1約沙法 大有尊榮資財，就與 亞哈 結親。
1Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance; and he allied himself with Ahab by marriage.
2過了幾年，他下到 撒馬利亞 去見 亞哈 ； 亞哈 為他和跟從他的人宰了許多牛羊，勸他與自己同去攻取 基列 的 拉末 。
2And after a lapse of years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that were with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead.
3以色列 王 亞哈 問 猶大 王 約沙法 說：「你肯同我去攻取 基列 的 拉末 嗎？」他回答說：「你我不分彼此，我的民與你的民一樣，必與你同去爭戰。」
3And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah: 'Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead?' And he answered him: 'I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.'
4約沙法 對 以色列 王說：「請你先求問耶和華。」
4And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel: 'Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD today.'
5於是 以色列 王招聚先知四百人，問他們說：「我們上去攻取 基列 的 拉末 可以不可以？」他們說：「可以上去，因為上帝必將那城交在王的手裏。」
5Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said unto them: 'Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?' And they said: 'Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.'
6約沙法 說：「這裏不是還有耶和華的先知，我們可以求問他嗎？」
6But Jehoshaphat said: 'Is there not here besides a prophet of the LORD, that we might inquire of him?'
7以色列 王對 約沙法 說：「還有一個人，是 音拉 的兒子 米該雅 。我們可以託他求問耶和華，只是我恨他；因為他指着我所說的預言，不說吉語，常說凶言。」 約沙法 說：「王不必這樣說。」
7And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat: 'There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD; but I hate him; for he never prophesieth good concerning me, but always evil; the same is Micaiah the son of Imla.' And Jehoshaphat said: 'Let not the king say so.'
8以色列 王就召了一個太監來，說：「你快去將 音拉 的兒子 米該雅 召來。」
8Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said: 'Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.'
9以色列 王和 猶大 王 約沙法 在 撒馬利亞 城門前的空場上，各穿朝服坐在位上，所有的先知都在他們面前說預言。
9Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they sat in a threshing-floor at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
10基拿拿 的兒子 西底家 造了兩個鐵角，說：「耶和華如此說：『你要用這角牴觸 亞蘭 人，直到將他們滅盡。』」
10And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said: 'Thus saith the LORD: With these shalt thou gore the Arameans, until they be consumed.'
11所有的先知也都這樣預言說：「可以上 基列 的 拉末 去，必然得勝，因為耶和華必將那城交在王的手中。」
11And all the prophets prophesied so, saying: 'Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper; for the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.'
12那去召 米該雅 的使者對 米該雅 說：「眾先知一口同音地都向王說吉言，你不如與他們說一樣的話，也說吉言。」
12And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying: 'Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.'
13米該雅 說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，我的上帝說甚麼，我就說甚麼。」
13And Micaiah said: 'As the LORD liveth, what my God saith, that will I speak.'
14米該雅 到王面前，王問他說：「 米該雅 啊，我們上去攻取 基列 的 拉末 可以不可以？」他說：「可以上去，必然得勝，敵人必交在你們手裏。」
14And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him: 'Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?' And he said: 'Go ye up, and prosper; and they shall be delivered into your hand.'
15王對他說：「我當囑咐你幾次，你才奉耶和華的名向我說實話呢？」
15And the king said to him: 'How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD.'
16米該雅 說：「我看見 以色列 眾民散在山上，如同沒有牧人的羊群一般。耶和華說：『這民沒有主人，他們可以平平安安地各歸各家去。』」
16And he said: 'I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd; and the LORD said: These have no master, let them return every man to his house in peace.'
17以色列 王對 約沙法 說：「我豈沒有告訴你，這人指着我所說的預言，不說吉語，單說凶言嗎？」
17And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat: 'Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?'
18米該雅 說：「你們要聽耶和華的話。我看見耶和華坐在寶座上，天上的萬軍侍立在他左右。
18And he said: 'Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting upon His throne, and all the host of heaven standing on His right hand and on His left.
19耶和華說：『誰去引誘 以色列 王 亞哈 上 基列 的 拉末 去陣亡呢？』這個就這樣說，那個就那樣說。
19And the LORD said: who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spoke saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
20隨後，有一個神靈出來，站在耶和華面前說：『我去引誘他。』耶和華問他說：『你用何法呢？』
20And there came forth the spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said: I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him: Wherewith?
21他說：『我去，要在他眾先知口中作謊言的靈。』耶和華說：『這樣，你必能引誘他，你去如此行吧！』
21And he said: I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said: Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also; go forth, and do so.
22現在耶和華使謊言的靈入了你這些先知的口，並且耶和華已經命定降禍與你。」
22Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets; and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.'
23基拿拿 的兒子 西底家 前來打 米該雅 的臉，說：「耶和華的靈從哪裏離開我與你說話呢？」
23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the check, and said: 'Which way went the spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?'
24米該雅 說：「你進嚴密的屋子藏躲的那日，就必看見了。」
24And Micaiah said: 'Behold, thou shalt see on that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.'
25以色列 王說：「將 米該雅 帶回，交給邑宰 亞們 和王的兒子 約阿施 ，說：
25And the king of Israel said: 'Take ye Micaiah; and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
26『王如此說：把這個人下在監裏，使他受苦，吃不飽喝不足，等候我平平安安地回來。』」
26and say: Thus saith the king: Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with scant bread and with scant water, until I return in peace.'
27米該雅 說：「你若能平安回來，那就是耶和華沒有藉我說這話了」；又說：「眾民哪，你們都要聽！」
27And Micaiah said: 'If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me.' And he said: 'Hear, ye peoples, all of you.'
28以色列 王和 猶大 王 約沙法 上 基列 的 拉末 去了。
28So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the kind of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.
29以色列 王對 約沙法 說：「我要改裝上陣，你可以仍穿王服。」於是 以色列 王改裝，他們就上陣去了。
29And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat: 'I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but put thou on thy robes.' So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.
30先是 亞蘭 王吩咐車兵長說：「他們的 兵將 ，無論大小，你們都不可與他們爭戰，只要與 以色列 王爭戰。」
30Now the king of Aram had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying: 'Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.'
31車兵長看見 約沙法 便說，這必是 以色列 王，就轉過去與他爭戰。 約沙法 一呼喊，耶和華就幫助他，上帝又感動他們離開他。
31And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said: 'It is the king of Israel.' Therefore they turned about to fight against him; but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32車兵長見不是 以色列 王，就轉去不追他了。
32And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
33有一人隨便開弓，恰巧射入 以色列 王的甲縫裏。王對趕車的說：「我受了重傷，你轉過車來，拉我出陣吧！」
33And a certain man drew his bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the lower armour and the breastplate; wherefore he said to the driver of the chariot: 'Turn thy hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am sore wounded.'
34那日陣勢越戰越猛， 以色列 王勉強站在車上抵擋 亞蘭 人，直到晚上。約在日落的時候，王就死了。
34And the battle increased that day; howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Arameans until the even; and about the time of the going down of the sun he died.
