1Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
1提幔 人 以利法 回答说：
2Can a man be profitable unto God? Or can he that is wise be profitable unto Him?
2人岂能使 神有益呢？ 智慧人但能有益于己。
3Is it any advantage to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? Or is it gain to Him, that thou makest thy ways blameless?
3你为人公义，岂叫全能者喜悦呢？ 你行为完全，岂能使他得利呢？
4Is it for thy fear of Him that He reproveth thee, that He entereth with thee into judgment?
4岂是因你敬畏他 就责备你、审判你吗？
5Is not thy wickedness great? And are not thine iniquities without end?
5你的罪恶岂不是大吗？ 你的罪孽也没有穷尽；
6For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
6因你无故强取弟兄的物为当头， 剥去贫寒人的衣服。
7Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
7困乏的人，你没有给他水喝； 饥饿的人，你没有给他食物。
8And as a mighty man, who hath the earth, and as a man of rank, who dwelleth in it,
8有能力的人就得地土； 尊贵的人也住在其中。
9Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
9你打发寡妇空手回去， 折断孤儿的膀臂。
10Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden dread affrighted thee,
10因此，有网罗环绕你， 有恐惧忽然使你惊惶；
11Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and abundance of waters cover thee.
11或有黑暗蒙蔽你， 并有洪水淹没你。
12Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the topmost of the stars, how high they are!
12神岂不是在高天吗？ 你看星宿何其高呢！
13And thou sayest: 'What doth God know? Can He judge through the dark cloud?
13你说： 神知道什么？ 他岂能看透幽暗施行审判呢？
14Thick clouds are a covering to Him, that He seeth not; and He walketh in the circuit of heaven.'
14密云将他遮盖，使他不能看见； 他周游穹苍。
15Wilt thou keep the old way which wicked men have trodden?
15你要依从上古的道吗？ 这道是恶人所行的。
16Who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream;
16他们未到死期，忽然除灭； 根基毁坏，好像被江河冲去。
17Who said unto God: 'Depart from us'; and what could the Almighty do unto them?
17他们向 神说：离开我们吧！ 又 说 ：全能者能把我们怎么样呢？
18Yet He filled their houses with good things — but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
18哪知 神以美物充满他们的房屋； 但恶人所谋定的离我好远。
19The righteous saw it, and were glad, and the innocent laugh them to scorn:
19义人看见他们的 结局 就欢喜； 无辜的人嗤笑他们，
20'Surely their substance is cut off, and their abundance the fire hath consumed.'
20说：那起来攻击我们的果然被剪除， 其余的都被火烧灭。
21Acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace; thereby shall thine increase be good.
21你要认识 神，就得平安； 福气也必临到你。
22Receive, I pray thee, instruction from His mouth, and lay up His words in thy heart.
22你当领受他口中的教训， 将他的言语存在心里。
23If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up — if thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents,
23你若归向全能者，从你帐棚中远除不义， 就必得建立。
24And lay thy treasure in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks;
24要将 你的 珍宝丢在尘土里， 将 俄斐 的 黄金 丢在溪河石头之间；
25And the Almighty be thy treasure, and precious silver unto thee;
25全能者就必为你的珍宝， 作你的宝银。
26Then surely shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
26你就要以全能者为喜乐， 向 神仰起脸来。
27Thou shalt make thy prayer unto Him, and He will hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows;
27你要祷告他，他就听你； 你也要还你的愿。
28Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee, and light shall shine upon thy ways.
28你定意要做何事，必然给你成就； 亮光也必照耀你的路。
29When they cast thee down, thou shalt say: 'There is lifting up'; for the humble person He saveth.
29人使 你 降卑，你仍可说： 必得 高升； 谦卑的人， 神必然拯救。
30He delivereth him that is innocent, yea, thou shalt be delivered through the cleanness of thy hands.
30人非无辜， 神且要搭救他； 他因你手中清洁，必蒙拯救。
