1De zonen van Asaf, Heman en Jedoetoen werden door David en de legeroversten aangewezen, om op de citers, harpen en cymbalen te spelen. Hier volgt een opsomming van hen, die met deze tak van dienst werden belast.
1Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
2De groep van Asaf: Zakkoer, Josef, Netanja, Asjaréla; het waren de zonen van Asaf, die onder leiding van Asaf de door den koning voorgeschreven muziek vol begeestering moesten uitvoeren.
2Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.
3De groep van Jedoetoen: Gedaljáhoe, Soeri, Jesjajáhoe, Chasjabjáhoe en Mattitjáhoe, in het geheel zes zonen van Jedoetoen, die onder leiding van hun vader Jedoetoen bij het loven en prijzen van Jahweh vol begeestering de citer moesten spelen.
3Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD .
4De groep van Heman: Boekki-jáhoe, Mattanjáhoe, Oezziël, Sjeboeël, Jerimot, Chananja, Chanani, Elijáta, Giddalti, Romamti-Ézer, Josjbekásja, Mallóti, Hotir en Machaziot, zonen van Heman;
4Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth:
5ze waren allen zonen van Heman, den ziener, die den koning Gods woorden vertolkte; want om zijn aanzien te verhogen, had God aan Heman veertien zonen en drie dochters geschonken.
5All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
6Naar koninklijke verordening moesten ze allen onder leiding van hun vader Asaf, Jedoetoen en Heman met cymbalen, harpen en citers in het heiligdom van Jahweh de liederen begeleiden bij de eredienst in het huis van God.
6All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD , with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
7Hun ambtgenoten meegerekend, die in de liederen van Jahweh waren geoefend, telden ze in het geheel tweehonderd acht en tachtig kunstenaars.
7So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD , even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.
8Om hun beurt vast te stellen wierpen zij het lot, de minderen evengoed als de voornamen, de deskundigen evengoed als de leerlingen.
8¶ And they cast lots, ward against ward , as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.
9Het eerste lot viel op Josef, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man; het tweede op Gedaljáhoe, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
9Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve:
10het derde op Zakkoer, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
10The third to Zaccur, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
11het vierde op Jisri, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;,
11The fourth to Izri, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
12het vijfde op Netanjáhoe, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
12The fifth to Nethaniah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
13het zesde op Boekki-jáhoe, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
13The sixth to Bukkiah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
14het zevende op Jesjaréla, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
14The seventh to Jesharelah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
15het achtste op Jesjajáhoe, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
15The eighth to Jeshaiah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
16het negende op Mattanjáhoe, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
16The ninth to Mattaniah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
17het tiende op Sjimi, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
17The tenth to Shimei, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
18het elfde op Azarel, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
18The eleventh to Azareel, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
19het twaalfde op Chasjabja, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
19The twelfth to Hashabiah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
20het dertiende op Sjoebaël, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
20The thirteenth to Shubael, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
21het veertiende op Mattitjáhoe, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
21The fourteenth to Mattithiah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
22het vijftiende op Jeremot, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
22The fifteenth to Jeremoth, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
23het zestiende op Chananjáhoe, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
23The sixteenth to Hananiah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
24het zeventiende op Josjbekásja, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
24The seventeenth to Joshbekashah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
25het achttiende op Chanani, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
25The eighteenth to Hanani, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
26het negentiende op Mallóti, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
26The nineteenth to Mallothi, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
27het twintigste op Eli-játa, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
27The twentieth to Eliathah, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
28het een en twintigste op Hotir, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
28The one and twentieth to Hothir, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
29het twee en twintigste op Giddalti, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
29The two and twentieth to Giddalti, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
30het drie en twintigste op Machaziot, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man;
30The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
31het vier en twintigste op Romamti, met zijn zonen en broeders twaalf man.
31The four and twentieth to Romamti-ezer, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve.
