Bible Mutal (Kosraean)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1Tulik nutik, kowos in porongo mwe luti lun papa tomowos. Arulana lohang nu kac, na ac fah oasr etauk lowos.
1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend that you may know prudence.
2Nga luti kowos ke inkanek wo. Nimet kowos pilesru.
2I will give you a good gift, forsake not my law.
3Ke nga srakna tulik srisrik, wen sefanna nutin papa ac nina,
3For I also was my father’s son, tender and as an only son in the sight of my mother:
4papa el ac fahk, “Esamya ma nga fahk inge, ac nimet mulkunla. Oru in oana ke nga fahk uh, na kom fah moul.
4And he taught me, and said: Let thy heart receive my words, keep my commandments, and thou shalt live.
5Eis lalmwetmet ac liyaten! Nimet mulkunla ku pilesru ma nga fahk uh.
5Get wisdom, get prudence: forget not, neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6Nimet sisla lalmwetmet, na el ac loangekom. Lungse el, ac el fah liyekomyang wo.
6Forsake her not, and she shall keep thee: love her, and she shall preserve thee.
7Ma se ma yohk sripa emeet nu sum pa in suk lalmwetmet. Kutena ma kom ac sifil suk saya, kom in suk etauk.
7The beginning of wisdom, get wisdom, and with all thy possession purchase prudence.
8Lungse lalmwetmet, ac el ac fah oru kom in fulat. Apsilya ku, ac el ac fah oru in kaksakinyuk kom.
8Take hold on her, and she shall exalt thee: thou shalt be glorified by her, when thou shalt embrace her.
9El ac fah oana sie tefuro wolana nu fin sifom.”
9She shall give to thy head increase of graces, and protect thee with a noble crown.
10Lohngyu, tulik nutik. Nunku akwoye ma nga fahk nu sum uh, na ac fah loes moul lom.
10Hear, O my son, and receive my words, that years of life may be multiplied to thee.
11Nga luti nu sum lalmwetmet ac ouiyen moul pwaye kom in fahsr kac.
11I will shew thee the way of wisdom, I will lead thee by the paths of equity:
12Wangin ma ac kosrala inkanek lom kom fin fahsr in lalmwetmet, ac kom ac tia tukulkul ke pacl kom kasrusr.
12Which when thou shalt have entered, thy steps shall not be straitened, and when thou runnest thou shalt not meet a stumblingblock.
13Esam ma kom luti uh pacl nukewa. Lutlut lom uh pa moul lom — liyaung akwoya.
13Take hold on instruction, leave it not: keep it, because it is thy life.
14Nimet fahsr nu yen mwet koluk uh fahsr nu we. Nimet ukwe ouiyen moul lalos.
14Be not delighted in the paths of the wicked, neither let the way of evil men please thee.
15Fahsr liki ma koluk! Nimet apkuranyang nu kac! Kuhfla liki ac fahsrot ke inkanek lom.
15Flee from it, pass not by it: go aside, and forsake it.
16Mwet koluk uh tia ku in motulla nwe ke na elos orala sie ma koluk. Elos ac ngetnget na elos fin tia orala mwe lokoalok nu sin mwet.
16For they sleep not except they have done evil: and their sleep is taken away unless they have made some to fall.
17Ma koluk ac sulallal uh oana mwe mongo ac mwe nim nu selos.
17They eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of iniquity.
18Inkanek lun mwet suwoswos uh oana takak lun faht uh, ma kais kutu kalmwelik nwe ke na lenelik.
18But the path of the just, as a shining light, goeth forwards and increaseth even to perfect day.
19Inkanek lun mwet koluk uh lohsr matoltol. Elos ikori tuh elos tia ku in liye lah mea se oru elos ikori uh.
19The way of the wicked is darksome: they know not where they fall.
20Tulik nutik, lohng akwoya ma nga fahk uh.
20My son, hearken to my words, and incline thy ear to my sayings.
21Esam kas luk ac karinganang in tia wanginla liki kom.
21Let them not depart from thy eyes, keep them in the midst of thy heart:
22Kas inge ac sang moul ac ku lun mano nu sin kutena mwet su kalem kac.
22For they are life to those that find them, and health to all flesh.
23Arulana karinganang nunak lom an — mweyen moul lom ac sikyak oana ma kom nunku.
23With all watchfulness keep thy heart, because life issueth out from it.
24Nimet fahk kutena ma su tia pwaye, ac tia orekmakin kas kikiap ku kutena ouiya ma ac kiapu mwet uh.
24Remove from thee a froward mouth, and let detracting lips be far from thee.
25Ngetot suwohs nu meeto ke inse pulaik. Nimet ngetnget in tonong.
25Let thy eyes look straight on, and let thy eyelids go before thy steps.
26Akola akwoye ma kom ac oru an, na ma nukewa kom oru ac ku in orekla wo.
26Make straight the path for thy feet, and all thy ways shall be established.
27Kaingkin ma koluk ac fahsr suwohs nu meeto. Nimet kuhfla liki inkanek pwaye.
27Decline not to the right hand, nor to the left: turn away thy foot from evil. For the Lord knoweth the ways that are on the right hand: but those are perverse which are on the left hand. But he will make thy courses straight, he will bring forward thy ways in peace.
