1巴兰 对 巴勒 说：「你在这里给我筑七座坛，为我预备七只公牛，七只公羊。」
1And Balaam said unto Balak: 'Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.'
2巴勒 照 巴兰 的话行了。 巴勒 和 巴兰 在每座坛上献一只公牛，一只公羊。
2And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.
3巴兰 对 巴勒 说：「你站在你的燔祭旁边，我且往前去，或者耶和华来迎见我。他指示我什么，我必告诉你。」于是 巴兰 上一净光的高处。
3And Balaam said unto Balak: 'Stand by thy burnt-offering, and I will go; peradventure the LORD will come to meet me; and whatsoever He showeth me I will tell thee.' And he went to a bare height.
4神迎见 巴兰 ； 巴兰 说：「我预备了七座坛，在每座坛上献了一只公牛，一只公羊。」
4And God met Balaam; and he said unto Him: 'I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered up a bullock and a ram on every altar.'
5耶和华将话传给 巴兰 ，又说：「你回到 巴勒 那里，要如此如此说。」
5And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said: 'Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.'
6他就回到 巴勒 那里，见他同 摩押 的使臣都站在燔祭旁边。
6And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt-offering, he, and all the princes of Moab.
7巴兰 便题起诗歌说： 巴勒 引我出 亚兰 ， 摩押 王引我出东山， 说 ： 来啊，为我咒诅 雅各 ； 来啊，怒骂 以色列 。
7And he took up his parable, and said: From Aram Balak bringeth me, the king of Moab from the mountains of the East: 'Come, curse me Jacob, and come, execrate Israel.'
8神没有咒诅的，我焉能咒诅？ 耶和华没有怒骂的，我焉能怒骂？
8How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? And how shall I execrate, whom the LORD hath not execrated?
9我从高峰看他，从小山望他； 这是独居的民，不列在万民中。
9For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, it is a people that shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
10谁能数点 雅各 的尘土？ 谁能计算 以色列 的四分之一？ 我愿如义人之死而死； 我愿如义人之终而终。
10Who hath counted the dust of Jacob, or numbered the stock of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let mine end be like his!
11巴勒 对 巴兰 说：「你向我做的是什么事呢？我领你来咒诅我的仇敌，不料，你竟为他们祝福。」
11And Balak said unto Balaam: 'What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.'
12他回答说：「耶和华传给我的话，我能不谨慎传说吗？」
12And he answered and said: 'Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD putteth in my mouth?'
13巴勒 说：「求你同我往别处去，在那里可以看见他们；你不能全看见，只能看见他们边界上的人。在那里要为我咒诅他们。」
13And Balak said unto him: 'Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them; thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all; and curse me them from thence.'
14于是领 巴兰 到了 琐腓田 ，上了 毗斯迦山 顶，筑了七座坛；每座坛上献一只公牛，一只公羊。
14And he took him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered up a bullock and a ram on every altar.
15巴兰 对 巴勒 说：「你站在这燔祭旁边，等我往那边去迎见 耶和华 。」
15And he said unto Balak: 'Stand here by thy burnt-offering, while I go toward a meeting yonder.'
16耶和华临到 巴兰 那里，将话传给他；又说：「你回到 巴勒 那里，要如此如此说。」
16And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said: 'Return unto Balak, and thus shalt thou speak.'
17他就回到 巴勒 那里，见他站在燔祭旁边； 摩押 的使臣也和他在一处。 巴勒 问他说：「耶和华说了什么话呢？」
17And he came to him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt-offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him: 'What hath the LORD spoken?'
18巴兰 就题诗歌说： 巴勒 ，你起来听； 西拨 的儿子，你听我言。
18And he took up his parable, and said: Arise, Balak, and hear; give ear unto me, thou son of Zippor:
19神非人，必不致说谎， 也非人子，必不致后悔。 他说话岂不照着行呢？ 他发言岂不要成就呢？
19God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: when He hath said, will He not do it? or when He hath spoken, will He not make it good?
20我奉 命 祝福； 神也曾赐福，此事我不能翻转。
20Behold, I am bidden to bless; and when He hath blessed, I cannot call it back.
21他未见 雅各 中有罪孽， 也未见 以色列 中有奸恶。 耶和华—他的 神和他同在； 有欢呼王的声音在他们中间。
21None hath beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath one seen perverseness in Israel; the LORD his God is with him, and the shouting for the King is among them.
22神领他们出 埃及 ； 他们似乎有野牛之力。
22God who brought them forth out of Egypt is for them like the lofty horns of the wild-ox.
23断没有法术可以害 雅各 ， 也没有占卜可以害 以色列 。 现在必有人论及 雅各 ，就是论及 以色列 说： 神为他行了何等的大事！
23For there is no enchantment with Jacob, neither is there any divination with Israel; now is it said of Jacob and of Israel: 'What hath God wrought!'
24这民起来，仿佛母狮， 挺身，好像公狮， 未曾吃野食， 未曾喝被伤者之血，决不躺卧。
24Behold a people that riseth up as a lioness, and as a lion doth he lift himself up; he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
25巴勒 对 巴兰 说：「你一点不要咒诅他们，也不要为他们祝福。」
25And Balak said unto Balaam: 'Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.'
26巴兰 回答 巴勒 说：「我岂不是告诉你说『凡耶和华所说的，我必须遵行』吗？」
26But Balaam answered and said unto Balak: 'Told not I thee, saying: All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?'
27巴勒 对 巴兰 说：「来吧，我领你往别处去，或者 神喜欢你在那里为我咒诅他们。」
27And Balak said unto Balaam: 'Come now, I will take thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.'
28巴勒 就领 巴兰 到那下望旷野的 毗珥 山 顶上。
28And Balak took Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh down upon the desert.
29巴兰 对 巴勒 说：「你在这里为我筑七座坛，又在这里为我预备七只公牛，七只公羊。」
29And Balaam said unto Balak: 'Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.'
30巴勒 就照 巴兰 的话行，在每座坛上献一只公牛，一只公羊。
30And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bullock and a ram on every altar.
