1My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee;
1Mia filo! se vi akceptos miajn parolojn Kaj konservos ĉe vi miajn ordonojn,
2So that thou make thine ear attend unto wisdom, and thy heart incline to discernment;
2Ke via orelo atente aŭskultos saĝon Kaj vian koron vi inklinigos al komprenado;
3Yea, if thou call for understanding, and lift up thy voice for discernment;
3Se vi vokos la prudenton Kaj direktos vian voĉon al la saĝo:
4If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
4Se vi serĉos ĝin kiel arĝenton, Serĉegos kiel trezoron:
5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
5Tiam vi komprenos la timon antaŭ la Eternulo, Kaj vi akiros konadon pri Dio.
6For the LORD giveth wisdom, out of His mouth cometh knowledge and discernment;
6Ĉar la Eternulo donas saĝon; El Lia buŝo venas scio kaj kompreno.
7He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright, He is a shield to them that walk in integrity;
7Li havas helpon por la virtuloj; Li estas ŝildo por tiuj, kiuj vivas pie.
8That He may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of His godly ones.
8Li gardas la iradon de la justo, Kaj zorgas pri la vojo de Siaj piuloj.
9Then shalt thou understand righteousness and justice, and equity, yea, every good path.
9Tiam vi komprenos veremon kaj juston Kaj pion kaj ĉiun bonan vojon.
10For wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;
10Ĉar saĝo venos en vian koron, Kaj scio estos agrabla por via animo.
11Discretion shall watch over thee, discernment shall guard thee;
11Bona konscio vin gvidos, Prudento vin gardos,
12To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the men that speak froward things;
12Por savi vin de la vojo de malbono, De homo, parolanta kontraŭveraĵon,
13Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
13De tiuj, kiuj forlasas la ĝustan vojon, Por iri la vojojn de mallumo,
14Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of evil;
14Kiuj ĝojas, kiam ili faras malbonon, Trovas plezuron en la malordo de la malboneco,
15Who are crooked in their ways, and perverse in their paths;
15Kies vojoj estas malrektaj Kaj kies irado deflankiĝis;
16To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the alien woman that maketh smooth her words;
16Por savi vin de fremda virino, De edzino ne via, kies paroloj estas glataj,
17That forsaketh the lord of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
17Kiu forlasas la amikon de sia juneco, Kaj forgesas la ligon de sia Dio;
18For her house sinketh down unto death, and her paths unto the shades;
18Ĉar ŝia domo kondukas al morto, Kaj ŝiaj paŝoj al la inferuloj;
19None that go unto her return, neither do they attain unto the paths of life;
19Ĉiuj, kiuj eniras al ŝi, ne revenas, Kaj ne reatingas la vojon de la vivo;
20That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
20Ke vi iru la vojon de bonuloj, Kaj sekvu la paŝosignojn de piuloj.
21For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the whole-hearted shall remain in it.
21Ĉar la piuloj loĝos sur la tero, Kaj la senpekuloj restos sur ĝi;
22But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and the faithless shall be plucked up out of it.
22Sed la malpiuloj estos ekstermitaj de sur la tero, Kaj la maliculoj estos malaperigitaj de tie.
