Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
Berean Standard Bible
1KOE der lokaia kelail on ol laud amen, a panaui i due jam amen, a me pulepul due ri om akan,
1Do not rebuke an older man, but appeal to him as to a father. Treat younger men as brothers,
2Li laud due in akan, a me pulepul due ri om li akan ni makelekel melel.
2older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.
3Kakaki li odi kan, me li odi melel.
3Honor the widows who are truly widows.
4A ma li odi na jeri kan mia, de wa en na jeri ko, re pan padakki maj apwali pein ar penainai, o depuk on ar papa o nono, pwe i me mau o kon on Kot.
4But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to show godliness to their own family and repay their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God.
5A iet li odi melel amen, me kelep, me kin kaporoporeki Kot, o podidi on nidinid o kapakap akan ni pon o ni ran.
5The widow who is truly in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day in her petitions and prayers.
6A me kin kapwaiada a inon jued nan i melar ni a memaur.
6But she who lives for pleasure is dead even while she is still alive.
7Mepukat padapadaki, pwe ren jota karaunepa.
7Give these instructions to the believers, so that they will be above reproach.
8A ma amen jota kin apwali na kan, a maj toun im a kan, i me kajela pojon, o a jued jan me jopojon amen.
8If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
9Li odi men pan kileledi, ma a jota pulepul jan jaunpar woneijok o ma a warok en ol ta men.
9A widow should be enrolled if she is at least sixty years old, the wife of one man,
10O me kalok mau ki a wiawia mau, o me wiada jeri, o me apwali men kairu, o me widen na en jaraui kan, o me kadek on me kamekame kan, o me kapwaiada jon en wiawia mau karoj.
10and well known for good deeds such as bringing up children, entertaining strangers, washing the feet of the saints, imparting relief to the afflicted, and devoting herself to every good work.
11A der tuki on li odi pulepul akan, pwe irail lao inon wei jan Krijtuj, re men pur on papaud.
11But refuse to enroll younger widows. For when their passions draw them away from Christ, they will want to marry,
12A irail pan pakadeikada, pwe re muei janer tapin pojon.
12and thus will incur judgment because they are setting aside their first faith.
13A re pil ponkake o papan jili im akan, a kaidin ponkaka ta, pwe re pil poupou jili, o pil uja jili en amen a wiawia, o ar lokelokaia me jota mau.
13At the same time they will also learn to be idle, going from house to house and being not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, discussing things they should not mention.
14A i men, li odi pulepul en papaud, o naitik, o apwali im ar, o der kare on me jued o, en lalaue.
14So I advise the younger widows to marry, have children, and manage their households, denying the adversary occasion for slander.
15Pwe akai me wuki wei, wuki on Jatan.
15For some have already turned aside to follow Satan.
16A ma li odi men mi ren ol me pojon amen de ren li me pojon amen, a en pein apapwali i o der katoutoui momodijou, pwen itar on me li odi melel.
16If any believing woman has dependent widows, she must assist them and not allow the church to be burdened, so that it can help the widows who are truly in need.
17Jaunkoa kan me kin dodok mau, pan waunla melel, ir me kin jauaja ni padak o kawewe.
17Elders who lead effectively are worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.
18Pwe kijin likau o majani: Koe der penadi au en kau ol, me tiakedi wan wit. O toun dodok me war on pwain en dodok.
18For the Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and, “The worker is worthy of his wages.”
19Karaun pan jaunkoa men der kamelele, ma jo jaunkadede riamen de jilimen mia.
19Do not entertain an accusation against an elder, except on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
20Ir me wia dip, kapun on mon karoj, pwe me tei kan en majakala.
20But those who persist in sin should be rebuked in front of everyone, so that the others will stand in fear of sin.
21I kakaliki on uk mon Kot Krijtuj Iejuj o tounlan lipilipil akan, koe en wiada mepukat, o jo lipilipil, o jo pwen konekon ren aramaj.
21I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels to maintain these principles without bias, and to do nothing out of partiality.
22Der madan pokadan pon amen pa om, o pil der dipane kila dip en amen kai, a pein koe en makelekel.
22Do not be too quick in the laying on of hands and thereby share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
23Koe der nim pil, a wain kij me kon on kaped om o pweki om jomau pan pak toto.
23Stop drinking only water and use a little wine instead, because of your stomach and your frequent ailments.
24Dip en akai aramaj me janjal ap mau on kadeikada anjau wet, a dip en me tei kan pan janjal eu ran.
24The sins of some men are obvious, going ahead of them to judgment; but the sins of others do not surface until later.
25Pil dueta en akai ar wiawia mau me janjal metet, a me tei kan jota kak rirala.
25In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even the ones that are inconspicuous cannot remain hidden.
