1大衛 年間有饑荒，一連三年， 大衛 就求問耶和華。耶和華說：「這饑荒是因 掃羅 和他流人血之家殺死 基遍 人。」
1And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. And the LORD said: 'It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Gibeonites.'
2原來這 基遍 人不是 以色列 人，乃是 亞摩利 人中所剩的； 以色列 人曾向他們起誓， 不殺滅他們 ， 掃羅 卻為 以色列 人和 猶大 人發熱心，想要殺滅他們。 大衛 王召了他們來，
2And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them — now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them; and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah —
3問他們說：「我當為你們怎樣行呢？可用甚麼贖這罪，使你們為耶和華的產業祝福呢？」
3and David said unto the Gibeonites: 'What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?'
4基遍 人回答說：「我們和 掃羅 與他家的事並不關乎金銀，也不要因我們的緣故殺一個 以色列 人。」 大衛 說：「你們怎樣說，我就為你們怎樣行。」
4And the Gibeonites said unto him: 'It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul, or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel.' And he said: 'What say ye that I should do for you?'
5他們對王說：「那從前謀害我們、要滅我們、使我們不得再住 以色列 境內的人，
5And they said unto the king: 'The man that consumed us, and that devised against us, so that we have been destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,
6現在願將他的子孫七人交給我們，我們好在耶和華面前，將他們懸掛在耶和華揀選 掃羅 的 基比亞 。」王說：「我必交給你們。」
6let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD.' And the king said: 'I will deliver them.'
7王因為曾與 掃羅 的兒子 約拿單 指着耶和華起誓 結盟 ，就愛惜 掃羅 的孫子、 約拿單 的兒子 米非波設 ， 不交出來 ，
7But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD'S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8卻把 愛雅 的女兒 利斯巴 給 掃羅 所生的兩個兒子 亞摩尼 、 米非波設 ，和 掃羅 女兒 米甲 的姊姊 給 米何拉 人 巴西萊 兒子 亞得列 所生的五個兒子
8But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite;
9交在 基遍 人的手裏。 基遍 人就把他們，在耶和華面前，懸掛在山上，這七人就一同死亡。被殺的時候正是收割的日子，就是動手割大麥的時候。
9and he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the mountain before the LORD, and they fell all seven together; and they were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, at the beginning of barley harvest.
10愛雅 的女兒 利斯巴 用麻布在磐石上搭棚，從動手收割的時候直到天降雨在屍身上的時候，日間不容空中的雀鳥落在屍身上，夜間不讓田野的走獸前來糟踐。
10And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water was poured upon them from heaven; and she suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
11有人將 掃羅 的妃嬪 愛雅 女兒 利斯巴 所行的這事告訴 大衛 。
11And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12大衛 就去，從 基列‧雅比 人那裏將 掃羅 和他兒子 約拿單 的骸骨搬了來（是因 非利士 人從前在 基利波 殺 掃羅 ，將屍身懸掛在 伯‧珊 的街市上， 基列‧雅比 人把屍身偷了去。）
12And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the broad place of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, in the day that the Philistines slew Saul in Gilboa;
13大衛 將 掃羅 和他兒子 約拿單 的骸骨從那裏搬了來，又收殮被懸掛七人的骸骨，
13and he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
14將 掃羅 和他兒子 約拿單 的骸骨葬在 便雅憫 的 洗拉 ，在 掃羅 父親 基士 的墳墓裏；眾人行了王所吩咐的。此後上帝垂聽國民所求的。
14And they buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the sepulchre of Kish his father; and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.
15非利士 人與 以色列 人打仗； 大衛 帶領僕人下去，與 非利士 人接戰， 大衛 就疲乏了。
15And the Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines; and David waxed faint.
16偉人的一個兒子 以實‧比諾 要殺 大衛 ；他的銅槍重三百 舍客勒 ，又佩着新 刀 。
16And Ishbibenob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with new armour, thought to have slain David.
17但 洗魯雅 的兒子 亞比篩 幫助 大衛 ，攻打 非利士 人，將他殺死。當日，跟隨 大衛 的人向 大衛 起誓說：「以後你不可再與我們一同出戰，恐怕熄滅 以色列 的燈。」
17But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David swore unto him, saying: 'Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the lamp of Israel.'
18後來， 以色列 人在 歌伯 與 非利士 人打仗， 戶沙 人 西比該 殺了偉人的一個兒子 撒弗 。
18And it came to pass after this, that there was again war with the Philistines at Gob; then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.
19又在 歌伯 與 非利士 人打仗， 伯利恆 人 雅雷俄珥金 的兒子 伊勒哈難 殺了 迦特 人 歌利亞 。這人的槍桿粗如織布的機軸。
19And there was again war with the Philistines at Gob; and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim the Beth-lehemite slew Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20又在 迦特 打仗，那裏有一個身量高大的人，手腳都是六指，共有二十四個指頭；他也是偉人的兒子。
20And there was again war at Gath, where was a champion, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
21這人向 以色列 人罵陣， 大衛 的哥哥 示米亞 的兒子 約拿單 就殺了他。
21And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.
22這四個人是 迦特 偉人的兒子，都死在 大衛 和他僕人的手下。
22These four were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
