1In the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.
1ในปีที่ 18 แห่งรัชกาลเยโรโบอัม อาบียาห์ขึ้นครองราชย์เหนือยูดาห์
2Three years reigned he in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
2เขาครองราชย์ในเยรูซาเล็ม 3 ปี มารดาของเขาชื่อมีคายาห์ เป็นบุตรสาวของอูรีเอลชาวกิเบอาห์ อาบียาห์กับเยโรโบอัมทำสงครามกัน
3And Abijah joined battle with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men; and Jeroboam set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, who were mighty men of valour.
3อาบียาห์ยกนักรบกล้าหาญที่คัดเลือกแล้ว 400,000 คนออกสู้รบ เยโรโบอัมจัดทัพนักรบกล้าหาญที่คัดเลือกแล้ว 800,000 คนมาประจันหน้า
4And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill-country of Ephraim, and said: 'Hear me, O Jeroboam and all Israel;
4อาบียาห์ยืนบนภูเขาเศมาราอิมในแถบภูเขาของเอฟราอิม แล้วประกาศว่า “เยโรโบอัมและชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหลาย จงฟังข้า
5ought ye not to know that the LORD, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
5พวกท่านย่อมรู้ว่าพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลทรงมอบอาณาจักรอิสราเอลให้ดาวิดและลูกหลานปกครองตลอดไป ด้วยพันธสัญญาแห่งเกลืออันยั่งยืน
6Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord.
6แต่เยโรโบอัมบุตรเนบัท ซึ่งเคยรับใช้โซโลมอนบุตรดาวิด ลุกขึ้นกบฏต่อเจ้านาย
7And there were gathered unto him vain men, base fellows that strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and faint-hearted, and could not withstand them.
7คนไร้ค่ากลุ่มหนึ่งมาร่วมกับเขา คนชั่วเหล่านี้ตั้งตัวเป็นปฏิปักษ์ต่อเรโหโบอัมบุตรโซโลมอน ขณะที่เรโหโบอัมยังหนุ่มและใจไม่แข็งพอจะต้านทานพวกเขา
8And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye are a great multitude, and there are with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods.
8“บัดนี้พวกท่านคิดจะต่อสู้กับอาณาจักรของพระยาห์เวห์ที่อยู่ในมือของลูกหลานดาวิด พวกท่านมีคนมากมาย และมีลูกวัวทองคำที่เยโรโบอัมทำให้เป็นเทพเจ้าของพวกท่าน
9Have ye not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the peoples of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same becometh a priest of them that are no gods.
9พวกท่านขับปุโรหิตของพระยาห์เวห์ซึ่งเป็นลูกหลานอาโรนกับชาวเลวีออกไป แล้วตั้งปุโรหิตกันเองตามแบบชนชาติอื่น ใครนำลูกโคตัวผู้หนึ่งตัวกับแกะตัวผู้ 7 ตัวมาทำพิธีรับตำแหน่ง ก็เป็นปุโรหิตของสิ่งที่ไม่ใช่พระเจ้าได้
10But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and we have priests ministering unto the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites in their work;
10“ส่วนเรา พระยาห์เวห์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของเรา เรายังไม่ทอดทิ้งพระองค์ ลูกหลานอาโรนทำหน้าที่ปุโรหิตถวายพระยาห์เวห์ และชาวเลวีก็ทำงานของตน
11and they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt-offerings and sweet incense; the showbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening; for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken Him.
11ทุกเช้าเย็นพวกเขาถวายเครื่องบูชาเผาทั้งตัวและเผาเครื่องหอมแด่พระยาห์เวห์ จัดขนมปังถวายบนโต๊ะสะอาด และดูแลเชิงตะเกียงทองคำกับตะเกียงให้จุดทุกเย็น เราทำตามพระบัญชาของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของเรา แต่พวกท่านทอดทิ้งพระองค์
12And, behold, God is with us at our head, and His priests with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD, the God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.'
12พระเจ้าทรงนำทัพเรา ปุโรหิตของพระองค์ถือแตรเตรียมเป่าสัญญาณรบกับพวกท่าน ชาวอิสราเอลเอ๋ย อย่ารบกับพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของบรรพบุรุษ เพราะพวกท่านจะไม่มีทางชนะ”
13But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them; so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them.
13ระหว่างนั้นเยโรโบอัมส่งทหารไปซุ่มด้านหลังยูดาห์ ขณะที่ทัพหลักของเขาอยู่ด้านหน้า
14And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
14เมื่อชาวยูดาห์หันไปเห็นศัตรูทั้งด้านหน้าและด้านหลัง พวกเขาร้องทูลพระยาห์เวห์ ปุโรหิตก็เป่าแตร
15Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
15นักรบยูดาห์โห่ร้องขึ้น ขณะนั้นพระเจ้าทรงโจมตีเยโรโบอัมกับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดต่อหน้าอาบียาห์และยูดาห์
16And the children of Israel fled before Judah; and God delivered them into their hand.
16ชาวอิสราเอลหนีทัพยูดาห์ พระเจ้าทรงมอบพวกเขาให้อยู่ในมือยูดาห์
17And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter; so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
17อาบียาห์กับทหารฆ่าชาวอิสราเอลเป็นจำนวนมาก นักรบชั้นดีของอิสราเอลล้มตาย 500,000 คน
18Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD, the God of their fathers.
18คราวนั้นชาวอิสราเอลถูกปราบ ชาวยูดาห์มีชัยเพราะพึ่งพาพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของบรรพบุรุษ
19And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.
19อาบียาห์ไล่ตามเยโรโบอัมและยึดเมืองจากเขา ได้แก่ เบธเอล เยชานาห์ และเอโฟรน พร้อมหมู่บ้านที่ขึ้นกับแต่ละเมือง
20Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah; and the LORD smote him, and he died.
20เยโรโบอัมไม่อาจฟื้นกำลังได้อีกในสมัยอาบียาห์ พระยาห์เวห์ทรงลงทัณฑ์เขาจนเสียชีวิต
21But Abijah waxed mighty, and took unto himself fourteen wives, and begot twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
21ส่วนอาบียาห์มีอำนาจยิ่งขึ้น เขามีภรรยา 14 คน บุตรชาย 22 คน และบุตรสาว 16 คน
22And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the commentary of the prophet Iddo.
