1ですから、愛されている子どもとして、神にならう者となりなさい。
1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2キリストが私たちを愛し、私たちのためにご自分を、芳しい香りとなる神への供え物といけにえとして献げられたように、あなたがたも愛のうちに歩みなさい。
2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3性的不品行、あらゆる汚れ、また貪欲は、聖徒にふさわしく、あなたがたの間にその名さえ挙がらないようにしなさい。
3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4恥ずべきこと、愚かな話、下品な冗談もふさわしくありません。むしろ、感謝の言葉を語りなさい。
4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5このことを確かに知っておきなさい。性的不品行を行う者、汚れた者、貪欲な者、すなわち偶像を礼拝する者はだれも、キリストと神の王国には何の相続分も持っていません。
5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6むなしい言葉でだれにも欺かれてはなりません。このようなことのために、神の怒りは不従順の子らの上に下るからです。
6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7ですから、彼らと行いをともにしてはなりません。
7Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8あなたがたは以前は闇そのものでしたが、今は主にあって光です。光の子どもとして歩みなさい。
8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9聖霊の実は、あらゆる善と義と真理のうちに現れるからです。
9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10何が主に喜ばれるかを見極めなさい。
10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11実を結ばない闇の行いに加わらず、むしろそれを責めて明るみに出しなさい。
11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them .
12彼らが隠れて行っていることは、口にすることさえ恥ずべきことだからです。
12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13しかし、すべてのものは光に照らされると明るみに出され、その正体が現れます。すべてを明るみに出すのは光だからです。
13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14そのため、こう言われています。「眠っている者よ、目を覚ませ。死者の中から立ち上がれ。そうすれば、キリストがあなたを照らす。」
14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15ですから、自分がどのように歩んでいるかに細心の注意を払いなさい。知恵のない者としてではなく、知恵のある者として歩み、
15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16時を有効に使いなさい。今は悪い時代だからです。
16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17ですから、愚かな者にならず、主の御心が何であるかを理解しなさい。
17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is .
18酒に酔ってはなりません。それは放蕩につながるからです。むしろ、聖霊に満たされなさい。
18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19詩篇と賛美歌と霊の歌をもって互いに語り合い、心から主に歌い、賛美を奏でなさい。
19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20いつでも、すべてのことについて、私たちの主イエス・キリストの名によって、父なる神に感謝しなさい。
20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21キリストを恐れ敬う心で、互いに従い合いなさい。
21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22妻たちよ、主に従うように、自分の夫に従いなさい。
22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23夫は妻のかしらだからです。それは、キリストが教会のかしらであり、ご自身がその体の救い主であるのと同じです。
23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24教会がキリストに従っているように、妻もすべてのことにおいて自分の夫に従いなさい。
24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25夫たちよ、キリストが教会を愛し、教会のためにご自分を献げられたように、妻を愛しなさい。
25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26キリストがご自分を献げられたのは、言葉による水の洗いをもって教会を清め、聖なるものとするため、
26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27また、しみやしわ、そのほかそのようなものが何もなく、聖なる、傷のない、栄光に輝く教会として、ご自分の前に立たせるためでした。
27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28同じように、夫も自分の体を愛するように妻を愛すべきです。自分の妻を愛する人は、自分自身を愛しているのです。
28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29自分の肉体を憎んだ人は一人もいません。むしろ、それを養い、いたわります。主が教会に対してなさるのも同じです。
29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30私たちはキリストの体の一部、すなわち、その肉と骨だからです。
30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31「このため、男は父と母を離れて妻と結ばれ、二人は一つの肉体となる。」
31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32この奥義は偉大です。私はキリストと教会について語っています。
32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33いずれにしても、あなたがたも一人一人、自分自身を愛するように妻を愛しなさい。また、妻は夫を敬うようにしなさい。
33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
