1耶和華吩咐 摩西 說：
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2「你要在 米甸 人身上報 以色列 人的仇，後來要歸到你列祖那裏。」
2“Avenge the children of Israel on the Midianites. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people.”
3摩西 吩咐百姓說：「要從你們中間叫人帶兵器出去攻擊 米甸 ，好在 米甸 人身上為耶和華報仇。
3Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for war, that they may go against Midian, to execute the LORD’s vengeance on Midian.
4從 以色列 眾支派中，每支派要打發一千人去打仗。」
4You shall send one thousand out of every tribe, throughout all the tribes of Israel, to the war.”
5於是從 以色列 千萬人中，每支派交出一千人，共一萬二千人，帶着兵器預備打仗。
5So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand from every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6摩西 就打發每支派的一千人去打仗，並打發祭司 以利亞撒 的兒子 非尼哈 同去； 非尼哈 手裏拿着聖所的器皿和吹大聲的號筒。
6Moses sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war with Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7他們就照耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的，與 米甸 人打仗，殺了所有的男丁。
7They fought against Midian, as the LORD commanded Moses. They killed every male.
8在所殺的人中，殺了 米甸 的五王，就是 以未 、 利金 、 蘇珥 、 戶珥 、 利巴 ，又用刀殺了 比珥 的兒子 巴蘭 。
8They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.
9以色列 人擄了 米甸 人的婦女孩子，並將他們的牲畜、羊群，和所有的財物都奪了來，當作擄物，
9The children of Israel took the women of Midian captive with their little ones; and all their livestock, all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as plunder.
10又用火焚燒他們所住的城邑和所有的營寨，
10All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire.
11把一切所奪的、所擄的，連人帶牲畜都帶了去，
11They took all the captives, and all the plunder, both of man and of animal.
12將所擄的人，所奪的牲畜、財物，都帶到 摩押 平原，在 約旦河 邊與 耶利哥 相對的營盤，交給 摩西 和祭司 以利亞撒 ，並 以色列 的會眾。
12They brought the captives with the prey and the plunder, to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.
13摩西 和祭司 以利亞撒 ，並會眾一切的首領，都出到營外迎接他們。
13Moses and Eleazar the priest, with all the princes of the congregation, went out to meet them outside of the camp.
14摩西 向打仗回來的軍長，就是千夫長、百夫長，發怒，
14Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15對他們說：「你們要存留這一切婦女的活命嗎？
15Moses said to them, “Have you saved all the women alive?
16這些婦女因 巴蘭 的計謀，叫 以色列 人在 毗珥 的事上得罪耶和華，以致耶和華的會眾遭遇瘟疫。
16Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of the LORD.
17所以，你們要把一切的男孩和所有已嫁的女子都殺了。
17Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
18但女孩子中，凡沒有出嫁的，你們都可以存留她的活命。
18But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19你們要在營外駐紮七日；凡殺了人的，和一切摸了被殺的，並你們所擄來的人口，第三日，第七日，都要潔淨自己，
19“Encamp outside of the camp for seven days. Whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20也要因一切的衣服、皮物、山羊 毛 織的物，和各樣的木器，潔淨自己。」
20You shall purify every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.”
21祭司 以利亞撒 對打仗回來的兵丁說：「耶和華所吩咐 摩西 律法中的條例乃是這樣：
21Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses.
22金、銀、銅、鐵、錫、鉛，
22However the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23凡能見火的，你們要叫它經火就為潔淨，然而還要用除污穢的水潔淨它；凡不能見火的，你們要叫它過水。
23everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity. All that doesn’t withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.
24第七日，你們要洗衣服，就為潔淨，然後可以進營。」
24You shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean. Afterward you shall come into the camp.”
25耶和華曉諭 摩西 說：
25The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
26「你和祭司 以利亞撒 ，並會眾的各族長，要計算所擄來的人口和牲畜的總數。
26“Count the plunder that was taken, both of man and of animal, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the congregation;
27把所擄來的分作兩半：一半歸與出去打仗的精兵，一半歸與全會眾。
27and divide the plunder into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
28又要從出去打仗所得的人口、牛、驢、羊群中，每五百取一，作為貢物奉給耶和華。
28Levy a tribute to the LORD of the men of war who went out to battle: one soul of five hundred; of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks.
29從他們一半之中，要取出來交給祭司 以利亞撒 ，作為耶和華的舉祭。
29Take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for the LORD’s wave offering.
30從 以色列 人的一半之中，就是從人口、牛、驢、羊群、各樣牲畜中，每五十取一，交給看守耶和華帳幕的 利未 人。」
30Of the children of Israel’s half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Levites, who perform the duty of the LORD’s tabernacle.”
31於是 摩西 和祭司 以利亞撒 照耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的行了。
31Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
32除了兵丁所奪的財物以外，所擄來的：羊六十七萬五千隻；
32Now the plunder, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep,
33牛七萬二千隻；
33seventy-two thousand head of cattle,
34驢六萬一千匹；
34sixty-one thousand donkeys,
35女人共三萬二千口，都是沒有出嫁的。
35and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
36出去打仗之人的分，就是他們所得的那一半，共計羊三十三萬七千五百隻，
36The half, which was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep;
37從其中歸耶和華為貢物的，有六百七十五隻；
37and the LORD’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred seventy-five.
38牛三萬六千隻，從其中歸耶和華為貢物的，有七十二隻；
38The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which the LORD’s tribute was seventy-two.
39驢三萬零五百匹，從其中歸耶和華為貢物的，有六十一匹；
39The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which the LORD’s tribute was sixty-one.
40人一萬六千口，從其中歸耶和華的，有三十二口。
40The persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the LORD’s tribute was thirty-two persons.
41摩西 把貢物，就是歸與耶和華的舉祭，交給祭司 以利亞撒 ，是照耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的。
41Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD’s wave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
42以色列 人所得的那一半，就是 摩西 從打仗的人取來分給他們的。（
42Of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided off from the men who fought
43會眾的那一半有：羊三十三萬七千五百隻；
43(now the congregation’s half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
44牛三萬六千隻；
44thirty-six thousand head of cattle,
45驢三萬零五百匹；
45thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
46人一萬六千口。）
46and sixteen thousand persons),
47無論是人口是牲畜， 摩西 每五十取一，交給看守耶和華帳幕的 利未 人，是照耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的。
47even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites, who performed the duty of the LORD’s tabernacle, as the LORD commanded Moses.
48帶領千軍的各軍長，就是千夫長、百夫長，都近前來見 摩西 ，
48The officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses.
49對他說：「僕人權下的兵已經計算總數，並不短少一人。
49They said to Moses, “Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us.
50如今我們將各人所得的金器，就是腳鍊子、鐲子、打印的戒指、耳環、手釧，都送來為耶和華的供物，好在耶和華面前為我們的生命贖罪。」
50We have brought the LORD’s offering, what every man found: gold ornaments, armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before the LORD.”
51摩西 和祭司 以利亞撒 就收了他們的金子，都是打成的器皿。
51Moses and Eleazar the priest took their gold, even all worked jewels.
52千夫長、百夫長所獻給耶和華為舉祭的金子共有一萬六千七百五十舍客勒。
52All the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred fifty shekels.
53各兵丁都為自己奪了財物。
53The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.
54摩西 和祭司 以利亞撒 收了千夫長、百夫長的金子，就帶進會幕，在耶和華面前作為 以色列 人的紀念。
54Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
