1耶穌被聖靈充滿，從 約旦河 回來，聖靈將他引到曠野，
1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the desert,
2四十天受魔鬼的試探。那些日子沒有吃甚麼；日子滿了，他就餓了。
2For the space of forty days; and was tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry.
3魔鬼對他說：「你若是上帝的兒子，可以吩咐這塊石頭變成食物。」
3And the devil said to him: If thou be the Son of God, say to this stone that it be made bread.
4耶穌回答說：「 經上 記着說：『人活着不是單靠食物， 乃是靠上帝口裏所出的一切話 。』」
4And Jesus answered him: It is written, that Man liveth not by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5魔鬼又領他上了 高山 ，霎時間把天下的萬國都指給他看，
5And the devil led him into a high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time;
6對他說：「這一切權柄、榮華，我都要給你，因為這原是交付我的，我願意給誰就給誰。
6And he said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them.
7你若在我面前下拜，這都要歸你。」
7If thou therefore wilt adore before me, all shall be thine.
8耶穌說：「 經上 記着說： 當拜主－你的上帝， 單要事奉他。」
8And Jesus answering said to him: It is written: Thou shalt adore the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9魔鬼又領他到 耶路撒冷 去，叫他站在殿頂上，對他說：「你若是上帝的兒子，可以從這裏跳下去；
9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and he said to him: If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself from hence.
10因為 經上 記着說： 主要為你吩咐他的使者保護你；
10For it is written, that He hath given his angels charge over thee, that they keep thee.
11他們要用手托着你， 免得你的腳碰在石頭上。」
11And that in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest perhaps thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12耶穌對他說：「 經上 說：『不可試探主－你的上帝。』」
12And Jesus answering, said to him: It is said: Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13魔鬼用完了各樣的試探，就暫時離開耶穌。
13And all the temptation being ended, the devil departed from him for a time.
14耶穌滿有聖靈的能力，回到 加利利 ；他的名聲就傳遍了四方。
14And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit, into Galilee, and the fame of him went out through the whole country.
15他在各會堂裏教訓人，眾人都稱讚他。
15And he taught in their synagogues, and was magnified by all.
16耶穌來到 拿撒勒 ，就是他長大的地方。在安息日，照他平常的規矩進了會堂，站起來要念 聖經 。
16And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up: and he went into the synagogue, according to his custom, on the sabbath day; and he rose up to read.
17有人把先知 以賽亞 的書交給他，他就打開，找到一處寫着說：
17And the book of Isaias the prophet was delivered unto him. And as he unfolded the book, he found the place where it was written:
18主的靈在我身上， 因為他用膏膏我， 叫我傳福音給貧窮的人； 差遣我報告： 被擄的得釋放， 瞎眼的得看見， 叫那受壓制的得自由，
18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Wherefore he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the contrite of heart,
19報告上帝悅納人的禧年。
19To preach deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of reward.
20於是把書捲起來，交還執事，就坐下。會堂裏的人都定睛看他。
20And when he had folded the book, he restored it to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.
21耶穌對他們說：「今天這經應驗在你們耳中了。」
21And he began to say to them: This day is fulfilled this scripture in your ears.
22眾人都稱讚他，並希奇他口中所出的恩言；又說：「這不是 約瑟 的兒子嗎？」
22And all gave testimony to him: and they wondered at the words of grace that proceeded from his mouth, and they said: Is not this the son of Joseph?
23耶穌對他們說：「你們必引這俗語向我說：『醫生，你醫治自己吧！我們聽見你在 迦百農 所行的事，也當行在你自己家鄉裏』」；
23And he said to them: Doubtless you will say to me this similitude: Physician, heal thyself: as great things as we have heard done in Capharnaum, do also here in thy own country.
24又說：「我實在告訴你們，沒有先知在自己家鄉被人悅納的。
24And he said: Amen I say to you, that no prophet is accepted in his own country.
25我對你們說實話，當 以利亞 的時候，天閉塞了三年零六個月，遍地有大饑荒，那時， 以色列 中有許多寡婦，
25In truth I say to you, there were many widows in the days of Elias in Israel, when heaven was shut up three years and six months, when there was a great famine throughout all the earth.
26以利亞 並沒有奉差往她們一個人那裏去，只奉差往 西頓 的 撒勒法 一個寡婦那裏去。
26And to none of them was Elias sent, but to Sarepta of Sidon, to a widow woman.
27先知 以利沙 的時候， 以色列 中有許多長大痲瘋的，但內中除了 敘利亞 國的 乃縵 ，沒有一個得潔淨的。」
27And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet: and none of them was cleansed but Naaman the Syrian.
28會堂裏的人聽見這話，都怒氣滿胸，
28And all they in the synagogue, hearing these things, were filled with anger.
29就起來攆他出城（他們的城造在山上）；他們帶他到山崖，要把他推下去。
29And they rose up and thrust him out of the city; and they brought him to the brow of the hill, whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
30他卻從他們中間直行，過去了。
30But he passing through the midst of them, went his way.
31耶穌下到 迦百農 ，就是 加利利 的一座城，在安息日教訓眾人。
31And he went down into Capharnaum, a city of Galilee, and there he taught them on the sabbath days.
32他們很希奇他的教訓，因為他的話裏有權柄。
32And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his speech was with power.
33在會堂裏有一個人，被污鬼的精氣附着，大聲喊叫說：
33And in the synagogue there was a man who had an unclean devil, and he cried out with a loud voice,
34「唉！ 拿撒勒 的耶穌，我們與你有甚麼相干？你來滅我們嗎？我知道你是誰，乃是上帝的聖者。」
34Saying: Let us alone, what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the holy one of God.
35耶穌責備他說：「不要作聲，從這人身上出來吧！」鬼把那人摔倒在眾人中間，就出來了，卻也沒有害他。
35And Jesus rebuked him, saying: Hold thy peace, and go out of him. And when the devil had thrown him into the midst, he went out of him, and hurt him not at all.
36眾人都驚訝，彼此對問說：「這是甚麼道理呢？因為他用權柄能力吩咐污鬼，污鬼就出來。」
36And there came fear upon all, and they talked among themselves, saying: What word is this, for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they go out?
37於是耶穌的名聲傳遍了周圍地方。
37And the fame of him was published into every place of the country.
38耶穌出了會堂，進了 西門 的家。 西門 的岳母害熱病甚重，有人為她求耶穌。
38And Jesus rising up out of the synagogue, went into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever, and they besought him for her.
39耶穌站在她旁邊，斥責那熱病，熱就退了。她立刻起來服事他們。
39And standing over her, he commanded the fever, and it left her. And immediately rising, she ministered to them.
40日落的時候，凡有病人的，不論害甚麼病，都帶到耶穌那裏。耶穌按手在他們各人身上，醫好他們。
40And when the sun was down, all they that had any sick with divers diseases, brought them to him. But he laying his hands on every one of them, healed them.
41又有鬼從好些人身上出來，喊着說：「你是上帝的兒子。」耶穌斥責他們，不許他們說話，因為他們知道他是基督。
41And devils went out from many, crying out and saying: Thou art the Son of God. And rebuking them he suffered them not to speak, for they knew that he was Christ.
42天亮的時候，耶穌出來，走到曠野地方。眾人去找他，到了他那裏，要留住他，不要他離開他們。
42And when it was day, going out he went into a desert place, and the multitudes sought him, and came unto him: and they stayed him that he should not depart from them.
43但耶穌對他們說：「我也必須在別城傳上帝國的福音，因我奉差原是為此。」
43To whom he said: To other cities also I must preach the kingdom of God: for therefore am I sent.
44於是耶穌在 加利利 的各會堂傳道。
44And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
