1大衛 問說：「 掃羅 家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因 約拿單 的緣故向他施恩。」
1And David said: 'Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?'
2掃羅 家有一個僕人，名叫 洗巴 ，有人叫他來見 大衛 ，王問他說：「你是 洗巴 嗎？」回答說：「僕人是。」
2Now there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him unto David; and the king said unto him: 'Art thou Ziba?' And he said: 'Thy servant is he.'
3王說：「 掃羅 家還有人沒有？我要照上帝的慈愛恩待他。」 洗巴 對王說：「還有 約拿單 的一個兒子，是瘸腿的。」
3And the king said: 'Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God unto him?' And Ziba said unto the king: 'Jonathan hath yet a son, who is lame on his feet.'
4王說：「他在哪裏？」 洗巴 對王說：「他在 羅‧底巴 ， 亞米利 的兒子 瑪吉 家裏。」
4And the king said unto him: 'Where is he?' And Ziba said unto the king: 'Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.'
5於是 大衛 王打發人去，從 羅‧底巴 亞米利 的兒子 瑪吉 家裏召了他來。
5Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.
6掃羅 的孫子、 約拿單 的兒子 米非波設 來見 大衛 ，伏地叩拜。 大衛 說：「 米非波設 ！」 米非波設 說：「僕人在此。」
6And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came unto David, and fell on his face, and prostrated himself. And David said: 'Mephibosheth!' And he answered: 'Behold thy servant!'
7大衛 說：「你不要懼怕，我必因你父親 約拿單 的緣故施恩與你，將你祖父 掃羅 的一切田地都歸還你；你也可以常與我同席吃飯。」
7And David said unto him: 'Fear not; for I will surely show thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.'
8米非波設 又叩拜，說：「僕人算甚麼，不過如死狗一般，竟蒙王這樣眷顧！」
8And he bowed down, and said: 'What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?'
9王召了 掃羅 的僕人 洗巴 來，對他說：「我已將屬 掃羅 和他的一切家產都賜給你主人的兒子了。
9Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him: 'All that pertained to Saul and to all his house have I given unto thy master's son.
10你和你的眾子、僕人要為你主人的兒子 米非波設 耕種田地，把所產的拿來供他食用；他卻要常與我同席吃飯。」 洗巴 有十五個兒子，二十個僕人。
10And thou shalt till the land for him, thou, and thy sons, and thy servants; and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have bread to eat; but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread continually at my table.' Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11洗巴 對王說：「凡我主我王吩咐僕人的，僕人都必遵行。」王又說：「 米非波設 必與我同席吃飯，如王的兒子一樣。」
11Then said Ziba unto the king: 'According to all that my lord the king commandeth his servant, so shall thy servant do; but Mephibosheth eateth at my table as one of the king's sons.'
12米非波設 有一個小兒子，名叫 米迦 。凡住在 洗巴 家裏的人都作了 米非波設 的僕人。
12Now Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
13於是 米非波設 住在 耶路撒冷 ，常與王同席吃飯。他兩腿都是瘸的。
13But Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he did eat continually at the king's table; and he was lame on both his feet.
