1В дванайцятому роцї, в одинайцятому місяцї, первого дня в місяцї, надійшло до мене слово Господнє:
1In the twelfth year, on the first day of the twelfth month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2Сину чоловічий! заголоси над Фараоном, царем Египецьким, і промов до його: Ти, наче левчук між народами, й мов кит у морі, кидаєшся в ріцї твоїй, каламутиш води ногами, й бовтаєш потоки їх.
2“Son of man, take up a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: ‘You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churning up the waters with your feet and muddying the streams.’
3От же що говорить Господь Бог: Я закину на тебе сїть мою руками многих народів, і витягнуть вони тебе моїм неводом.
3This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will spread My net over you with a company of many peoples, and they will draw you up in My net.
4І викину тебе на суху землю, на відкрите поле кину тебе, й сїдати ме на тебе піднебесне птаство й зьвіррє всієї країни буде живитись трупом твоїм.
4I will abandon you on the land and hurl you into the open field. I will cause all the birds of the air to settle upon you, and all the beasts of the earth to eat their fill of you.
5І розкидаю мясо з тебе по горах, і яри позаповнюю твоїми трупами.
5I will put your flesh on the mountains and fill the valleys with your remains.
6Де ти плавав колись, — тую землю наповню я кровю з тебе аж до гір; вона залиє й байраки.
6I will drench the land with the flow of your blood, all the way to the mountains— the ravines will be filled.
7А як ти згаснеш, я небо закрию, й зорі затемню, сонце хмарою вкрию, й місяць не буде сьвітити сьвітлом своїм.
7When I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.
8Сьвітила всї на небі втоплю у мрацї, а земля твоя потоне в пітьмі, говорить Господь.
8All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you, and I will bring darkness upon your land,’ declares the Lord GOD.
9Приведу в зворушеннє серця многих народів, коли рознесу чутку про твій упад по тих землях, що ти й не знав їх.
9‘I will trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring about your destruction among the nations, in countries you do not know.
10І приведу тобою в перестрах многі народи, й царі їх затремтять зо страху, коли мечем моїм замахну перед лицями в них, і тремтїти муть всї що хвилини, кожен за душу свою, як ти впадеш.
10I will cause many peoples to be appalled over you, and their kings will shudder in horror because of you when I brandish My sword before them. On the day of your downfall each of them will tremble every moment for his life.’
11Так бо говорить Господь Бог: Меч царя Вавилонського прийде на тебе.
11For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you!
12Від мечів у тих сильних поляже нарід твій; вони — сї найлютїйші зміж народів, упокорять гординю Египту, й погибне все множество його. —
12I will make your hordes fall by the swords of the mighty, the most ruthless of all nations. They will ravage the pride of Egypt and all her multitudes will be destroyed.
13І вигублю всю скотину його при водах великих; не буде вже їх мутити нога людська та й череда каламутити вже їх не буде.
13I will slaughter all her cattle beside the abundant waters. No human foot will muddy them again, and no cattle hooves will disturb them.
14Тодї дам спокій водам їх, і вчиню, що води текти муть, як олива, чисті, говорить Господь.
14Then I will let her waters settle and will make her rivers flow like oil,’ declares the Lord GOD.
15Як зроблю я Египет пустинею, а земля опорожнїє з усього, чим вона була повна, як перебю всїх, що на нїй живуть, тодї спізнають, що я — Господь.
15‘When I make the land of Egypt a desolation and empty it of all that filled it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the LORD.’
16Оце та плакальна пісня, що її будуть сьпівати; дочки народів сьпівати муть її; над Египтом і над усією многотою людей його будуть нею голосити, говорить Господь Бог.
16This is the lament they will chant for her; the daughters of the nations will chant it. Over Egypt and all her multitudes they will chant it, declares the Lord GOD.”
17І надійшло в дванайцятому роцї, у пятнайцятий день місяця слово Господнє до мене, таке:
17In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
18Сину чоловічий! заголоси по Египецькому народові та й поскидай (віщим словом) його й дочки потужних народів у преисподню до тих, що посходили в яму.
18“Son of man, wail for the multitudes of Egypt, and consign her and the daughters of the mighty nations to the depths of the earth with those who descend to the Pit:
19Кого ти перевисшив? Ійди, лежи з необрізаними!
19Whom do you surpass in beauty? Go down and be placed with the uncircumcised!
20Тії попадають між побитими мечем, та й він одданий мечу; тягнїть його туди з усїм людом його!
20They will fall among those slain by the sword. The sword is appointed! Let them drag her away along with all her multitudes.
21Посеред підземля говорити муть про него та про підпомочників його передні між невміраками: Попровалювались, лежать посеред необрізаних, посїчені мечем.
21Mighty chiefs will speak from the midst of Sheol about Egypt and her allies: ‘They have come down and lie with the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword.’
22Тут Ассур і вся сила його; гроби їх навкруг його; всїх їх повбивано, посїчено мечем.
22Assyria is there with her whole company; her graves are all around her. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword.
23Гріб його в самій глибинї преисподньої, а полки його — навкруги домовини його; всї побиті, всї полягли од меча, — тоті, що завдавали колись страху на землї живих.
23Her graves are set in the depths of the Pit, and her company is all around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword— those who once spread terror in the land of the living.
24Там Елам із усією силою своєю навкруги домовини його, а всї вони побиті, всї полягли од меча, всї необрізаними пійшли на той сьвіт, — тоті, що колись ширили страх поперед себе на землї живих, а тепер двигають ганьбу свою вкупі з тими, що зойшли в яму.
24Elam is there with all her multitudes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword— those who went down uncircumcised to the earth below, who once spread their terror in the land of the living. They bear their disgrace with those who descend to the Pit.
25Серед побитих наготовано лїгво його з усїм військом його; домовини їх округи його, а всї вони необрізані, мечем порубані; позаяк бо вони завдавали страху на землї живих, то й несуть тепер ганьбу на собі вкупі з тими, що посходили в яму, та лежать серед побитих.
25Among the slain they prepare a resting place for Elam with all her hordes, with her graves all around her. All of them are uncircumcised, slain by the sword, although their terror was once spread in the land of the living. They bear their disgrace with those who descend to the Pit. They are placed among the slain.
26Там лежить Мешех, Тубал із усією громадою своєю; кругом його домовини їх, а всї необрізані, побиті мечем, за те, що перше завдавали страху всїм на землї живих.
26Meshech and Tubal are there with all their multitudes, with their graves all around them. All of them are uncircumcised, slain by the sword, because they spread their terror in the land of the living.
27А годї їм лежати коло невміраків побитих, необрізаних, що посходили в підземлє у своїй боєвій зброї, а мечі їх покладено їм під голови, хоч і зосталось беззаконство їх на костях у них, за те, що вони, як силачі, були пострахом на землї живих.
27They do not lie down with the fallen warriors of old, who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads, whose shields rested on their bones, although the terror of the mighty was once in the land of the living.
28Та й ти стертий будеш між необрізаними й лежати меш із побитими мечем.
28But you too will be shattered and lie down among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword.
29Там — Едом, царі його й усї князї його, що мимо всієї своєї хоробростї зложені між побитими мечем; коло необрізаних лежять вони й коло тих, що посходили в яму.
29Edom is there, and all her kings and princes, who despite their might are laid among those slain by the sword. They lie down with the uncircumcised, with those who descend to the Pit.
30Там князї півночні вкупі з усїма Сидонїями, що посходили з сьвіта побиті; вони ж осоромлені через могучість свою, бо вона наводила страх; лежать же вони з необрізаними, побитими мечем й несуть ганьбу свою на собі вкупі з тими, що посходили в яму.
30All the leaders of the north and all the Sidonians are there; they went down in disgrace with the slain, despite the terror of their might. They lie uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bear their shame with those who descend to the Pit.
31Побачить їх Фараон і зрадїє тою многотою, побитою мечем, — Фараон і все військо його, говорить Господь Бог.
31Pharaoh will see them and be comforted over all his multitude— Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword, declares the Lord GOD.
32Бо й я розширю страх мій на землї живих і ляже Фараон і вся многота його серед необрізаних, побитих мечем, говорить Господь Бог.
32For I will spread My terror in the land of the living, so that Pharaoh and all his multitude will be laid to rest among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword, declares the Lord GOD.”
