Bible Mutal (Kosraean)
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
1Sruhila ke mwe nim ku ac oru kom in wowon ac orekma lalfon. Sruhi uh orala sie mwet in lalfonla.
1Wine is a mocker, strong drink is riotous; and whosoever reeleth thereby is not wise.
2Kom in sangeng ke kasrkusrak lun sie tokosra oana ke kom sangeng ke ngutngut lun soko lion. Kom fin akkasrkusrakye sie tokosra, kom sifacna eiskomyang nu ke misa.
2The terror of a king is as the roaring of a lion: he that provoketh him to anger forfeiteth his life.
3Mwet lalfon uh pa sripauk akukuin uh. Ac fah kaksakinyuk elos su tia wi akukuin.
3It is an honour for a man to keep aloof from strife; but every fool will be snarling.
4Sie mwet ima su alsrangesr in plao in pacl fal la, fah tia kosrani fahko.
4The sluggard will not plow when winter setteth in; therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5Nunak ma oan insien sie mwet, oana kof in sie luf loal; a mwet oasr etauk yoro ku in aketeya in kalem.
5Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6Pus na mwet fahk pwaye ac oaru la, tusruktu su selos ku in akpwayeye?
6Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness; but a faithful man who can find?
7Insewowo tulik su papa tumalos oru ma pwaye ac suwohs.
7He that walketh in his integrity as a just man, happy are his children after him.
8Sie tokosra su muta ke nien nununku, el ac ku in akilen ma koluk ke el liye.
8A king that sitteth on the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9Ya oasr sie mwet ku in fahk na pwaye lah nasnas insial ac wanginla ma koluk lal?
9Who can say: 'I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin'?
10LEUM GOD El srunga mwe paun kikiap ac mwe srikasrak sesuwos.
10Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.
11Finne tulik srisrik se, ac kalem ouiyal ke ma el oru; kom ku in akilen lah el suwohs ac wo.
11Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
12LEUM GOD El ase mutasr tuh kut in liye, ac sracsr tuh kut in lohng.
12The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
13Kom fin sisla pacl lom in motul, kom ac sukasrup. Oru kom in kafofo, na ac fah oasr sunun mwe mongo nom.
13Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt have bread in plenty.
14Mwet moul ke iwen kuka uh torkaskas pacl nukewa mu yokla molin mwe kuka uh, a ke el som el konkin mu srik molin ma el moli uh.
14'It is bad, it is bad', saith the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15Kas lalmwetmet uh yohk sripa liki gold ac mwe yun saok.
15There is gold, and a multitude of rubies; but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
16Sie mwet su wulela in fosrngakin soemoul lun sie mwetsac el lalfon, na fal elan sang nuknuk lal sifacna in mwe akpwaye nu ke soemoul el wuleang kac.
16Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; and hold him in pledge that is surety for an alien woman.
17Ma kom eisla ke inkanek sesuwos ac ku in mwe engan nu sum oana sie mwe mongo na yuyu, tuh ac tia paht toko na ac oana sie oalu sessesla ke fikar.
17Bread of falsehood is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18Suk kas in kasru wo, na ma kom oru ac fah fahla wo. Nimet sroang nu ke mweun fin soenna oasr pwapa.
18Every purpose is established by counsel; and with good advice carry on war.
19Sie mwet lesrik tia ku in okanla ma lukma. Nimet fototo nu yurin mwet oalinkas.
19He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets; therefore meddle not with him that openeth wide his lips.
20Kom fin selngawi papa tomom ku nina kiom, moul lom ac fah oana sie lam kunla in lohsr uh.
20Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in the blackest darkness.
21Fin fisrasr eisyen mwe kasrup lom an, ac fah srik woiya nu sum.
21An estate may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
22Nimet sifacna foloksak ke ma koluk. Tupan ac lulalfongi in LEUM GOD , ac El fah aksuwosyela.
22Say not thou: 'I will requite evil'; wait for the LORD, and He will save thee.
23LEUM GOD El tia lungse mwe paun ac mwe srikasrak sesuwos.
23Divers weights are an abomination to the LORD; and a false balance is not good.
24LEUM GOD El oakiya tari inkanek lasr uh, na sie mwet el ac etu fuka inkanek lun moul lal sifacna?
24A man's goings are of the LORD; how then can man look to his way?
25Nunkala akwoya meet liki kom wulela in oru sie mwe kisa nu sin God. Sahp kom ac auli kac tok.
25It is a snare to a man rashly to say: 'Holy', and after vows to make inquiry.
26Sie tokosra lalmwetmet el ac konauk lah su orala ma koluk uh, na el fah sang kai nu sel ke wangin pakomuta.
26A wise king sifteth the wicked, and turneth the wheel over them.
27LEUM GOD El ase ngunasr, su oana sie kalem saromrom ma tolak nunak lukma nukewa lasr.
27The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all the inward parts.
28Sie tokosra fah mutana in wal lal ke lusenna pacl el oru ma pwaye, suwohs, ac fal.
28Mercy and truth preserve the king; and his throne is upheld by mercy.
29Wolana lun mwet fusr pa ku in mano lalos, ac oasku lun mwet matu pa aunsuf fiaya lalos.
29The glory of young men is their strength; and the beauty of old men is the hoary head.
30Kutu pacl uh kaiyuk upa ku in ekulla ouiyen moul koluk lasr uh.
30Sharp wounds cleanse away evil; so do stripes that reach the inward parts.
