1And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
1アハシュエロス王は、本土と海の島々に貢ぎを課した。
2And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, how the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
2王の権勢と武勇のすべての業、また王がモルデカイを高くしたその偉大さの詳しい記録は、メディアとペルシアの王たちの年代記に記されているではないか。
3For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren; seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his seed.
3ユダヤ人モルデカイはアハシュエロス王に次ぐ者となり、ユダヤ人の間で重んじられ、多くの同胞に愛された。彼は自分の民の幸福を求め、そのすべての子孫に平和を語った。
