1Moreover Elihu answered and said:
1以利戶 又說：
2Thinkest thou this to be thy right, or sayest thou: 'I am righteousness before God',
2你以為有理， 或以為你的公義勝於上帝的公義，
3That thou inquirest: 'What advantage will it be unto Thee?' And: 'What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?'
3才說這與我有甚麼益處？ 我不犯罪 比犯罪有甚麼好處呢？
4I will give thee answer, and thy companions with thee.
4我要回答你和在你這裏的朋友。
5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the skies, which are higher than thou.
5你要向天觀看， 瞻望那高於你的穹蒼。
6If thou hast sinned, what doest thou against Him? And if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto Him?
6你若犯罪，能使上帝受何害呢？ 你的過犯加增，能使上帝受何損呢？
7If thou be righteous, what givest thou Him? Or what receiveth He of thy hand?
7你若是公義，還能加增他甚麼呢？ 他從你手裏還接受甚麼呢？
8Thy wickedness concerneth a man as thou art; and thy righteousness a son of man.
8你的過惡 或能害 你這類的人； 你的公義 或能叫 世人 得益處 。
9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; they cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.
9人因多受欺壓就哀求， 因受能者的轄制便求救，
10But none saith: 'Where is God my Maker, who giveth songs in the night;
10卻無人說：造我的上帝在哪裏？ 他使人夜間歌唱，
11Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?'
11教訓我們勝於地上的走獸， 使我們有聰明勝於空中的飛鳥。
12There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
12他們在那裏， 因惡人的驕傲呼求，卻無人答應。
13Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
13虛妄的 呼求 ，上帝必不垂聽； 全能者也必不眷顧。
14Yea, when thou sayest thou canst not see Him — the cause is before Him; therefore wait thou for Him.
14何況你說，你不得見他； 你的案件在他面前，你等候他吧。
15And now, is it for nought that He punished in His anger? And hath He not full knowledge of arrogance?
15但如今因他未曾發怒降罰， 也不甚理會狂傲，
16But Job doth open his mouth in vanity; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
16所以 約伯 開口說虛妄的話， 多發無知識的言語。
