1Pa inge kutu pac soakas lal Solomon, su sifilpa simla sin mwet sim lal Tokosra Hezekiah lun Judah.
1These are also parables of Solomon, which the men of Ezechias king of Juda copied out.
2Kut akfulatye God ke ma El okanla liki kut, ac kut akfulatye tokosra uh ke ma elos aketeya nu sesr.
2It is the glory of God to conceal the word, and the glory of kings to search out the speech.
3Kom tia ku in etu nunak lun sie tokosra. Nunak lal uh fulat oana yen engyeng uh ac loal oana meoa uh.
3The heaven above, and the earth beneath, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.
4Eisla ma fohkfok liki silver, na mwet orekma kac uh fah ku in sang orala ma na oasku se.
4Take away the rust from silver, and there shall come forth a most pure vessel:
5Eisla mwet pwapa koluk liki ye mutal tokosra, na tokosrai lal fah eteyuk ke nununku suwohs.
5Take away wickedness from the face of the king, and his throne shall be established with justice.
6Nimet sifacna akfulatye kom ye mutun tokosra, ku tu yen sin mwet fulat.
6Appear not glorious before the king, and stand not in the place of great men.
7Ac wo in supweyuk kom nu ke sie nien muta fulat, liki na in fwackot nu sum kom in sang nien muta lom nu sin sie su fulat liki kom.
7For it is better that it should be said to thee: Come up hither; than that thou shouldst be humbled before the prince.
8Nimet sulaklak in utyak nu in nununku in tukakin ma kom liye uh. Sie mwet loh fin utyak tukum in fahkak lah kom tafongla, na mea kom ac oru?
8The things which thy eyes have seen, utter not hastily in a quarrel: lest afterward thou mayst not be able to make amends, when thou hast dishonoured thy friend.
9Kom, ac mwet tulan lom, fin tia insese ke kutu ma, sifacna aksuwosyela inmasrlomtal, ac nimet sramsramkin nu saya.
9Treat thy cause with thy friend, and discover not the secret to a stranger:
10Fin tia ouinge, mwet nukewa ac etu lah kom tia ku in karinganang ma oal in srumunyuk, ac mwekin lom ac tiana wanginla.
10Lest he insult over thee, when he hath heard it, and cease not to upbraid thee. Grace and friendship deliver a man: keep these for thyself, lest thou fall under reproach.
11Sie nunak ma aketeyuki wo el arulana saok oana gold nasnas ma oakiyuki ke sie tefuro silver.
11To speak a word in due time, is like apples of gold on beds of silver.
12Kas in sensenkakin sin sie mwet ma oasr etauk la nu sin sie su insewowo in lohng, saok liki ring gold ku mwe naweyuk su orekla ke gold nasnas.
12As an earring of gold and a bright pearl, so is he that reproveth the wise, and the obedient ear.
13Sie mwet roso su ku in lulalfongyuk el mwe insewowo nu sel su supwalla, oana kof oyohu ke pacl fol uh.
13As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to him that sent him, for he refresheth his soul.
14Mwet su orala wulela ac tia akfalye, elos oana pukunyeng ac eng ma wangin af kac.
14As clouds, and wind, when no rain followeth, so is the man that boasteth, and doth not fulfill his promises.
15Kas fisrasr ac kulang ku in kutongya alein upa, oayapa ku in kifasla nunak lun mwet leum uh.
15By patience a prince shall be appeased, and a soft tongue shall break hardness.
16Nimet kang honey yohk liki ma fal — ac oru kom wohtla.
16Thou hast found honey, eat what is sufficient for thee, lest being glutted therewith thou vomit it up.
17Nimet mutwata fususla nu yurin mwet tulan lom; el ac ku in totola sum ac srungakomla.
17Withdraw thy foot from the house of thy neighbour, lest having his fill he hate thee.
18Sie mwet su fahkak kas kikiap lain kutena mwet, oapana ke el sang sie cutlass faksilya, ku puokilya ke sak in anwuk, ku pisrkilya ke soko osra in pisr kosroh.
18A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour, is like a dart and a sword and a sharp arrow.
19Kom fin epahl nu sin sie mwet soaru ke pacl ma upa uh sikyak, na oana ke kom mongo ke soko wihs furareyak, ku fahsr ke sie nia sukapasla.
19To trust to an unfaithful man in the time of trouble, is like a rotten tooth, and weary foot,
20Kom fin yuk on in srital nu sin sie mwet su arulana fohsak nunak la, ac oapana ke kom eisla nuknuk liki sie mwet ke pacl mihsrisr, ku sang sohl nu ke sie kinet.
20And one that looseth his garment in cold weather. As vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to a very evil heart. As a moth doth by a garment, and a worm by the wood: so the sadness of a man consumeth the heart.
21Mwet lokoalok lom fin masrinsral, sang mongo nal; el fin malu, sang kof nimal.
21If thy enemy be hungry, give him to eat: if he thirst, give him water to drink:
22Tuh ke kom oru ouinge el ac arulana mwekinla sum, ac LEUM GOD El ac fah moli nu sum.
22For thou shalt heap hot coals upon his head, and the Lord will reward thee.
23Lesrik pwanak kasrkusrak, oana ke eng tuh epang me uh use af.
23The north wind driveth away rain, as doth a sad countenance a backbiting tongue.
24Ac wo in muta fin mangon lohm uh, liki in muta in lohm uh wi sie mutan torkaskas.
24It is better to sit in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman, and in a common house.
25Ke kom ac lohng sie pweng na wo yen loesla me, ac oana ke kom nim kof oyohu ke pacl kom arulana malu.
25As cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good tidings from a far country.
26Sie mwet suwoswos su srifeyukla sin sie mwet koluk, el oana sie unon in kof loslos su aktaekyeyukla, ku sie lufin kof pwasinla.
26A just man falling down before the wicked, is as a fountain troubled with the foot, and a corrupted spring.
27Tia wo in kang honey yokla, ac oapana ke kom suk in nuna kaksakinyuk kom.
27As it is not good for a man to eat much honey, so he that is a searcher of majesty, shall be overwhelmed by glory.
28Kom fin tia ku in sifacna leum fom, kom ac oana sie siti su wangin pot kac — fisrasr in kunausyukla.
28As a city that lieth open and is not compassed with walls, so is a man that cannot refrain his own spirit in speaking.
