1ʻOku monūʻia ia ʻaia ʻoku tokanga ki he masiva: ʻe fakamoʻui ia ʻe Sihova he ʻaho ʻoe kovi.
1Unto the end, understanding for the sons of Core.
2ʻE tauhi ia ʻe Sihova, mo pule ke moʻui ia; pea te ne monūʻia ʻi māmani: pea ʻe ʻikai te ke tukuange ia ki he loto ʻo hono ngaahi fili.
2As the hart panteth after the fountains of water; so my soul panteth after thee, O God.
3ʻE fakamālohi ia ʻe Sihova ʻi he tokotoʻanga fakamamahi: te ke ngaohi hono mohenga kotoa pē ʻi hono mahaki.
3My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God?
4Naʻaku pehē, “ʻE Sihova, ke ke ʻaloʻofa mai kiate au: fakamoʻui hoku laumālie; he kuo u fai angahala kiate koe.”
4My tears have been any bread day and night, whilst it is said to me daily: Where is thy God?
5ʻOku lauʻikoviʻi au ʻe hoku ngaahi fili: ʻE mate ʻafē ia, pea ʻauha hono hingoa?
5These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me: for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God: With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting.
6Pea kapau ʻe haʻu ia ke vakai au, ʻoku ne lea loi: ʻoku tānaki ʻe hono loto kiate ia ʻae kovi; ʻoku ʻalu ia kituaʻā, ʻo fakahā ia.
6Why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance,
7ʻOku fefanafanahi kiate au ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au: ʻoku nau fakakaukau kovi kiate au.
7And my God. My soul is troubled within myself: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan and Hermoniim, from the little hill.
8ʻOku nau pehē, “ʻOku piki maʻu kiate ia ʻae mahaki kovi: pea ko ʻene tokoto ni ʻe ʻikai te ne toetuʻu hake mei ai.”
8Deep calleth on deep, at the noise of thy flood-gates. All thy heights and thy billows have passed over me.
9ʻIo, ko hoku kaumeʻa moʻoni, ʻaia naʻaku falala ki ai, ʻaia naʻa ne kai ʻi heʻeku mā, kuo hiki hake ʻe ia hono mui vaʻe kiate au.
9In the daytime the Lord hath commanded his mercy; and a canticle to him in the night. With me is prayer to the God of my life.
10Ka ko koe, ʻE Sihova, ke ke ʻaloʻofa kiate au, mo fokotuʻu hake au, pea te u totongi kiate kinautolu.
10I will say to God: Thou art my support. Why hast thou forgotten me? and why go I mourning, whilst my enemy afflicteth me?
11ʻOku ou ʻilo ʻi he meʻa ni ʻoku ke finangalo lelei kiate au, koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻikai kalanga ʻi he fiefia ʻa hoku fili kiate au.
11Whilst my bones are broken, my enemies who trouble me have reproached me; Whilst they say to me day be day: Where is thy God?
12Pea ko au, ʻoku ke poupou hake au ʻi heʻeku angatonu, pea te ke fokotuʻu au ʻi ho ʻao ʻo taʻengata.
12Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me? Hope thou in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God.
13Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli, talu mei muʻa, ʻo taʻengata. ʻEmeni mo ʻEmeni.
