1所羅門 王在法老的女兒之外，又寵愛許多外邦女子，就是 摩押 女子、 亞捫 女子、 以東 女子、 西頓 女子、 赫 人女子。
1Now king Solomon loved many foreign women, besides the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
2論到這些國的人，耶和華曾曉諭 以色列 人說：「你們不可與她們往來相通，因為她們必誘惑你們的心去隨從她們的神。」 所羅門 卻戀愛這些女子。
2of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel: 'Ye shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you; for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods'; Solomon did cleave unto these in love.
3所羅門 有妃七百，都是公主；還有嬪三百。這些妃嬪誘惑他的心。
3And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.
4所羅門 年老的時候，他的妃嬪誘惑他的心去隨從別神，不效法他父親 大衛 誠誠實實地順服耶和華－他的上帝。
4For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not whole with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
5因為 所羅門 隨從 西頓 人的女神 亞斯她錄 和 亞捫 人可憎的神 米勒公 。
5For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the detestation of the Ammonites.
6所羅門 行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，不效法他父親 大衛 專心順從耶和華。
6And Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
7所羅門 為 摩押 可憎的神 基抹 和 亞捫 人可憎的神 摩洛 ，在 耶路撒冷 對面的山上建築邱 壇 。
7Then did Solomon build a high place for Chemosh the detestation of Moab, in the mount that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the detestation of the children of Ammon.
8他為那些向自己的神燒香獻祭的外邦女子，就是他娶來的妃嬪也是這樣行。
8And so did he for all his foreign wives, who offered and sacrificed unto their gods.
9耶和華向 所羅門 發怒，因為他的心偏離向他兩次顯現的耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝。
9And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared unto him twice,
10耶和華曾吩咐他不可隨從別神，他卻沒有遵守耶和華所吩咐的。
10and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
11所以耶和華對他說：「你既行了這事，不遵守我所吩咐你守的約和律例，我必將你的國奪回，賜給你的臣子。
11Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon: 'Forasmuch as this hath been in thy mind, and thou hast not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
12然而，因你父親 大衛 的緣故，我不在你活着的日子行這事，必從你兒子的手中將國奪回。
12Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it, for David thy father's sake; but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.
13只是我不將全國奪回，要因我僕人 大衛 和我所選擇的 耶路撒冷 ，還留一支派給你的兒子。」
13Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to thy son; for David My servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.'
14耶和華使 以東 人 哈達 興起，作 所羅門 的敵人；他是 以東 王的後裔。
14And the LORD raised up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the king's seed in Edom.
15先前 大衛 攻擊 以東 ，元帥 約押 上去葬埋陣亡的人，將 以東 的男丁都殺了。
15For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, and had smitten every male in Edom —
16約押 和 以色列 眾人在 以東 住了六個月，直到將 以東 的男丁盡都剪除。
16for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom —
17那時 哈達 還是幼童；他和他父親的臣僕，幾個 以東 人逃往 埃及 。
17that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.
18他們從 米甸 起行，到了 巴蘭 ；從 巴蘭 帶着幾個人來到 埃及 見 埃及 王法老；法老為他派定糧食，又給他房屋田地。
18And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.
19哈達 在法老面前大蒙恩惠，以致法老將王后 答比匿 的妹子賜他為妻。
19And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
20答比匿 的妹子給 哈達 生了一個兒子，名叫 基努拔 。 答比匿 使 基努拔 在法老的宮裏斷奶， 基努拔 就與法老的眾子一同住在法老的宮裏。
20And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh's house among the sons of Pharaoh.
21哈達 在 埃及 聽見 大衛 與他列祖同睡，元帥 約押 也死了，就對法老說：「求王容我回本國去。」
21And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh: 'Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.'
22法老對他說：「你在我這裏有甚麼缺乏，你竟要回你本國去呢？」他回答說：「我沒有缺乏甚麼，只是求王容我回去。」
22Then Pharaoh said unto him: 'But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country?' And he answered: 'Nothing; howbeit let me depart in any wise.'
23上帝又使 以利亞大 的兒子 利遜 興起，作 所羅門 的敵人。他先前逃避主人 瑣巴 王 哈大底謝 。
23And God raised up another adversary unto him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah.
24大衛 擊殺 瑣巴 人的時候， 利遜 招聚了一群人，自己作他們的頭目，往 大馬士革 居住，在那裏作王。
24And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a troop, when David slew them of Zobah; and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.
25所羅門 活着的時候， 哈達 為患之外， 利遜 也作 以色列 的敵人。他恨惡 以色列 人，且作了 亞蘭 人的王。
25And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did; and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Aram.
26所羅門 的臣僕、 尼八 的兒子 耶羅波安 也舉手攻擊王。他是 以法蓮 支派的 洗利達 人，他母親是寡婦，名叫 洗魯阿 。
26And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow, he also lifted up his hand against the king.
27他舉手攻擊王的緣故，乃由先前 所羅門 建造 米羅 ，修補他父親 大衛城 的破口。
27And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breach of the city of David his father.
28耶羅波安 是大有才能的人。 所羅門 見這少年人殷勤，就派他監管 約瑟 家的一切工程。
28And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour; and Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he gave him charge over all the labour of the house of Joseph.
29一日， 耶羅波安 出了 耶路撒冷 ， 示羅 人先知 亞希雅 在路上遇見他； 亞希雅 身上穿着一件新衣。他們二人在田野，以外並無別人。
29And it came to pass at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; now Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field.
30亞希雅 將自己穿的那件新衣撕成十二片，
30And Ahijah laid hold of the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces.
31對 耶羅波安 說：「你可以拿十片。耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝如此說：『我必將國從 所羅門 手裏奪回，將十個支派賜給你。（
31And he said to Jeroboam: 'Take thee ten pieces; for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee —
32我因僕人 大衛 和我在 以色列 眾支派中所選擇的 耶路撒冷 城的緣故，仍給 所羅門 留一個支派。）
32but he shall have one tribe, for My servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel —
33因為他離棄我，敬拜 西頓 人的女神 亞斯她錄 、 摩押 的神 基抹 ，和 亞捫 人的神 米勒公 ，沒有遵從我的道，行我眼中看為正的事， 守 我的律例典章，像他父親 大衛 一樣。
33because that they have forsaken Me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon; and they have not walked in My ways, to do that which is right in Mine eyes, and to keep My statutes and Mine ordinances, as did David his father.
34但我不從他手裏將全國奪回；使他終身為君，是因我所揀選的僕人 大衛 謹守我的誡命律例。
34Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him prince all the days of his life, for David My servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept My commandments and My statutes;
35我必從他兒子的手裏將國奪回，以十個支派賜給你，
35but I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.
36還留一個支派給他的兒子，使我僕人 大衛 在我所選擇立我名的 耶路撒冷 城裏，在我面前長有燈光。
36And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David My servant may have a lamp alway before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen Me to put My name there.
37我必揀選你，使你照心裏一切所願的，作王治理 以色列 。
37And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign over all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.
38你若聽從我一切所吩咐你的，遵行我的道，行我眼中看為正的事，謹守我的律例誡命，像我僕人 大衛 所行的，我就與你同在，為你立堅固的家，像我為 大衛 所立的一樣，將 以色列 人賜給你。
38And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in My ways, and do that which is right in Mine eyes, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as David My servant did, that I will be with thee, and will build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.
39我必因 所羅門 所行的使 大衛 後裔受患難，但不至於永遠。』」
39And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.'
40所羅門 因此想要殺 耶羅波安 。 耶羅波安 卻起身逃往 埃及 ；到了 埃及 王 示撒 那裏，就住在 埃及 ，直到 所羅門 死了。
40Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam; but Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
41所羅門 其餘的事，凡他所行的和他的智慧都寫在 所羅門 記上。
41Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
42所羅門 在 耶路撒冷 作 以色列 眾人的王共四十年。
42And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
43所羅門 與他列祖同睡，葬在他父親 大衛 的城裏。他兒子 羅波安 接續他作王。
43And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
