1The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
1Сини Юдині: Фарес, Есрон, Хармій, Хул та Шовал.
2And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath; and Jahath begot Ahumai, and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.
2Від Реаїї, Шовалового сина, народився Яхат; від Яхата народився Ахум та Лагад: від них поколїння Зорян.
3And these were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazlelponi;
3А це сини Етанові: Езреель, Ешма та Ідбаш, та сестра їх, на ймя Газлелпоні,
4and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur the first-born of Ephrath, the father of Beth-lehem.
4Пенуел, батько Гедорів, та Езер, батько Хушів. Оце сини в Гура, найстаршого в Ефратї, Бетлеємського батька (князя).
5And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
5В Ахшура, Текоїного батька, було дві жінки: Хела та Наара.
6And Naarah bore him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and Timeni, and Ahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.
6І породила Наара йому Ахузама, Хефера, Тимні та Ахашоарі: це сини від Наари.
7And the sons of Helah were Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.
7Сини Хелині: Зерет, Зохар та Етнан.
8And Koz begot Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
8Від Коза народились: Анув та Зовев і поколїння від Ахархела, Гарумового сина.
9And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying: 'Because I bore him with pain.'
9Явис був значнїйший за своїх братів. Мати дала йому ймення Явиса, кажучи: Я породила його в муках.
10And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying: 'Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that Thy hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest work deliverance from evil, that it may not pain me!' And God granted him that which he requested.
10І покликався Явис до Бога Ізрайлевого і промовив: Ой коли б ти благословив мене твоїм благословеннєм, роспросторив мої межі, й рука твоя була надо мною, обороняючи мене від напасти, щоб я не бідував! І Бог послав, чого він просив.
11And Chelub the brother of Shuhah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
11А від Хелува, Шухиного брата, народився Махір; він батько Ештонів.
12And Eshton begot Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These are the men of Recah.
12Від Ештона народився Бет-Рафа, Пасеах та Техін, батько міста Нааса (брат Селома Кенезіїного та Ахазового); це осадники Рехі.
13And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah; and the sons of Othniel: Hathath.
13Сини Кеназові: Готониїл та Сераїя. Готониїлів син: Хатат.
14And Meonothai begot Ophrah; and Seraiah begot Joab the father of Ge-harashim; for they were craftsmen.
14Від Меонотая народився Офра, а від Серая народився Йоаб, родоначальник Долини ремесників, бо вони були ремесники.
15And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah: Kenaz.
15Сини в Халеба, Ефонїїного сина: Ір, Іл та Наам. Син Ілин: Кеназ.
16And the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
16Сини Егаллелелові: Зиф, Зифа, Тирія та Асареел.
17And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon. And she bore Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa —
17Сини Езрині: Етер, Меред, Ефер та Ялон; а від Етера народився Мером, Шаммай та Ішбах, батько Ештемоїн.
18and his wife Hajehudijah bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah — and these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh whom Mered took.
18А жінка його Юдія народила Ереда, батька Гедорового, і Хевера, Сохового батька, і Екутиїла, Занаохового батька. Це сини Битії, Фараонової дочки, котру взяв Меред.
19And the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
19Сини його жінки Годїї, сестри Нахамової, батька Кеїлового: Гармі та Ештемоа, з Махати.
20And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.
20Сини Симеонові: Амнон, Ринна, Бенханан та Тилон. Сини в Ішія: Зохев та Бензохет.
21The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, and Ladah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
21Сини в Силома, Юдиного сина: Ір, батько (князь) Лехи, та Лаеда, отець Мареші, та родини вироблявших виссон в дому Ашбеах,
22and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had dominion in Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And the records are ancient.
22Та Йоаким, і осадники Хозеви, та Йоаш і Сараф, що мали державу в Моабі, та Яшувилехем, але це давні подїї.
23These were the potters, and those that dwelt among plantations and hedges; there they dwelt occupied in the king's work.
23Вони були гончарі й жили при садках та по огородах; в царя на роботї в його жили вони там.
24The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamim, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;
24Сини Симеонові: Немуїл, Ямин, Ярив, Зерах та Саул.
25Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
25Шаллум, його син; його син Мивсам; його син Мишма.
26And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
26Сини Мишмині: Хаммуїл, його син; сього син Закур; його син Шимей.
27And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply, like to the children of Judah.
27В Шимея було шіснайцять синів та шість дочок; а в його братів було небагато синів, і усе поколїннє їх було не таке велике, як поколїннє Юдиних синів.
28And they dwelt at Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-shual;
28Вони жили в Бирсабії, Моладї, Хазаршуалї,
29and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad;
29В Билзї, в Еземі, в Толадї,
30and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag;
30В Бетуїлї, в Хормі, в Зиклазї,
31and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.
31В Бет-Маркавотї, в Хазарсусимі, в Бет-Біреї та в Шааримі. Оце міста їх до Давидового царювання,
32And their villages were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;
32З їх селами: Етам, Аїн, Риммон, Токен та Ашан, — пять міст.
33and all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto Baal. These were their habitations, and they have their genealogy.
33І всї селища їх, що були навкруги коло цїх міст до Баала; оце місця їх проживання та їх родоводи.
34And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah;
34Мешовав, Ямлех та Йосія, Амассіїн син,
35and Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel;
35Йоїл та Егу, син Йошиви, сина Сераії, Асиїлового сина,
36and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshoaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah;
36Елїоєнай, Якова, Ішохая, Асаїя, Адиїл, Ішимиїл та Банея,
37and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah;
37Та Зиза, син Шифія, син Аллона, сина Едаїї, сина Шимрія, сина Шемаїї.
38these mentioned by name were princes in their families; and their fathers' houses increased greatly.
38Цї списані по йменнях були князями над своїми родами, а дім їх батьків розпався на багато паростків.
39And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even unto the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
39Вони доходили до Герари і до східнього боку долини, щоб знайти випаси для своїх черед;
40And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they that dwelt there aforetime were of Ham.
40І знайшли пасовища вроджайні та добрі й землю широку, спокійну та безпечну, бо до їх приходу жило там тільки трохи Хомитян.
41And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim that were found there, and destroyed them utterly, unto this day, and dwelt in their stead; because there was pasture there for their flocks.
41І прийшли цї, записані по іменнях, за часів Езекії, царя Юдейського, й повбивали й кочових і осїлих, що там знаходились, і вигубили їх навіки, й оселились на їх місці, бо там були пасовища для їх черед.
42And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
42А з поміж їх, із синів Симеонових, пішло ʼд горі Сеїр пятьсот чоловіка, а Фелатія, Неарія, Рефаїя, та Узіїл, Ішіїні сини, були на чолї в їх;
43And they smote the remnant of the Amalekites that escaped, and dwelt there unto this day.
43І повбивали оцїлївший там останок Амаликіїв, та й живуть там до сього часу.
