1泰尔 王 希兰 将香柏木运到 大卫 那里，又差遣使者和石匠、木匠给 大卫 建造宫殿。
1And Huram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.
2大卫 就知道耶和华坚立他作 以色列 王，又为自己的民 以色列 ，使他的国兴旺。
2And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was exalted exceedingly, for His people Israel's sake.
3大卫 在 耶路撒冷 又立后妃，又生儿女。
3And David took more wives at Jerusalem; and David begot more sons and daughters.
4在 耶路撒冷 所生的众子是 沙母亚 、 朔罢 、 拿单 、 所罗门 、
4And these are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon;
5益辖 、 以利书亚 、 以法列 、
5and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet;
6挪迦 、 尼斐 、 雅非亚 、
6and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia;
7以利沙玛 、 比利雅大 、 以利法列 。
7and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8非利士 人听见 大卫 受膏作 以色列 众人的王， 非利士 众人就上来寻索 大卫 。 大卫 听见，就出去迎敌。
8And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went out to meet them.
9非利士 人来了，布散在 利乏音谷 。
9Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.
10大卫 求问 神，说：「我可以上去攻打 非利士 人吗？你将他们交在我手里吗？」耶和华说：「你可以上去，我必将他们交在你手里。」
10And David inquired of God, saying: 'Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt Thou deliver them into my hand?' And the LORD said unto him: 'Go up; for I will deliver them into thy hand.'
11非利士 人来到 巴力·毗拉心 ， 大卫 在那里杀败他们。 大卫 说：「 神借我的手冲破敌人，如同水冲去一般」；因此称那地方为 巴力·毗拉心 。
11So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and David said: 'God hath broken mine enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters.' Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
12非利士 人将神像撇在那里， 大卫 吩咐人用火焚烧了。
12And they left their gods there; and David gave commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13非利士 人又布散在 利乏音谷 。
13And the Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley.
14大卫 又求问 神。 神说：「不要一直地上去，要转到他们后头，从桑林对面攻打他们。
14And David inquired again of God; and God said unto him: 'Thou shalt not go up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry-trees.
15你听见桑树梢上有脚步的声音，就要出战，因为 神已经在你前头去攻打 非利士 人的军队。」
15And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle; for God is gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.'
16大卫 就遵着 神所吩咐的，攻打 非利士 人的军队，从 基遍 直到 基色 。
16And David did as God commanded him; and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
17于是 大卫 的名传扬到列国，耶和华使列国都惧怕他。
17And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
