瑪基大 洞裏。」
17And it was told Joshua, saying: 'The five kings are found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah.'
18約書亞 說：「你們把幾塊大石頭滾到洞口，派人看守，
18And Joshua said: 'Roll great stones unto the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to keep them;
19你們卻不可耽延，要追趕你們的仇敵，擊殺他們儘後邊的人，不容他們進自己的城邑，因為耶和華－你們的上帝已經把他們交在你們手裏。」
19but stay not ye; pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities; for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.'
20約書亞 和 以色列 人大大殺敗他們，直到將他們滅盡；其中剩下的人都進了堅固的城。
20And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,
21眾百姓就安然回 瑪基大 營中，到 約書亞 那裏。沒有一人敢向 以色列 人饒舌。
21that all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace; none whetted his tongue against any of the children of Israel.
22約書亞 說：「打開洞口，將那五王從洞裏帶出來，領到我面前。」
22Then said Joshua: 'Open the mouth of the cave, and bring forth those five kings unto me out of the cave.'
23眾人就這樣行，將那五王，就是 耶路撒冷 王、 希伯崙 王、 耶末 王、 拉吉 王、 伊磯倫 王，從洞裏帶出來，領到 約書亞 面前。
23And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.
24帶出那五王到 約書亞 面前的時候， 約書亞 就召了 以色列 眾人來，對那些和他同去的軍長說：「你們近前來，把腳踏在這些王的頸項上。」他們就近前來，把腳踏在這些王的頸項上。
24And it came to pass, when they brought forth those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the chiefs of the men of war that went with him: 'Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings.' And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
25約書亞 對他們說：「你們不要懼怕，也不要驚惶。應當剛強壯膽，因為耶和華必這樣待你們所要攻打的一切仇敵。」
25And Joshua said unto them: 'Fear not, nor be dismayed; be strong and of good courage; for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.'
26隨後 約書亞 將這五王殺死，掛在五棵樹上。他們就在樹上直掛到晚上。
26And afterward Joshua smote them, and put them to death, and hanged them on five trees; and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.
27日頭要落的時候， 約書亞 一吩咐，人就把屍首從樹上取下來，丟在他們藏過的洞裏，把幾塊大石頭放在洞口，直存到今日。
27And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had hidden themselves, and laid great stones on the mouth of the cave, unto this very day.
28當日， 約書亞 奪了 瑪基大 ，用刀擊殺城中的人和王；將其中一切人口盡行殺滅，沒有留下一個。他待 瑪基大 王，像從前待 耶利哥 王一樣。
28And Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof; he utterly destroyed them and all the souls that were therein, he left none remaining; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done unto the king of Jericho.
29約書亞 和 以色列 眾人從 瑪基大 往 立拿 去，攻打 立拿 。
29And Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah.
30耶和華將 立拿 和 立拿 的王也交在 以色列 人手裏。 約書亞 攻打這城，用刀擊殺了城中的一切人口，沒有留下一個。他待 立拿 王，像從前待 耶利哥 王一樣。
30And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining in it; and he did unto the king thereof as he had done unto the king of Jericho.
31約書亞 和 以色列 眾人從 立拿 往 拉吉 去，對着 拉吉 安營，攻打這城。
31And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it.
32耶和華將 拉吉 交在 以色列 人的手裏。第二天 約書亞 就奪了 拉吉 ，用刀擊殺了城中的一切人口，是照他向 立拿 一切所行的。
32And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, and he took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.
33那時 基色 王 荷蘭 上來幫助 拉吉 ， 約書亞 就把他和他的民都擊殺了，沒有留下一個。
33Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.
34約書亞 和 以色列 眾人從 拉吉 往 伊磯倫 去，對着 伊磯倫 安營，攻打這城。
34And Joshua passed from Lachish, and all Israel with him, unto Eglon; and they encamped against it, and fought against it.
35當日就奪了城，用刀擊殺了城中的人。那日， 約書亞 將城中的一切人口盡行殺滅，是照他向 拉吉 一切所行的。
35And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
36約書亞 和 以色列 眾人從 伊磯倫 上 希伯崙 去，攻打這城，
36And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it.
37就奪了 希伯崙 和屬 希伯崙 的諸城邑，用刀將城中的人與王，並那些城邑中的人口，都擊殺了，沒有留下一個，是照他向 伊磯倫 所行的，把城中的一切人口盡行殺滅。
37And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but he utterly destroyed it, and all the souls that were therein.
38約書亞 和 以色列 眾人回到 底璧 ，攻打這城，
38And Joshua turned back, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it.
39就奪了 底璧 和屬 底璧 的城邑，又擒獲 底璧 的王，用刀將這些城中的人口盡行殺滅，沒有留下一個。他待 底璧 和 底璧 王，像從前待 希伯崙 和 立拿 與 立拿 王一樣。
39And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining; as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to the king thereof.
40這樣， 約書亞 擊殺全地的人，就是山地、南地、高原、山坡的人，和那些地的諸王，沒有留下一個。將凡有氣息的盡行殺滅，正如耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝所吩咐的。
40So Joshua smote all the land, the hill-country, and the South, and the Lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining; but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD, the God of Israel, commanded.
41約書亞 從 加低斯‧巴尼亞 攻擊到 迦薩 ，又攻擊 歌珊 全地，直到 基遍 。
41And Joshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.
42約書亞 一時殺敗了這些王，並奪了他們的地，因為耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝為 以色列 爭戰。
42And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.
43於是 約書亞 和 以色列 眾人回到 吉甲 的營中。
43And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
