1奉上帝旨意，蒙召作耶穌基督使徒的 保羅 ，同兄弟 所提尼 ，
1Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
2寫信給在 哥林多 上帝的教會，就是在基督耶穌裏成聖、蒙召作聖徒的，以及所有在各處求告我主耶穌基督之名的人。基督是他們的 主 ，也是我們的 主 。
2To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
3願恩惠、平安從上帝我們的父並主耶穌基督歸與你們。
3Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4我常為你們感謝我的上帝，因上帝在基督耶穌裏所賜給你們的恩惠；
4I always thank my God for you because of the grace He has given you in Christ Jesus.
5又因你們在他裏面凡事富足，口才、知識都全備，
5For in Him you have been enriched in every way, in all speech and all knowledge,
6正如 我為 基督 作 的見證，在你們心裏得以堅固，
6because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.
7以致你們在恩賜上沒有一樣不及人的，等候我們的主耶穌基督顯現。
7Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8他也必堅固你們到底，叫你們在我們主耶穌基督的日子無可責備。
8He will sustain you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9上帝是信實的，你們原是被他所召，好與他兒子－我們的主耶穌基督一同得分。
9God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
10弟兄們，我藉我們主耶穌基督的名勸你們都說一樣的話。你們中間也不可分黨，只要一心一意，彼此相合。
10I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree together, so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be united in mind and conviction.
11因為 革來 氏 家裏 的人曾對我提起弟兄們來，說你們中間有紛爭。
11My brothers, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you.
12我的意思就是你們各人說：「我是屬 保羅 的」；「我是屬 亞波羅 的」；「我是屬 磯法 的」；「我是屬基督的」。
12What I mean is this: Individuals among you are saying, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.”
13基督是分開的嗎？ 保羅 為你們釘了十字架嗎？你們是奉 保羅 的名受了洗嗎？
13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul?
14我感謝上帝，除了 基利司布 並 該猶 以外，我沒有給你們一個人施洗，
14I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,
15免得有人說，你們是奉我的名受洗。
15so no one can say that you were baptized into my name.
16我也給 司提法那 家施過洗，此外給別人施洗沒有，我卻記不清。
16Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that I do not remember if I baptized anyone else.
17基督差遣我，原不是為施洗，乃是為傳福音，並不用智慧的言語，免得基督的十字架落了空。
17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
18因為十字架的道理，在那滅亡的人為愚拙；在我們得救的人，卻為上帝的大能。
18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19就如 經上 所記： 我要滅絕智慧人的智慧， 廢棄聰明人的聰明。
19For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
20智慧人在哪裏？文士在哪裏？這世上的辯士在哪裏？上帝豈不是叫這世上的智慧變成愚拙嗎？
20Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21世人憑自己的智慧，既不認識上帝，上帝就樂意用 人所當作 愚拙的道理拯救那些信的人；這就是上帝的智慧了。
21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
22猶太 人是要神蹟， 希臘 人是求智慧，
22Jews demand signs and Greeks search for wisdom,
23我們卻是傳釘十字架的基督，在 猶太 人為絆腳石，在外邦人為愚拙；
23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
24但在那蒙召的，無論是 猶太 人、 希臘 人，基督總為上帝的能力，上帝的智慧。
24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25因上帝的愚拙總比人智慧，上帝的軟弱總比人強壯。
25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
26弟兄們哪，可見你們蒙召的，按着肉體有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊貴的也不多。
26Brothers, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth.
27上帝卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。
27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
28上帝也揀選了世上卑賤的，被人厭惡的，以及那無有的，為要廢掉那有的，
28He chose the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are,
29使一切有血氣的，在上帝面前一個也不能自誇。
29so that no one may boast in His presence.
30但你們得在基督耶穌裏是本乎上帝，上帝又使他成為我們的智慧、公義、聖潔、救贖。
30It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.
31如 經上 所記：「誇口的，當指着主誇口。」
31Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
