1І промовив Господь до Мойсея кажучи:
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2Помстись на Мидіянїях за синів Ізрайлевих; тодї прилучиш ся до предків твоїх.
2“Avenge the children of Israel on the Midianites. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people.”
3І промовив Мойсей до люду словами: Оружіть людей зміж вас на війну, щоб ійти їм на Мидіянїя, сповнити помсту Господню на Мидіянїєві.
3Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for war, that they may go against Midian, to execute the LORD’s vengeance on Midian.
4По тисячі чоловіка з одного поколїння, від усїх поколїнь Ізрайлевих вишлете і поставите до війська.
4You shall send one thousand out of every tribe, throughout all the tribes of Israel, to the war.”
5І вибрали зміж тисячей Ізраїля по тисячі чоловіка з кожного поколїння, дванайцять тисяч оружних на війну.
5So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand from every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6І вислав їх Мойсей, по тисячі з кожного поколїння, на війну, їх і Пінегаса Єлеазаренка, сьвященника, на війну; а посуди сьвятинї і труби для трівоги були в його руках.
6Moses sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war with Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7І почали вони бити Мидіяна, як заповідав Господь Мойсейові, та й повбивали ввесь музький пол.
7They fought against Midian, as the LORD commanded Moses. They killed every male.
8І вбили вони опріч инших вбитих царів Мидіяна: Евія і опріч инших Рекема і Зура і Гура і Реба, пятьох царів Мидіянських; так само Білеама Бейоренка вбили мечем.
8They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.
9І сини Ізраїля позаймали в полонь все жіноцтво Мидіянське і дїтвору їх, і забрали здобичу, скотину їх і всї отари їх, і всї достатки їх;
9The children of Israel took the women of Midian captive with their little ones; and all their livestock, all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as plunder.
10А всї міста їх, по займаньщинах їх, і всї оселї їх пустили на пожар.
10All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire.
11І взяли всю здобич і все награбоване, людей і скотину,
11They took all the captives, and all the plunder, both of man and of animal.
12Та й привели бранцїв і награблене і здобич до Мойсея і до Елеазара сьвященника, і до громади синів Ізраїля у табір, на поділлє Моабське, що на Йорданї, проти Єрихона.
12They brought the captives with the prey and the plunder, to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.
13І вийшли Мойсей та Єлеазар сьвященник і всї князї громадські назустріч їм перед табором.
13Moses and Eleazar the priest, with all the princes of the congregation, went out to meet them outside of the camp.
14І розгнївився Мойсей на воєводів та на тисячників і на сотників, що з війни вернулись;
14Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15І каже до них Мойсей: Про що ви зоставили живими все жіноцтво?
15Moses said to them, “Have you saved all the women alive?
16Се ж вони були по радї Білеама принадою синам Ізрайлевим, щоб вони вчинили зраду проти Господа, задля Пейора, через що й був помір у громадї Господнїй.
16Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of the LORD.
17Оце ж повбивайте всїх дїтей музького полу, і все жіноцтво, що пізнало мужчину, злїгшись, також повбивайте.
17Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
18Всїх же дїтей жіночого полу, дївчат, що не пізнали ложа з чоловіком, позоставляйте живими для себе.
18But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19А ви самі пробудете поза табором сїм день, кожен, хто вбив чоловіка і кожен, хто приторкнувсь до вбитого, всї ви очиститесь в третїй день і в семий день, ви і полоняни ваші,
19“Encamp outside of the camp for seven days. Whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20Мусите ви очистити і всяку одїж і всяку посудину шкіряну, і всяку роботу з козиної шерстї і всяку посудину деревяну.
20You shall purify every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.”
21І сказав Єлеазар сьвященник до всїх людей військових, що ходили на війну: Се установа закону, що заповідав Господь Мойсейові:
21Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses.
22Тільки золото й срібло, мідь, зелїзо, цина й олово,
22However the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23Усе що держиться в огнї, мусите проводити через огонь, щоб стало чистим; а все таки мусите його водою очищення од гріха очистити; а все, що не видержить в огнї, проведете через воду.
23everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity. All that doesn’t withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.
24І повипираєте одїж свою в семий день, і станете чистими, а тодї ввійдете до табору.
24You shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean. Afterward you shall come into the camp.”
25І промовив Господь до Мойсея словами:
25The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
26Перелїчи здобичу, людей і скотину, ти і Єлеазар сьвященник і голови родин всієї громади;
26“Count the plunder that was taken, both of man and of animal, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the congregation;
27Та й подїлїть здобичу по половинї між тими, що воювали, і всією громадою.
27and divide the plunder into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
28І возьми данину для Господа від тих, що становились у військові лави: одну душу із пятьсот, з людей та з буйної скотини та з ослів та з дрібної скотини;
28Levy a tribute to the LORD of the men of war who went out to battle: one soul of five hundred; of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks.
29Із їх половини возьмеш се та й оддаси Єлеазарові сьвященникові як жертву возношення Господеві.
29Take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for the LORD’s wave offering.
30А з половини, що дістанеться синам Ізрайлевим, возьмеш одну душу із пятьдесять, із людей, та з буйної скотини, та з ослів, та з дрібної скотини, з усякої скотини; і віддаси Левітам, що доглядають храмини Господньої.
30Of the children of Israel’s half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Levites, who perform the duty of the LORD’s tabernacle.”
31І вчинили Мойсей та Єлеазар сьвященник так, як заповідав Господь Мойсейові.
31Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
32І була добич, оставшаяся від захопленого, що захопив люд військовий, така: дрібної скотини шістьсот і сїмдесять і пять тисяч,
32Now the plunder, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep,
33А буйної скотини сїмдесять і дві тисячі,
33seventy-two thousand head of cattle,
34А ослів шістьдесять і одна тисяча;
34sixty-one thousand donkeys,
35Що ж до душ людських, то було дївчат, що не знали ложа мужнього, всїх, трийцять і дві тисячі душ.
35and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
36А друга половина, пай тих, що стояли у військових лавах, була по перелїченю така: дрібної скотини триста трийцять сїм тисяч і пятьсот.
36The half, which was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep;
37А данина для Господа з дрібної скотини була: шістьсот сїмдесять і пять штук;
37and the LORD’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred seventy-five.
38А буйної скотини було трийцять і шість тисяч, з того данина для Господа була: сїмдесять і дві штуки;
38The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which the LORD’s tribute was seventy-two.
39А ослів було трийцять тисяч і пятьсот, а данина для Господа з них шістьдесять і одна штука;
39The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which the LORD’s tribute was sixty-one.
40Душ же людських було шіснайцять тисяч, а з них данина для Господа трийцять і дві душі.
40The persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the LORD’s tribute was thirty-two persons.
41І віддав Мойсей Єлеазарові, сьвященникові, данину на жертву возношення Господеві, як повелїв Господь Мойсейові.
41Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD’s wave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
42А з половини, що випала синам Ізрайлевим, що віддїлив Мойсей від другої половини, що була для людей військових,
42Of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided off from the men who fought
43Була ж половина, що випала для громади, така: триста трийцять сїм тисяч і пятьсот штук малої скотини,
43(now the congregation’s half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
44Та буйної скотини: трийцять і шість тисяч,
44thirty-six thousand head of cattle,
45Та ослів: трийцять тисяч і пятьсот,
45thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
46Та й душ людьких: шіснайцять тисяч душ.
46and sixteen thousand persons),
47А з половини, що випала синам Ізрайлевим, взяв Мойсей одну душу із пятьдесять, із людей та із скотини, та й віддав Левітам, що доглядали храмини Господньої; так як заповідав Господь Мойсейові.
47even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites, who performed the duty of the LORD’s tabernacle, as the LORD commanded Moses.
48І приступили до Мойсея воєводи та тисячники та сотники, та й промовили до Мойсея:
48The officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses.
49Слуги твої перелїчили військових людей, що поручені нам, і не бракує з нас нї одного чоловіка:
49They said to Moses, “Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us.
50І оце ж приносимо ми приніс Господеві, що хто знайшов із золотих річей: обручки, ланьцюжки, перстенї, сережки й намиста, щоб відправити за душі наші покуту перед Господом.
50We have brought the LORD’s offering, what every man found: gold ornaments, armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before the LORD.”
51І взяли в них Мойсей та Єлеазар сьвященник золото всїлякої штучної роботи.
51Moses and Eleazar the priest took their gold, even all worked jewels.
52І було всього золота, принесеного в жертву возношення Господеві шістьдесять тисяч сїмсот і пятьдесять секлїв, від тисячників і від сотників.
52All the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred fifty shekels.
53Люде ж військові грабили кожен для себе.
53The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.
54І взяли Мойсей та Єлеазар сьвященник золото у тисячників і сотників, і внесли його в соборний намет, як спомин від синів Ізраїля перед Господом.
54Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
