1В той день буде в землї Юдиній ся пісня сьпіватись: Місто кріпке в нас; він спасеннє дав нам замість мурів і валів.
1In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; walls and bulwarks doth He appoint for salvation.
2Відчиняйте ворота, нехай ввійде народ праведний, що любить правду.
2Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation that keepeth faithfulness may enter in.
3Твердого духом хорониш ти в повному впокої, за те, що він на тебе вповає.
3The mind stayed on Thee Thou keepest in perfect peace; because it trusteth in Thee.
4Вповайте ж на Господа повіки, бо Господь Бог — се твердиня вічна.
4Trust ye in the LORD for ever, for the LORD is GOD, an everlasting Rock.
5Він поскидав тих, що згорда високо неслися, — той високий город; скинув його, поверг його, скинув у порох.
5For He hath brought down them that dwell on high, the lofty city, laying it low, laying it low even to the ground, bringing it even to the dust.
6Топче його нога, ноги вбогого, стопи нуждарів.
6The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.
7Путь праведного рівна; ти вирівнуєш стежку праведному.
7The way of the just is straight; Thou, Most Upright, makest plain the path of the just.
8(стоячи) На стежцї судів твоїх, Господи, ми вповали на тебе; до твого імени й памяті про тебе змагала душа наша.
8Yea, in the way of Thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for Thee; to Thy name and to Thy memorial is the desire of our soul.
9Душею моєю взлїтав я поночі до тебе, й духом у внутрі моєму буду шукати тебе з досьвітнього ранку; коли бо присуди твої дїються на землї, тодї живущі на сьвітї навчаються справедливостї.
9With my soul have I desired Thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me have I sought Thee earnestly; for when Thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
10Як безбожний буде помилуваний, — не навчиться справедливостї; він коїти ме лихо в землї праведних, та й не буде оглядатись на Господню велич.
10Let favour be shown to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness will he deal wrongfully, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
11Господи! ти знімав правицю твою високо, та вони не бачили її; нехай же побачать і засоромляться ненавидники люду твого; огонь твій нехай пожере ворогів твоїх.
11LORD, Thy hand was lifted up, yet they see not; they shall see with shame Thy zeal for the people; yea, fire shall devour Thine adversaries.
12Господи! ти даруєш мир; бо ж усї справи наші ти нам устроюєш.
12LORD, Thou wilt establish peace for us; for Thou hast indeed wrought all our works for us.
13Господи, Боже наш! над нами крім тебе панували володарі другі; та ми задля тебе одного імя твоє шануєм.
13O LORD our God, other lords beside Thee have had dominion over us; but by Thee only do we make mention of Thy name.
14Мертві вже не ожиють; велетнї не встануть, бо ти навідався й вигубив їх, та затратив всю память про них.
14The dead live not, the shades rise not; to that end hast Thou punished and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
15Ти намножив люд, Господи, велико намножив; ти прославив себе, розширив гряницї землї.
15Thou hast gotten Thee honour with the nations, O LORD, yea, exceeding great honour with the nations; Thou art honoured unto the farthest ends of the earth.
16Господи! він же тілько в нуждї шукав тебе; виливав тихі молитви, коли кари твої спадали на його.
16LORD, in trouble have they sought Thee, silently they poured out a prayer when Thy chastening was upon them.
17Мов та вагітна, як прийде час їй родити, мучиться, кричить у болях, оттак бували й ми перед тобою.
17Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been at Thy presence, O LORD.
18І ми бували вагітні, мучились, — та родили хиба вітер; спасення-добра не приспорили землї, й невірні осадники землї не попадали.
18We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the land; neither are the inhabitants of the world come to life.
19Та мерцї твої ожиють, устануть мертві тїла! Оживайте ж, веселїтесь, що в порох лягли; бо роса в тебе, — роса, що живить травицю, й земля викине померших.
19Thy dead shall live, my dead bodies shall arise — awake and sing, ye that dwell in the dust — for Thy dew is as the dew of light, and the earth shall bring to life the shades.
20Ійди ж, народе мій, ввійди в свої хатини; зачини за собою двері, сховайся на часинку, докіль гнїв перейде;
20Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee; hide thyself for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21Ось бо, Господь вийде з пробутку свого покарати земнородних за їх беззаконство; й земля видасть із себе кров, що повсисала; не таїти ме вже своїх убитих.
21For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of His place to visit upon the inhabitants of the earth their iniquity; the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
