1Elihu also proceeded, and said,
1Eliú também continuou, e disse:
2Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.
2“Tenha paciência comigo mais um pouco, e eu lhe mostrarei; pois ainda tenho algo a dizer em favor de Deus.
3I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
3Buscarei o meu conhecimento de longe, e atribuirei justiça ao meu Criador.
4For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
4Pois, na verdade, minhas palavras não são falsas. Alguém que é perfeito em conhecimento está com você.
5Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
5“Eis que Deus é poderoso, e não despreza ninguém. Ele é poderoso na força do entendimento.
6He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
6Ele não preserva a vida dos ímpios, mas faz justiça aos aflitos.
7He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
7Ele não desvia os seus olhos dos justos, mas com os reis no trono, ele os estabelece para sempre, e eles são exaltados.
8And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
8Se eles são presos em grilhões, e são apanhados nas cordas da aflição,
9Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
9então ele lhes mostra a obra deles, e as suas transgressões, de que agiram com orgulho.
10He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
10Ele também abre os ouvidos deles para a instrução, e ordena que se desviem da iniquidade.
11If they obey and serve him , they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
11Se eles o ouvirem e o servirem, passarão os seus dias em prosperidade, e os seus anos em delícias.
12But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
12Mas se não ouvirem, perecerão pela espada; eles morrerão sem conhecimento.
13But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
13“Mas os que são ímpios de coração acumulam ira. Eles não clamam por socorro quando ele os prende.
14They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
14Eles morrem na juventude. A vida deles perece entre os impuros.
15He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
15Ele livra o aflito por meio da sua aflição, e abre o ouvido deles na opressão.
16Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
16Sim, ele o teria atraído para fora da angústia, para um lugar amplo, onde não há restrição. E o que fosse posto na sua mesa seria cheio de fartura.
17But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee .
17“Mas você está cheio do julgamento dos ímpios. O julgamento e a justiça se apoderam de você.
18Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
18Não deixe que as riquezas o seduzam à ira, nem que a grandeza de um suborno o desvie.
19Will he esteem thy riches? no , not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
19A sua riqueza o sustentaria na angústia, ou todo o poder da sua força?
20Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
20Não deseje a noite, quando os povos são ceifados do seu lugar.
21Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
21Tenha cuidado, não se volte para a iniquidade; pois você escolheu isso em vez da aflição.
22Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
22Eis que Deus é exaltado em seu poder. Quem é mestre como ele?
23Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
23Quem lhe prescreveu o seu caminho? Ou quem pode dizer: ‘O Senhor cometeu injustiça’?
24Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
24“Lembre-se de engrandecer a sua obra, sobre a qual os homens têm cantado.
25Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
25Todos os homens a contemplam. O homem a vê de longe.
26Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
26Eis que Deus é grande, e nós não o conhecemos. O número dos seus anos é inescrutável.
27For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
27Pois ele atrai as gotas de água, que se destilam em chuva a partir do seu vapor,
28Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
28as quais os céus derramam e gotejam abundantemente sobre o homem.
29Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
29De fato, pode alguém entender a expansão das nuvens e os trovões do seu pavilhão?
30Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
30Eis que ele espalha a sua luz ao redor de si. Ele cobre o fundo do mar.
31For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
31Pois por meio destas coisas ele julga os povos. Ele dá alimento em abundância.
32With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.
32Ele cobre as suas mãos com o relâmpago, e ordena que atinja o alvo.
33The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
33O seu estrondo anuncia sobre ele, e também o gado, a respeito da tempestade que se aproxima.
