1城壁が建て上げられ、私が扉を取り付けると、門衛、歌うたい、レビ人がそれぞれ任命された。
1Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
2私は兄弟ハナニと、要塞の長官ハナニヤに、エルサレムの管理を任せた。ハナニヤは忠実な人で、人一倍神を恐れていたからである。
2That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.
3私は彼らに言った。「日が高くなるまでは、エルサレムの門を開けてはならない。門衛が持ち場にいるうちに扉を閉じ、かんぬきを掛けよ。また、エルサレムの住民から見張りを任命し、それぞれを持ち場に就かせ、自分の家の近くを守らせよ。」
3And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house.
4町は広く大きかったが、その中に住む民は少なく、家々もまだ建てられていなかった。
4Now the city was large and great: but the people were few therein, and the houses were not builded.
5私の神は、貴族、役人、民を集め、系図に登録することを私の心に示された。私は最初に上って来た者たちの系図の書を見つけ、そこに次のように記されているのを見た。
5¶ And my God put into mine heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them which came up at the first, and found written therein,
6州の人々のうち、バビロンの王ネブカドネザルによって捕らえ移され、その後そこから上って来て、エルサレムとユダのそれぞれ自分の町へ帰った者たちは次のとおりである。
6These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city;
7彼らはゼルバベル、エシュア、ネヘミヤ、アザルヤ、ラアミヤ、ナハマニ、モルデカイ、ビルシャン、ミスペレテ、ビグワイ、ネフム、バアナとともに来た。 イスラエルの民の男たちの数：
7Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, I say , of the men of the people of Israel was this;
8パロシュの子ら、二千百七十二人。
8The children of Parosh, two thousand an hundred seventy and two.
9シェファテヤの子ら、三百七十二人。
9The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.
10アラの子ら、六百五十二人。
10The children of Arah, six hundred fifty and two.
11パハテ・モアブの子ら、すなわちエシュアとヨアブの子ら、二千八百十八人。
11The children of Pahath-moab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred and eighteen.
12エラムの子ら、千二百五十四人。
12The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.
13ザトの子ら、八百四十五人。
13The children of Zattu, eight hundred forty and five.
14ザッカイの子ら、七百六十人。
14The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.
15ビヌイの子ら、六百四十八人。
15The children of Binnui, six hundred forty and eight.
16ベバイの子ら、六百二十八人。
16The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and eight.
17アズガドの子ら、二千三百二十二人。
17The children of Azgad, two thousand three hundred twenty and two.
18アドニカムの子ら、六百六十七人。
18The children of Adonikam, six hundred threescore and seven.

21アテルの子ら、すなわちヒゼキヤの家系、九十八人。
21The children of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.
22ハシュムの子ら、三百二十八人。
22The children of Hashum, three hundred twenty and eight.
23ベザイの子ら、三百二十四人。
23The children of Bezai, three hundred twenty and four.
24ハリフの子ら、百十二人。
24The children of Hariph, an hundred and twelve.
25ギベオンの人々、九十五人。
25The children of Gibeon, ninety and five.
26ベツレヘムとネトファの人々、百八十八人。
26The men of Beth-lehem and Netophah, an hundred fourscore and eight.
27アナトテの人々、百二十八人。
27The men of Anathoth, an hundred twenty and eight.
28ベテ・アズマベテの人々、四十二人。
28The men of Beth-azmaveth, forty and two.
29キルヤテ・エアリム、ケフィラ、ベエロテの人々、七百四十三人。
29The men of Kirjath-jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred forty and three.
30ラマとゲバの人々、六百二十一人。
30The men of Ramah and Geba, six hundred twenty and one.
31ミクマスの人々、百二十二人。
31The men of Michmas, an hundred and twenty and two.
32ベテルとアイの人々、百二十三人。
32The men of Beth-el and Ai, an hundred twenty and three.
33もう一つのネボの人々、五十二人。
33The men of the other Nebo, fifty and two.
34もう一つのエラムの子ら、千二百五十四人。

39¶ The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three.
40イムルの子ら、千五十二人。
40The children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two.
41パシュフルの子ら、千二百四十七人。
41The children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred forty and seven.
42ハリムの子ら、千十七人。
42The children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen.
43レビ人：ホデワの家系である、エシュアとカドミエルの子ら、七十四人。
43¶ The Levites: the children of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, and of the children of Hodevah, seventy and four.
44歌うたいたち：アサフの子ら、百四十八人。
44¶ The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred forty and eight.
45門衛：シャルムの子ら、アテルの子ら、タルモンの子ら、アクブの子ら、ハティタの子ら、ショバイの子ら、百三十八人。
45¶ The porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, an hundred thirty and eight.

46¶ The Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hashupha, the children of Tabbaoth,
47ケロスの子ら、シアの子ら、パドンの子ら、
47The children of Keros, the children of Sia, the children of Padon,
48レバナの子ら、ハガバの子ら、サルマイの子ら、
48The children of Lebana, the children of Hagaba, the children of Shalmai,
49ハナンの子ら、ギデルの子ら、ガハルの子ら、
49The children of Hanan, the children of Giddel, the children of Gahar,
50レアヤの子ら、レツィンの子ら、ネコダの子ら、
50The children of Reaiah, the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda,
51ガザムの子ら、ウザの子ら、パセアの子ら、
51The children of Gazzam, the children of Uzza, the children of Phaseah,

52The children of Besai, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephishesim,

56The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.
57ソロモンのしもべたちの子ら：ソタイの子ら、ソフェレテの子ら、ペリダの子ら、
57¶ The children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida,
58ヤアラの子ら、ダルコンの子ら、ギデルの子ら、
58The children of Jaala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,
59シェファテヤの子ら、ハティルの子ら、ポケレテ・ハツェバイムの子ら、アモンの子ら。
59The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Amon.
60宮のしもべたちとソロモンのしもべたちの子らは、合わせて三百九十二人であった。
60All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
61テル・メラ、テル・ハルシャ、ケルブ、アドン、イムルから上って来た者たちは次のとおりである。しかし彼らは、自分たちの父の家と血筋 がイスラエルに属することを示せなかった。
61And these were they which went up also from Tel-melah, Tel-haresha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer: but they could not shew their father’s house, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.
62デラヤの子ら、トビヤの子ら、ネコダの子ら、六百四十二人。
62The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.
63祭司のうちでは、ホバヤの子ら、ハコツの子ら、バルジライの子ら。このバルジライは、ギルアデ人バルジライの娘の一人を妻に迎え、その家の名で呼ばれるようになった。
63¶ And of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai, which took one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.
64これらの者は系図の記録を探したが、見つからなかった。そのため資格がないとされ、祭司の務めから退けられた。
64These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.
65総督は彼らに、ウリムとトンミムを用いて仕える祭司が立つまで、最も聖なるものを食べてはならないと告げた。
65And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.
66会衆は皆合わせて四万二千三百六十人であった。
66¶ The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,
67このほかに、男女の奴隷が七千三百三十七人おり、歌う男と女が二百四十五人いた。
67Beside their manservants and their maidservants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and they had two hundred forty and five singing men and singing women.
68馬は七百三十六頭、騾馬は二百四十五頭、
68Their horses, seven hundred thirty and six: their mules, two hundred forty and five:
69らくだは四百三十五頭、ろばは六千七百二十頭であった。
69Their camels, four hundred thirty and five: six thousand seven hundred and twenty asses.
70父の家の長たちのうち、工事のためにささげる者がいた。総督は宝物倉に、金一千ダリク 、鉢五十個、祭司の衣服五百三十着をささげた。
70¶ And some of the chief of the fathers gave unto the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold, fifty basons, five hundred and thirty priests’ garments.
71父の家の長たちのうち、工事の宝物倉に金二万ダリクと、銀二千二百ミナ をささげる者たちがいた。
71And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the treasure of the work twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pound of silver.
72残りの民がささげたものは、金二万ダリク、銀二千ミナ、祭司の衣服六十七着であった。
72And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pound of silver, and threescore and seven priests’ garments.
73こうして、祭司、レビ人、門衛、歌うたい、民の一部、宮のしもべたち、および全イスラエルは、それぞれ自分の町に住んだ。 第七の月になると、イスラエルの子らは自分たちの町々にいた。
73So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.
