1And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
1เยโฮชาฟัทสิ้นชีวิตและถูกฝังกับบรรพบุรุษในนครดาวิด เยโฮรัมบุตรชายขึ้นครองราชย์แทน
2And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariahu, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
2เยโฮรัมมีพี่น้องชายซึ่งเป็นบุตรของเยโฮชาฟัท ได้แก่ อาซาริยาห์ เยฮีเอล เศคาริยาห์ อาซาริยาห์ มีคาเอล และเชฟาทิยาห์ ทั้งหมดนี้เป็นบุตรชายของเยโฮชาฟัทกษัตริย์อิสราเอล
3And their father gave them great gifts, of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah; but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram, because he was the first-born.
3บิดามอบเงิน ทองคำ ของมีค่า และเมืองป้อมปราการในยูดาห์ให้พวกเขามากมาย แต่ยกราชอาณาจักรให้เยโฮรัมเพราะเขาเป็นบุตรหัวปี
4Now when Jehoram was risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
4เมื่อเยโฮรัมขึ้นครองราชย์แทนบิดาและมีอำนาจมั่นคง เขาใช้ดาบฆ่าพี่น้องชายทั้งหมด รวมทั้งผู้นำอิสราเอลบางคน
5Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
5เยโฮรัมขึ้นครองราชย์เมื่ออายุ 32 ปี และครองราชย์ในเยรูซาเล็ม 8 ปี
6And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife; and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
6เขาดำเนินตามแบบกษัตริย์อิสราเอลเช่นเดียวกับราชวงศ์อาหับ เพราะเขาแต่งงานกับบุตรสาวของอาหับ เขาทำสิ่งชั่วร้ายในสายพระเนตรพระยาห์เวห์
7Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that He had made with David, and as He promised to give a lamp to him and to his children alway.
7ถึงอย่างนั้นพระยาห์เวห์ไม่ทรงทำลายราชวงศ์ดาวิด เพราะพันธสัญญาที่ทรงทำกับดาวิด และพระสัญญาว่าจะรักษาประทีปของเขาและลูกหลานไว้เสมอ
8In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
8ในสมัยเยโฮรัม เอโดมกบฏไม่ขึ้นกับยูดาห์ และตั้งกษัตริย์ปกครองตนเอง
9Then Jehoram passed over with his captains, and all his chariots with him; and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites that compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots.
9เยโฮรัมจึงยกทัพไปพร้อมผู้บังคับบัญชาและรถรบทั้งหมด คืนหนึ่งเขาลุกขึ้นโจมตีชาวเอโดมที่ล้อมเขาไว้ รวมทั้งผู้บังคับบัญชารถรบด้วย
10So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day; then did Libnah revolt at the same time from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.
10เอโดมจึงกบฏไม่ขึ้นกับยูดาห์มาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ ในเวลาเดียวกันลิบนาห์ก็กบฏต่อเยโฮรัม เพราะเขาทอดทิ้งพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของบรรพบุรุษ
11Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go astray, and drew Judah away.
11เขายังสร้างสถานบูชาบนที่สูงตามภูเขาของยูดาห์ ชักนำชาวเยรูซาเล็มให้นอกใจพระยาห์เวห์เหมือนคนคบชู้ และนำยูดาห์ให้หลงผิด
12And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying: 'Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father: Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah;
12มีจดหมายจากเอลียาห์ผู้เผยพระวจนะส่งถึงเขาว่า “พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของดาวิดบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าตรัสว่า ‘เจ้าไม่ได้ดำเนินตามทางของเยโฮชาฟัทบิดา หรือทางของอาสากษัตริย์ยูดาห์
13but hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go astray, like as the house of Ahab made Israel to go astray; and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, who were better than thyself;
13แต่ดำเนินตามแบบกษัตริย์อิสราเอล ชักนำชาวยูดาห์และชาวเยรูซาเล็มให้นอกใจเราเหมือนคนในราชวงศ์อาหับ ทั้งยังฆ่าพี่น้องชายร่วมบิดาผู้ดีกว่าเจ้า
14behold, the LORD will smite with a great plague thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy substance;
14พระยาห์เวห์จะทรงนำภัยพิบัติใหญ่มาสู่ประชาชน บุตร ภรรยา และทรัพย์สินทั้งหมดของเจ้า
15and thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.'
15ส่วนเจ้าจะป่วยเป็นโรคลำไส้อย่างหนัก โรคจะกำเริบขึ้นทุกวันจนลำไส้หลุดออกมา’”
16And the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians that are beside the Ethiopians;
16พระยาห์เวห์ทรงดลใจชาวฟีลิสเตียและชาวอาหรับที่อยู่ใกล้ชาวเอธิโอเปียให้ลุกขึ้นต่อต้านเยโฮรัม
17and they came up against Judah, and broke into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
17พวกเขาบุกยูดาห์ ปล้นทรัพย์สินทั้งหมดในวัง รวมทั้งจับบุตรชายและภรรยาของกษัตริย์ไป ไม่เหลือบุตรชายคนใดนอกจากเยโฮอาหัสผู้เป็นคนสุดท้อง
18And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
18หลังจากนั้นพระยาห์เวห์ทรงให้เยโฮรัมป่วยเป็นโรคลำไส้ที่รักษาไม่หาย
19And it came to pass, that in process of time, at the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
19พอครบ 2 ปี ลำไส้เขาหลุดออกมาเพราะโรค และเขาสิ้นชีวิตอย่างทุกข์ทรมานด้วยโรคร้ายหลายอย่าง ประชาชนไม่ได้ก่อกองไฟใหญ่เป็นเกียรติแก่เขาอย่างที่เคยทำให้บรรพบุรุษ
20Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years; and he departed joyless; and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
20เขาขึ้นครองราชย์เมื่ออายุ 32 ปี ครองราชย์ในเยรูซาเล็ม 8 ปี เมื่อสิ้นชีวิตก็ไม่มีใครอาลัย พวกเขาฝังเขาในนครดาวิด แต่ไม่ฝังในสุสานกษัตริย์
