1我厭煩我的性命， 必由着自己述說我的哀情； 因心裏苦惱，我要說話，
1My soul is weary of my life; I will give free course to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
2對上帝說：不要定我有罪， 要指示我，你為何與我爭辯？
2I will say unto God: Do not condemn me; make me know wherefore Thou contendest with me.
3你手所造的， 你又欺壓，又藐視， 卻光照惡人的計謀。 這事你以為美嗎？
3Is it good unto Thee that Thou shouldest oppress, that Thou shouldest despise the work of Thy hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
4你的眼豈是肉眼？ 你查看豈像人查看嗎？
4Hast Thou eyes of flesh? or seest Thou as man seeth?
5你的日子豈像人的日子， 你的年歲豈像人的年歲，
5Are Thy days as the days of man, or Thy years as a man's days,
6就追問我的罪孽， 尋察我的罪過嗎？
6That Thou inquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin,
7其實，你知道我沒有罪惡， 並沒有能救 我 脫離你手的。
7Although Thou knowest that I shall not be condemned; and there is none that can deliver out of Thy hand?
8你的手創造我，造就我的四肢百體， 你還要毀滅我。
8Thy hands have framed me and fashioned me together round about; yet Thou dost destroy me!
9求你記念－製造我如摶泥一般， 你還要使我歸於塵土嗎？
9Remember, I beseech Thee, that Thou hast fashioned me as clay; and wilt Thou bring me into dust again?
10你不是倒出我來好像奶， 使我凝結如同奶餅嗎？
10Hast Thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?
11你以皮和肉為衣給我穿上， 用骨與筋把我全體聯絡。
11Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
12你將生命和慈愛賜給我； 你也眷顧保全我的心靈。
12Thou hast granted me life and favour, and Thy providence hath preserved my spirit.
13然而，你 待我的 這些事早已藏在你心裏； 我知道你久有此意。
13Yet these things Thou didst hide in Thy heart; I know that this is with Thee;
14我若犯罪，你就察看我， 並不赦免我的罪孽。
14If I sin, then Thou markest me, and Thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.
15我若行惡，便有了禍； 我若為義，也不敢抬頭， 正是滿心羞愧， 眼見我的苦情。
15If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet shall I not lift up my head — being filled with ignominy and looking upon mine affliction.
16我若昂首自得，你就追捕我如獅子， 又在我身上顯出奇能。
16And if it exalt itself, Thou huntest me as a lion; and again Thou showest Thyself marvellous upon me.
17你重立見證攻擊我， 向我加增惱怒， 如軍兵更換着攻擊我。
17Thou renewest Thy witnesses against me, and increasest Thine indignation upon me; host succeeding host against me.
18你為何使我出母胎呢？ 不如我當時氣絕，無人得見我；
18Wherefore then hast Thou brought me forth out of the womb? Would that I had perished, and no eye had seen me!
19這樣，就如沒有我一般， 一出母胎就被送入墳墓。
19I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.
20我的日子不是甚少嗎？ 求你停手寬容我， 叫我在往而不返之先－ 就是往黑暗和死蔭之地以先－ 可以稍得暢快。
20Are not my days few? Cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,
no verse 21 in this text
21Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and of the shadow of death;
22那地甚是幽暗，是死蔭混沌 之地 ； 那裏的光好像幽暗。
22A land of thick darkness, as darkness itself; a land of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.
