World English Bible
1Manghai kah a lungbuei tah sokca tui bangla BOEIPA kut dongah om tih, a ngaih bangla boeih a hoihaeng.
1The king’s heart is in the LORD’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires.
2Longpuei boeih he hlang loh amah mikhmuh nen tah a thuem sak. Tedae BOEIPA long tah lungbuei ni a khiing a lang.
2Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the hearts.
3Duengnah neh tiktamnah saii ham te BOEIPA loh hmueih lakah a ngaih.
3To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4Mik dongkah buhuengpomnah neh lungbuei a mungkung he halang rhoek kah tholhnah hmaithoi ni.
4A high look and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin.
5Bi haam kah kopoek tah kumkonah la om yoeyah tih, aka cukhat boeih khaw tloelnah la om yoeyah.
5The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty.
6A hong ol lamkah bisai neh thakvoh tah ahonghi la huu tih, dueknah ni kang a toem coeng.
6Getting treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor for those who seek death.
7Halang loh a tiktam la saii ham a aal dongah, amamih kah a rhoelrhanah loh amamih a hmuh bitni.
7The violence of the wicked will drive them away, because they refuse to do what is right.
8A ko aka boi hlang kah longpuei tah kawn dae, aka cil tah a bisai a thuem pah.
8The way of the guilty is devious, but the conduct of the innocent is upright.
9Hohmuhnah la aka om yuu neh hoilh aka khueh kah im lakah tah, imphu bangkil ah khosak te then ngai.
9It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop than to share a house with a contentious woman.
10Halang kah a hinglu long tah boethae a ngaidam tih, a mikhmuh kah a hui te khaw rhen pawh.
10The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes.
11Hmuiyoi loh lai a sah vaengah hlangyoe khaw cueih tih, a cueih hamla a cangbam vaengah mingnah khaw a dang.
11When the mocker is punished, the simple gains wisdom. When the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.
12Hlang dueng long tah halang imkhui khaw a cangbam mai dae, halang rhoek long tah a thae la a paimaelh.
12The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked, and brings the wicked to ruin.
13Tattloel kah a doek te a hna aka buem thil tah, amah a pang van vaengah doo uh mahpawh.
13Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he will also cry out, but shall not be heard.
14A huephael kah kutdoe loh thintoek, a rhang dongkah kapbaih loh kosi aka tlung te a daeh sak.
14A gift in secret pacifies anger, and a bribe in the cloak, strong wrath.
15Hlang dueng hamtah tah a tiktamnah a saii te kohoenah la om tih, boethae aka saii rhoek ham tah porhaknah la om.
15It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
16Hlang aka cangbam kah longpuei lamloh kho aka hmang hlang tah, sairhai kah hlangping lakli ah duem.
16The man who wanders out of the way of understanding shall rest in the assembly of the departed spirits.
17Kohoenah aka lungnah aih khaw hlang kah a tloelnah la poeh tih, misurtui neh situi aka lungnah khaw boei mahpawh.
17He who loves pleasure will be a poor man. He who loves wine and oil won’t be rich.
18Halang te hlang dueng ham, hnukpoh te aka thuem ham tlansum la om.
18The wicked is a ransom for the righteous, the treacherous for the upright.
19Hohmuhnah, konoinah neh yuu taengah olpungkacan la om lakah tah, khosoek khohmuen ah khosak he then ngai.
19It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.
20Hlang cueih tolkhoeng kah thakvoh neh situi tah a naikap dae, hlang ang long tah te te a yoop.
20There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man swallows it up.
21Duengnah neh sitlohnah aka hloem long tah, duengnah neh thangpomnah dongkah hingnah te a dang ni.
21He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor.
22Hlangrhalh rhoek kah khopuei te hlang cueih pakhat long ni a paan tih, a sarhi la a pangtungnah uh khaw a phil pah.
22A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and brings down the strength of its confidence.
23A ol a ka aka tuem long tah, a hinglu te citcai khui lamkah a hoep a tlang.
23Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.
24Thinlen, moemlal, a ming ah hmuiyoi long tah, thinpom althanah neh a saii.
24The proud and arrogant man—“Scoffer” is his name— he works in the arrogance of pride.
25A kut loh a saii ham a aal dongah kolhnaw kah hoehhamnah loh amah a duek sak ni.
25The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.
26Hnin takuem ah hoehhamnah te a ngaidam dae, aka dueng long tah a paek phoeiah khaw a hnaih moneih.
26There are those who covet greedily all day long; but the righteous give and don’t withhold.
27Halang kah hmueih he tueilaehkoi ti bal vaengah, khonuen rhamtat la a khuen bal pueng.
27The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination— how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!
28Laithae kah laipai tah paltham vetih, aka hnatun hlang long ni a thui yoeyah eh.
28A false witness will perish. A man who listens speaks to eternity.
29Halang loh a mikhmuh dawk neh hlang a tanglue sak. Tedae aka thuem long tah a long, long ah a rhuep tih a yakming.
29A wicked man hardens his face; but as for the upright, he establishes his ways.
30BOEIPA aka tlai thil thai cueihnah khaw om pawh, lungcuei khaw om pawh, cilsuep khaw om thai pawh.
30There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
31Marhang khaw caemtloek hnin kah ham a tawn coeng dae, BOEIPA daengah ni loeihnah a dang.
31The horse is prepared for the day of battle; but victory is with the LORD.
