1And the angel that spoke in me came again: and he waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.
1І вернувся той ангел, що розмовляв ізо мною, і розбудив мене, наче будять кого сонного.
2And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, and its lamp upon the top of it: and the seven lights thereof upon it: and seven funnels for the lights that were upon the top thereof.
2І спитав мене: Що бачиш? Я відказав: Бачу сьвітильника, — ввесь із золота; зверху в його кубочки на оливу й сїм лямп на йому, а також сїм дудочок до наливання в лямпи, що на йому.
3And two olive trees over it: one upon the right side of the lamp, and the other upon the left side thereof.
3А коло його дві оливинї, одна праворуч од кубочка, а друга ліворуч.
4And I answered, and said to the angel that spoke in me, saying: What are these things, my lord?
4І запитавсь я та й кажу ангелові, що розмовляв ізо мною: Проти чого воно, добродїю?
5And the angel that spoke in me answered, and said to me: Knowest thou not what these things are? And I said: No, my lord.
5І відказав ангел, що розмовляв ізо мною, й промовив: Хиба ти не знаєш, що воно? А я відповів: Нї, добродію, не знаю.
6And he answered, and spoke to me, saying: This is the word of the Lord to Zorobabel, saying: Not with an army, nor by might, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
6Тодї озвався він і сказав менї: Се, — Господнє слово до Зоробабеля, і значить: Нї військом, нї силою вашою, тілько моїм духом, говорить Господь сил небесних.
7Who art thou, O great mountain, before Zorobabel? thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring out the chief stone, and shall give equal grace to the grace thereof.
7Хто ж ти, велика горо, перед Зоробабелем? Ти — низина, а він положить угловового каменя при веселих викликаннях: Ласка, ласка на ньому!
8And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
8І надійшло слово Господнє до мене:
9The hands of Zorobabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands shall finish it: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to you.
9Як руки Зоробабелеві заложили, основи під сей дом, так його руки й скінчать його, й зрозумієте, що Господь сил небесних послав мене до вас:
10For who hath despised little days? and they shall rejoice, and shall see the tin plummet in the hand of Zorobabel. These are the seven eyes of the Lord, that run to and fro through the whole earth.
10Хто ж би маловажив день сей, коли, радїючи, тоті семеро дивляться на будівельну вагу в руках у Зоробабеля? — се очі Господнї, що обіймають зором увесь круг земний.
11And I answered, and said to him: What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick, and upon the left side thereof?
11Тодї озвався я й промовив до його: Проти чого ж сї дві оливини, праворуч і лїворуч сьвітильника?
12And I answered again, and said to him: What are the two olive branches, that are by the two golden beaks, in which are the funnels of gold?
12І озвавсь я вдруге й промовив до його: Проти чого сї дві галузки оливні, що золотими дудочками виливають із себе золоту оливу?
13And he spoke to me, saying: Knowest thou not what these are? And I said: No, my lord.
13І відказав менї: Хиба ти не знаєш, що се? Я ж відповів: Нї, добродїю, не знаю.
14And he said: These are two sons of oil who stand before the Lord of the whole earth.
14А він сказав: Се два помазані оливою, що стоять перед Владикою всієї землї.
