1約沙法 與他列祖同睡，葬在 大衛城 他列祖的墳地裏。他兒子 約蘭 接續他作王。
1And Josaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David: and Joram his son reigned in his stead.
2約蘭 有幾個兄弟，就是 約沙法 的兒子 亞撒利雅 、 耶歇 、 撒迦利雅 、 亞撒利雅 、 米迦勒 、 示法提雅 。這都是 猶大 王 約沙法 的兒子。
2And he had brethren the sons of Josaphat, Azarias, and Jahiel, and Zacharias, and Azaria, and Michael, and Saphatias, all these were the sons of Josaphat king of Juda.
3他們的父親將許多金銀、財寶，和 猶大 地的堅固城賜給他們；但將國賜給 約蘭 ，因為他是長子。
3And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and pensions, with strong cities in Juda: but the kingdom he gave to Joram, because he was the eldest.
4約蘭 興起坐他父的位，奮勇自強，就用刀殺了他的眾兄弟和 以色列 的幾個首領。
4So Joram rose up over the kingdom of his father: and when he had established himself, he slew all his brethren with the sword, and some of the princes of Israel.
5約蘭 登基的時候年三十二歲，在 耶路撒冷 作王八年。
5Joram was two and thirty years old when he began to reign: and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6他行 以色列 諸王的道，與 亞哈 家一樣；因他娶了 亞哈 的女兒為妻，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事。
6And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Achab had done: for his wife was a daughter of Achab, and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.
7耶和華卻因自己與 大衛 所立的約，不肯滅 大衛 的家，照他所應許的，永遠賜燈光與 大衛 和他的子孫。
7But the Lord would not destroy the house of David: because of the covenant which he had made with him: and because he had promised to give a lamp to him, and to his sons for ever.
8約蘭 年間， 以東 人背叛 猶大 ，脫離他的權下，自己立王。
8In those days Edom revolted, from being subject to Juda, and made themselves a king.
9約蘭 就率領軍長和所有的戰車，夜間起來，攻擊圍困他的 以東 人和車兵長。
9And Joram went over with his princes, and all his cavalry with him, and rose in the night, and defeated the Edomites who had surrounded him, and all the captains of his cavalry.
10這樣， 以東 人背叛 猶大 ，脫離他的權下，直到今日。那時， 立拿 人也背叛了，因為 約蘭 離棄耶和華－他列祖的上帝。
10However Edom revolted, from being under the dominion of Juda unto this day: at that time Lobna also revolted, from being under his hand. For he had forsaken the Lord the God of his fathers:
11他又在 猶大 諸山建築邱壇，使 耶路撒冷 的居民行邪淫，誘惑 猶大 人。
11Moreover he built also high places in the cities of Juda, and he made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and Juda to transgress.
12先知 以利亞 達信與 約蘭 說：「耶和華－你祖 大衛 的上帝如此說：『因為你不行你父 約沙法 和 猶大 王 亞撒 的道，
12And there was a letter brought him from Elias the prophet, in which it was written: Thus saith the Lord the God of David thy father: Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Josaphat thy father nor in the ways of Asa king of Juda,
13乃行 以色列 諸王的道，使 猶大 人和 耶路撒冷 的居民行邪淫，像 亞哈 家一樣，又殺了你父家比你好的諸兄弟。
13But hast walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and hast made Juda and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, imitating the fornication of the house of Achab, moreover also thou hast killed thy brethren, the house of thy father, better men than thyself,
14故此，耶和華降大災與你的百姓和你的妻子、兒女，並你一切所有的。
14Behold the Lord will strike thee with a great plague, with all thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy substance.
15你的腸子必患病，日加沉重，以致你的腸子墜落下來。』」
15And thou shalt be sick of a very grievous disease of thy bowels, till thy vital parts come out by little and little every day.
16以後，耶和華激動 非利士 人和靠近 古實 的 阿拉伯 人來攻擊 約蘭 。
16And the Lord stirred up against Joram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, who border on the Ethiopians.
17他們上來攻擊 猶大 ，侵入境內，擄掠了王宮裏所有的財貨和他的妻子、兒女，除了他小兒子 約哈斯 之外，沒有留下一個兒子。
17And they came up into the land of Juda, and wasted it, and they carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, his sons also, and his wives: so that there was no son left him but Joachaz, who was the youngest.
18這些事以後，耶和華使 約蘭 的腸子患不能醫治的病。
18And besides all this the Lord struck him with an incurable disease in his bowels.
19他患此病纏綿日久，過了二年，腸子墜落下來，病重而死。他的民沒有為他燒甚麼物件，像從前為他列祖所燒的一樣。
19And as day came after day, and time rolled on, two whole years passed: then after being wasted with a long consumption, so as to void his very bowels, his disease ended with his life. And he died of a most wretched illness, and the people did not make a funeral for him according to the manner of burning, as they had done for his ancestors.
20約蘭 登基的時候年三十二歲，在 耶路撒冷 作王八年。他去世無人思慕，眾人葬他在 大衛城 ，只是不在列王的墳墓裏。
20He was two and thirty years old when he began his reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he walked not rightly, and they buried him in the city of David: but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
