1Hier volgen de zonen van Israël: Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issakar, Zabulon,
1These are the sons of Israel; Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,
2Dan, Josef, Benjamin, Neftali, Gad en Aser.
2Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
3De zonen van Juda waren Er, Onan en Sjela; deze drie werden hem geschonken door Bat-Sjóea, de kanaänietische. Er, Juda’s oudste zoon, deugde niet in Jahweh’s ogen; daarom strafte Hij hem met de dood.
3¶ The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD ; and he slew him.
4Zijn schoondochter Tamar schonk hem Fáres en Zara. Juda had dus in het geheel vijf kinderen.
4And Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.
5De zonen van Fáres waren Chesron en Chamoel.
5The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul.
6De zonen van Zara waren: Zimri, Etan, Heman, Kalkol en Déra; in het geheel vijf.
6And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all.
7De zoon van Zimri was Karmi; de zoon van Karmi was Akar, die Israël in het verderf stortte, omdat hij zich aan de ban vergreep.
7And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.
8De zoon van Etan was Azarja.
8And the sons of Ethan; Azariah.
9De zonen, die Chesron kreeg, waren Jerachmeël, Ram en Keloebai.
9The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.
10Ram verwekte Amminadab; Amminadab verwekte Naässon, het opperhoofd der Judeërs;
10And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;
11Naässon verwekte Salma; Salma verwekte Bóoz,
11And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz,
12Bóoz verwekte Obed; Obed verwekte Jesse.
12And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,
13Jesse verwekte Eliab zijn eerstgeborene, Abinadab zijn tweede, Sjima zijn derde,
13¶ And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third,
14Netanel zijn vierde, Raddai zijn vijfde,
14Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
15Osem zijn zesde, en David zijn zevende zoon.
15Ozem the sixth, David the seventh:
16Hun zusters heetten Seroeja en Abigáil. De zonen van Seroeja waren Absjai, Joab en Asaël, in het geheel drie.
16Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.
17Abigáil bracht Amasa ter wereld; de vader van Amasa was Jéter, de Jisjmaëliet.
17And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite.
18Kaleb, de zoon van Chesron, kreeg van zijn vrouw Azoeba een dochter, Jeriot genaamd; haar zonen waren: Jésjer, Sjobab en Ardon.
18¶ And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.
19Na de dood van Azoeba trouwde Kaleb met Efrat; deze schonk hem Choer.
19And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.
20Choer verwekte Oeri, Oeri verwekte Besalel.
20And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.
21Later hield Chesron gemeenschap met de dochter van Makir, den stamvader van Gilad; hij huwde haar, ofschoon hij al zestig was, en zij schonk hem Segoeb.
21¶ And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.
22Segoeb verwekte Jaïr; hij beschikte over drie en twintig steden in het land Gilad.
22And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.
23Maar Gesjoer en Aram ontnamen hun de kampementen van Jaïr, namelijk Kenat met bijbehorende plaatsen; in het geheel zestig plaatsen, allemaal stichtingen van Makir, den stamvader van Gilad.
23And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
24Na de dood van Chesron hield Kaleb gemeenschap met de vrouw van zijn vader Chesron, en zij schonk hem Asjchoer, den stichter van Tekóa.
24And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb-ephratah, then Abiah Hezron’s wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.
25De zonen van Jerachmeël, den oudsten zoon van Chesron waren: Ram, de oudste, en zijn broers Boena, Oren, en Osem.
25¶ And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.
26Ook had Jerachmeël nog een andere vrouw, die Atara heette; zij was de moeder van Onam.
26Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27De zonen van Ram, den oudsten zoon van Jerachmeël, waren: Máas, Jamin en Éker.
27And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.
28De zonen van Onam waren Sjammai en Jada. De zonen van Sjammai waren Nadab en Abisjoer.
28And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab, and Abishur.
29De vrouw van Abisjoer heette Abicháil; zij schonk hem Achban en Molid.
29And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.
30De zonen van Nadab waren Séled en Appáim. Séled stierf zonder kinderen,
30And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children.
31maar Appáim verwekte Jisji. De zoon van Jisji was Sjesjan. De zoon van Sjesjan was Achlai.
31And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.
32De zonen van Jada, den broer van Sjammai, waren Jéter en Jonatan. Jéter stierf zonder kinderen,
32And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.
33maar Jonatan verwekte Pélet en Zaza. Dit waren de afstammelingen van Jerachmeël.
33And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
34Sjesjan had alleen maar dochters, geen zonen. Sjesjan bezat echter een egyptischen slaaf, die Jarcha heette;
34¶ Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
35daarom gaf Sjesjan zijn dochter tot vrouw aan zijn slaaf Jarcha; zij schonk hem Attai.
35And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.
36Attai verwekte Natan; Natan verwekte Zabad;
36And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,
37Zabad verwekte Eflal; Eflal verwekte Obed;
37And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,
38Obed verwekte Jehoe; Jehoe verwekte Azarja;
38And Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,
39Azarja verwekte Chéles; Chéles verwekte Elasa;
39And Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat Eleasah,
40Elasa verwekte Sismai; Sismai verwekte Sjalloem;
40And Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat Shallum,
41Sjalloem verwekte Jekamja; Jekamja verwekte Elisjama.
41And Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat Elishama.
42De oudste zoon van Kaleb, den broer van Jerachmeël, was Mesja; deze was de vader van Zif en van de zonen van Maresja, den vader van Hebron.
42¶ Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were , Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.
43De zonen van Hebron waren Kórach, Tappóeach, Rékem en Sjéma.
43And the sons of Hebron; Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema.
44Sjéma verwekte Rácham, den vader van Jorkeam; Rékem verwekte Sjammai.
44And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam: and Rekem begat Shammai.
45De zoon van Sjammai was Maon; Maon was de vader van Bet-Soer.
45And the son of Shammai was Maon: and Maon was the father of Beth-zur.
46Efa, de bijvrouw van Kaleb, schonk het leven aan Charan, Mosa en Gazez. Charan verwekte Jodai.
46And Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bare Haran, and Moza, and Gazez: and Haran begat Gazez.
47De zonen van Jodai waren: Régem, Jotam, Gesjan, Pélet, Efa en Sjáaf.
47And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.
48Maäka, een bijvrouw van Kaleb, schonk het leven aan Sjéber en Tirchana;
48Maachah, Caleb’s concubine, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah.
49ook baarde zij Sjáaf, den vader van Madmanna, en Sjewa, den vader van Makbena en Giba. Aksa was de dochter van Kaleb.
49She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.
50Dit waren de afstammelingen van Kaleb. De zonen van Choer, den oudsten zoon van Efrat, waren Sjobal de vader van Kirjat-Jearim,
50¶ These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim,
51Salma de vader van Betlehem, en Charef de vader van Bet-Gader.
51Salma the father of Beth-lehem, Hareph the father of Beth-gader.
52Sjobal, de vader van Kirjat-Jearim, had nog andere kinderen, namelijk: Reaja, het halve geslacht Manáchat.
52And Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.
53In Kirjat-Jearim woonden de volgende geslachten: dat van Jéter, van Poet, van Sjoema en van Misjra; hieruit kwamen weer de lieden van Sora en Esjtaol voort.
53And the families of Kirjath-jearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites.
54De zonen van Salma waren Betlehem, het geslacht van Netofa, Atrot-Bet-Joab, het halve geslacht Manáchat, de Sorieten,
54The sons of Salma; Beth-lehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.
55en de geslachten der schriftgeleerden, die te Jabes woonden, namelijk die van Tira, van Sjima en van Sjoeka. Dit waren de Kinieten, die van Chammat afstammen, den vader van de familie Rekab.
55And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
