1约沙法 与他列祖同睡，葬在 大卫城 他列祖的坟地里。他儿子 约兰 接续他作王。
1And Josaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David: and Joram his son reigned in his stead.
2约兰 有几个兄弟，就是 约沙法 的儿子 亚撒利雅 、 耶歇 、 撒迦利雅 、 亚撒利雅 、 米迦勒 、 示法提雅 。这都是 犹大 王 约沙法 的儿子。
2And he had brethren the sons of Josaphat, Azarias, and Jahiel, and Zacharias, and Azaria, and Michael, and Saphatias, all these were the sons of Josaphat king of Juda.
3他们的父亲将许多金银、财宝，和 犹大 地的坚固城赐给他们；但将国赐给 约兰 ，因为他是长子。
3And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and pensions, with strong cities in Juda: but the kingdom he gave to Joram, because he was the eldest.
4约兰 兴起坐他父的位，奋勇自强，就用刀杀了他的众兄弟和 以色列 的几个首领。
4So Joram rose up over the kingdom of his father: and when he had established himself, he slew all his brethren with the sword, and some of the princes of Israel.
5约兰 登基的时候年三十二岁，在 耶路撒冷 作王八年。
5Joram was two and thirty years old when he began to reign: and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6他行 以色列 诸王的道，与 亚哈 家一样；因他娶了 亚哈 的女儿为妻，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事。
6And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Achab had done: for his wife was a daughter of Achab, and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.
7耶和华却因自己与 大卫 所立的约，不肯灭 大卫 的家，照他所应许的，永远赐灯光与 大卫 和他的子孙。
7But the Lord would not destroy the house of David: because of the covenant which he had made with him: and because he had promised to give a lamp to him, and to his sons for ever.
8约兰 年间， 以东 人背叛 犹大 ，脱离他的权下，自己立王。
8In those days Edom revolted, from being subject to Juda, and made themselves a king.
9约兰 就率领军长和所有的战车，夜间起来，攻击围困他的 以东 人和车兵长。
9And Joram went over with his princes, and all his cavalry with him, and rose in the night, and defeated the Edomites who had surrounded him, and all the captains of his cavalry.
10这样， 以东 人背叛 犹大 ，脱离他的权下，直到今日。那时， 立拿 人也背叛了，因为 约兰 离弃耶和华—他列祖的 神。
10However Edom revolted, from being under the dominion of Juda unto this day: at that time Lobna also revolted, from being under his hand. For he had forsaken the Lord the God of his fathers:
11他又在 犹大 诸山建筑邱坛，使 耶路撒冷 的居民行邪淫，诱惑 犹大 人。
11Moreover he built also high places in the cities of Juda, and he made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and Juda to transgress.
12先知 以利亚 达信与 约兰 说：「耶和华—你祖 大卫 的 神如此说：『因为你不行你父 约沙法 和 犹大 王 亚撒 的道，
12And there was a letter brought him from Elias the prophet, in which it was written: Thus saith the Lord the God of David thy father: Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Josaphat thy father nor in the ways of Asa king of Juda,
13乃行 以色列 诸王的道，使 犹大 人和 耶路撒冷 的居民行邪淫，像 亚哈 家一样，又杀了你父家比你好的诸兄弟。
13But hast walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and hast made Juda and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, imitating the fornication of the house of Achab, moreover also thou hast killed thy brethren, the house of thy father, better men than thyself,
14故此，耶和华降大灾与你的百姓和你的妻子、儿女，并你一切所有的。
14Behold the Lord will strike thee with a great plague, with all thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy substance.
15你的肠子必患病，日加沉重，以致你的肠子坠落下来。』」
15And thou shalt be sick of a very grievous disease of thy bowels, till thy vital parts come out by little and little every day.
16以后，耶和华激动 非利士 人和靠近 古实 的 阿拉伯 人来攻击 约兰 。
16And the Lord stirred up against Joram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, who border on the Ethiopians.
17他们上来攻击 犹大 ，侵入境内，掳掠了王宫里所有的财货和他的妻子、儿女，除了他小儿子 约哈斯 之外，没有留下一个儿子。
17And they came up into the land of Juda, and wasted it, and they carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, his sons also, and his wives: so that there was no son left him but Joachaz, who was the youngest.
18这些事以后，耶和华使 约兰 的肠子患不能医治的病。
18And besides all this the Lord struck him with an incurable disease in his bowels.
19他患此病缠绵日久，过了二年，肠子坠落下来，病重而死。他的民没有为他烧什么物件，像从前为他列祖所烧的一样。
19And as day came after day, and time rolled on, two whole years passed: then after being wasted with a long consumption, so as to void his very bowels, his disease ended with his life. And he died of a most wretched illness, and the people did not make a funeral for him according to the manner of burning, as they had done for his ancestors.
20约兰 登基的时候年三十二岁，在 耶路撒冷 作王八年。他去世无人思慕，众人葬他在 大卫城 ，只是不在列王的坟墓里。
20He was two and thirty years old when he began his reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he walked not rightly, and they buried him in the city of David: but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
