1约伯 回答说：
1Then Job answered, and said:
2这样的话我听了许多； 你们安慰人，反叫人愁烦。
2I have often heard such things as these: you are all troublesome comforters.
3虚空的言语有穷尽吗？ 有什么话惹动你回答呢？
3Shall windy words have no end? or is it any trouble to thee to speak?
4我也能说你们那样的话； 你们若处在我的境遇， 我也会联络言语攻击你们， 又能向你们摇头。
4I also could speak like you: and would God your soul were for my soul.
5但我必用口坚固你们， 用嘴消解 你们的忧愁 。
5I would comfort you also with words, and would wag my head over you.
6我虽说话，忧愁仍不得消解； 我虽停住不说，忧愁就离开我吗？
6I would strengthen you with my mouth, and would move my lips, as sparing you.
7但现在 神使我困倦， 使亲友远离我，
7But what shall I do? If I speak, my pain will not rest: and if I hold my peace, it will not depart from me.
8又抓住我，作见证 攻击我 ； 我身体的枯瘦也当面见证我的不是。
8But now my sorrow hath oppressed me, and all my limbs are brought to nothing.
9主发怒撕裂我，逼迫我， 向我切齿； 我的敌人怒目看我。
9My wrinkles bear witness against me, and a false speaker riseth up against my face, contradicting me.
10他们向我开口， 打我的脸羞辱我， 聚会攻击我。
10He hath gathered together his fury against me, and threatening me he hath gnashed with his teeth upon me: my enemy hath beheld me with terrible eyes.
11神把我交给不敬虔的人， 把我扔到恶人的手中。
11They have opened their mouths upon me, and reproaching me they have struck me on the cheek, they are filled with my pains.
12我素来安逸，他折断我， 掐住我的颈项，把我摔碎， 又立我为他的箭靶子。
12God hath shut me up with the unjust man, and hath delivered me into the hands of the wicked.
13他的弓箭手四面围绕我； 他破裂我的肺腑，并不留情， 把我的胆倾倒在地上，
13I that was formerly so wealthy, am all on a sudden broken to pieces: he hath taken me by my neck, he hath broken me, and hath set me up to be his mark.
14将我破裂又破裂， 如同勇士向我直闯。
14He hath compassed me round about with his lances, he hath wounded my loins, he hath not spared, and hath poured out my bowels on the earth.
15我缝麻布在我皮肤上， 把我的角放在尘土中。
15He hath torn me with wound upon wound, he hath rushed in upon me like a giant.
16我的脸因哭泣发紫， 在我的眼皮上有死荫。
16I have sowed sackcloth upon my skin, and have covered my flesh with ashes.
17我的手中却无强暴； 我的祈祷也是清洁。
17My face is swollen with weeping, and my eyelids are dim.
18地啊，不要遮盖我的血！ 不要 阻挡 我的哀求！
18These things have I suffered without the iniquity of my hand, when I offered pure prayers to God.
19现今，在天有我的见证， 在上有我的中保。
19O earth, cover not thou my blood, neither let my cry find a hiding place in thee.
20我的朋友讥诮我， 我却向 神眼泪汪汪。
20For behold my witness is in heaven, and he that knoweth my conscience is on high.
21愿人得与 神辩白， 如同人与朋友辩白一样；
21My friends are full of words: my eye poureth out tears to God.
22因为再过几年， 我必走那往而不返之路。
22And O that a man might so be judged with God, as the son of man is judged with his companion!
