1And David again gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.
1ดาวิดรวบรวมทหารที่คัดเลือกแล้วทั้งหมดของอิสราเอลอีกครั้ง จำนวนสามหมื่นคน
2And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whereupon is called the Name, even the name of the LORD of hosts that sitteth upon the cherubim.
2ดาวิดกับทุกคนที่อยู่กับเขาออกจากบาอาเลยูดาห์ เพื่ออัญเชิญหีบของพระเจ้าจากที่นั่น หีบนี้เรียกขานด้วยพระนาม คือพระนามของพระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพ ผู้ประทับเหนือเครูบ
3And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.
3พวกเขาวางหีบของพระเจ้าบนเกวียนใหม่ แล้วนำออกจากบ้านอาบีนาดับที่ตั้งอยู่บนเนินเขา อุสซาห์กับอาหิโยบุตรชายของอาบีนาดับเป็นผู้ขับเกวียนใหม่นั้น
4And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in the hill, with the ark of God, and Ahio went before the ark.

5And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD with all manner of instruments made of cypress-wood, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with sistra, and with cymbals.
5ดาวิดกับวงศ์วานอิสราเอลทั้งหมดบรรเลงดนตรีต่อพระพักตร์พระยาห์เวห์ ด้วยเครื่องดนตรีทุกชนิดที่ทำจากไม้สนไซเปรส ทั้งพิณ เครื่องสาย รำมะนา กรับ และฉาบ
6And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen stumbled.
6เมื่อมาถึงลานนวดข้าวของนาโคน วัวสะดุด อุสซาห์จึงยื่นมือไปจับหีบของพระเจ้าไว้
7And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
7พระยาห์เวห์ทรงกริ้วอุสซาห์ และพระเจ้าทรงตีเขาที่นั่นเพราะความผิดของเขา เขาจึงตายข้างหีบของพระเจ้า
8And David was displeased, because the LORD had broken forth upon Uzzah; and that place was called Perez-uzzah, unto this day
8ดาวิดขุ่นเคืองที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงปะทุพระพิโรธต่ออุสซาห์ จึงเรียกสถานที่นั้นว่าเปเรศอุสซาห์ ซึ่งยังเรียกกันเช่นนี้จนถึงทุกวันนี้
9And David was afraid of the LORD that day; and he said: 'How shall the ark of the LORD come unto me?'
9วันนั้นดาวิดกลัวพระยาห์เวห์และกล่าวว่า “หีบของพระยาห์เวห์จะมาอยู่กับข้าได้อย่างไร?”
10So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
10ดาวิดจึงไม่ยอมนำหีบของพระยาห์เวห์ไปไว้กับท่านในเมืองของดาวิด แต่ดาวิดนำหีบไปไว้ที่บ้านโอเบดเอโดมชาวกัท
11And the ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months; and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his house.
11หีบของพระยาห์เวห์อยู่ที่บ้านโอเบดเอโดมชาวกัทสามเดือน พระยาห์เวห์ทรงอวยพรโอเบดเอโดมและทุกคนในบ้านของเขา
12And it was told king David, saying: 'The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God.' And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with joy.
12มีคนทูลกษัตริย์ดาวิดว่า “พระยาห์เวห์ทรงอวยพรครอบครัวโอเบดเอโดมและทุกสิ่งที่เขามี เพราะหีบของพระเจ้า” ดาวิดจึงไปรับหีบของพระเจ้าจากบ้านโอเบดเอโดม แล้วนำขึ้นมายังเมืองของดาวิดด้วยความยินดี
13And it was so, that when they that bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.
13เมื่อคนหามหีบของพระยาห์เวห์เดินไปได้หกก้าว ดาวิดก็ถวายวัวตัวหนึ่งกับลูกวัวที่ขุนไว้เป็นเครื่องบูชา
14And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
14ดาวิดเต้นรำต่อพระพักตร์พระยาห์เวห์สุดกำลัง โดยสวมเอโฟดผ้าลินิน
15So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the horn.
15ดาวิดกับวงศ์วานอิสราเอลทั้งหมดนำหีบของพระยาห์เวห์ขึ้นมา พร้อมเสียงโห่ร้องและเสียงแตร
16And it was so, as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
16ขณะที่หีบของพระยาห์เวห์เข้ามาในเมืองของดาวิด มีคาลบุตรสาวของซาอูลมองออกมาทางหน้าต่าง นางเห็นกษัตริย์ดาวิดกระโดดโลดเต้นต่อพระพักตร์พระยาห์เวห์ แล้วก็ดูหมิ่นท่านอยู่ในใจ
17And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before the LORD.
17พวกเขานำหีบของพระยาห์เวห์เข้ามาและตั้งไว้ตรงที่จัดไว้กลางกระโจมที่ดาวิดกางไว้สำหรับหีบ จากนั้นดาวิดถวายเครื่องบูชาเผาทั้งตัวและเครื่องบูชาแห่งสันติต่อพระยาห์เวห์
18And when David had made an end of offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.
18เมื่อดาวิดถวายเครื่องบูชาเผาทั้งตัวและเครื่องบูชาแห่งสันติเสร็จแล้ว ท่านให้พรประชาชนในพระนามพระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพ
19And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to every one a cake of bread, and a cake made in a pan, and a sweet cake. So all the people departed every one to his house.
19ท่านแจกขนมปัง อินทผลัม และลูกเกดให้ประชาชนอิสราเอลทั้งหมด ทั้งชายและหญิง คนละส่วน จากนั้นทุกคนก็กลับบ้านของตน
20Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said: 'How did the king of Israel get him honour to-day, who uncovered himself to-day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!'
20ดาวิดกลับไปให้พรแก่ครอบครัวของตน มีคาลบุตรสาวซาอูลออกมาพบท่านแล้วพูดว่า “วันนี้กษัตริย์อิสราเอลช่างดูมีเกียรติเสียจริง! ท่านเปิดเผยร่างกายต่อหน้าสาวใช้ของบรรดาข้ารับใช้ของท่าน ราวกับคนไร้ค่าเปิดเผยร่างกายอย่างไม่อาย!”
21And David said unto Michal: 'Before the LORD, who chose me above thy father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of the LORD, over Israel, before the LORD will I make merry.
21ดาวิดตอบมีคาลว่า “ข้าทำต่อพระพักตร์พระยาห์เวห์ ผู้ทรงเลือกข้ามากกว่าพ่อของเจ้าและวงศ์วานทั้งหมดของเขา ให้ข้าเป็นผู้นำเหนือประชาชนของพระยาห์เวห์ คือเหนืออิสราเอล ข้าจะเฉลิมฉลองต่อพระพักตร์พระยาห์เวห์
22And I will be yet more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight; and with the handmaids whom thou hast spoken of, with them will I get me honour.'
22ข้าจะยอมให้ตัวเองดูไร้เกียรติยิ่งกว่านี้ และจะเห็นว่าตนต่ำต้อย แต่สาวใช้ที่เจ้าพูดถึงจะให้เกียรติข้า”
23And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
23มีคาลบุตรสาวของซาอูลไม่มีบุตรจนถึงวันตาย
