1以色列 眾支派來到 希伯崙 見 大衛 ，說：「我們原是你的骨肉。
1Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spoke, saying: 'Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2從前 掃羅 作我們王的時候，率領 以色列 人出入的是你；耶和華也曾應許你說：『你必牧養我的民 以色列 ，作 以色列 的君。』」
2In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was thou that didst lead out and bring in Israel; and the LORD said to thee: Thou shalt feed My people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.'
3於是 以色列 的長老都來到 希伯崙 見 大衛 王， 大衛 在 希伯崙 耶和華面前與他們立約，他們就膏 大衛 作 以色列 的王。
3So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel.
4大衛 登基的時候年三十歲，在位四十年；
4David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5在 希伯崙 作 猶大 王七年零六個月，在 耶路撒冷 作 以色列 和 猶大 王三十三年。
5In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
6大衛 和跟隨他的人到了 耶路撒冷 ，要攻打住那地方的 耶布斯 人。 耶布斯 人對 大衛 說：「你若不趕出瞎子、瘸子，必不能進這地方」；心裏想 大衛 決不能進去。
6And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke unto David, saying: 'Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither'; thinking: 'David cannot come in hither.'
7然而 大衛 攻取 錫安 的保障，就是 大衛 的城。
7Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
8當日， 大衛 說：「誰攻打 耶布斯 人，當上水溝 攻打 我心裏所恨惡的瘸子、瞎子。」從此有俗語說：「在那裏有瞎子、瘸子，他不能進屋去。」
8And David said on that day: 'Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, and getteth up to the gutter, and taketh away the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul — .' Wherefore they say: 'There are the blind and the lame; he cannot come into the house.'
9大衛 住在保障裏，給保障起名叫 大衛城 。 大衛 又從 米羅 以裏，周圍築牆。
9And David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
10大衛 日見強盛，因為耶和華－萬軍之上帝與他同在。
10And David waxed greater and greater; for the LORD, the God of hosts, was with him.
11泰爾 王 希蘭 將香柏木運到 大衛 那裏，又差遣使者和木匠、石匠給 大衛 建造宮殿。
11And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.
12大衛 就知道耶和華堅立他作 以色列 王，又為自己的民 以色列 使他的國興旺。
12And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that He had exalted his kingdom for His people Israel's sake.
13大衛 離開 希伯崙 之後，在 耶路撒冷 又立后妃，又生兒女。
13And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
14在 耶路撒冷 所生的兒子是 沙母亞 、 朔罷 、 拿單 、 所羅門 、
14And these are the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon;
15益轄 、 以利書亞 、 尼斐 、 雅非亞 、
15and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia;
16以利沙瑪 、 以利雅大 、 以利法列 。
16and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.
17非利士 人聽見人膏 大衛 作 以色列 王， 非利士 眾人就上來尋索 大衛 ； 大衛 聽見，就下到保障。
17And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.
18非利士 人來了，布散在 利乏音谷 。
18Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19大衛 求問耶和華說：「我可以上去攻打 非利士 人嗎？你將他們交在我手裏嗎？」耶和華說：「你可以上去，我必將 非利士 人交在你手裏。」
19And David inquired of the LORD, saying: 'Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt Thou deliver them into my hand?' And the LORD said unto David: 'Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thy hand.'
20大衛 來到 巴力‧毗拉心 ，在那裏擊殺 非利士 人，說：「耶和華在我面前沖破敵人，如同水沖去一般。」因此稱那地方為 巴力‧毗拉心 。
20And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said: 'The LORD hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters.' Therefore the name of that place was called Baal-perazim.
21非利士 人將偶像撇在那裏， 大衛 和跟隨他的人拿去了。
21And they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.
22非利士 人又上來，布散在 利乏音谷 。
22And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
23大衛 求問耶和華；耶和華說：「不要一直地上去，要轉到他們後頭，從桑林對面攻打他們。
23And when David inquired of the LORD, He said: 'Thou shalt not go up; make a circuit behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry-trees.
24你聽見桑樹梢上有腳步的聲音，就要急速前去，因為那時耶和華已經在你前頭去攻打 非利士 人的軍隊。」
24And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then is the LORD gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.'
25大衛 就遵着耶和華所吩咐的去行，攻打 非利士 人，從 迦巴 直到 基色 。
25And David did so, as the LORD commanded him, and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gezer.
