Berean Standard Bible
1To pongah Kri kawng amtuk tangsuekhaih ah kaom kadueh toksakhaih thung hoi dawnpakhuemhaih kawng, Sithaw tanghaih kawng,
1Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith in God,
2tuinuemhaih kawng, bankoenghaih kawng, kadueh kami angthawk lethaih kawng, dungzan lokcaekhaih kawngnawk to caeh o tak si loe, akoep thai hanah hmabang ah caeh o si boeh.
2instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
3Sithaw mah araem tih nahaeloe, to hmuennawk to a sah o tih hmang.
3And this we will do, if God permits.
4Aanghaih mah vaito toeh boeh moe, van bang ih tangqum doeh pataengh tangcae, Kacai Muithla ah kaom tangcae,
4It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,
5kahoih Sithaw lok doeh pataengh tangcae, angzo han koi thacakhaihnawk doeh pataengh tangcae kaminawk loe,
5who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age—
6amtim o ving nahaeloe, nihcae dawnpakhuemsak let hanah angcoeng thai ai boeh; nihcae loe Sithaw Capa to thinglam pongah kangtha ah takhing o let moe, Anih to azat kathok ah a sak o.
6and then have fallen away—to be restored to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame.
7A nuiah kakrah khotui kanae long mah lawk tawnkung hanah aan kahingnawk to amprawksak moe, Sithaw khae hoi tahamhoihaih to hnuksak:
7For land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God.
8toe soekhring hoi phroh khue tacawtsak lawk loe pahnong sut tih, tangoenghaih atue phak tom boeh pongah, hnukkhuem ah to lawk to hmai hoiah thlaek tih.
8But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned.
9Toe palung ih ampuinawk, nangcae loe kahoih kue hmuennawk hoi pahlonghaih kaom hmuen bangah na oh o hanah kang koeh o haih pongah, hae tiah lok kang thuih o.
9Even though we speak like this, beloved, we are convinced of better things in your case—things that accompany salvation.
10Nangcae loe ciimcai kaminawk khetzawnhaih tok to na sak o, to bak tih amlunghaih toksakhaih rang hoiah Anih ih ahmin to nam tueng o sak, na sak o ih toknawk loe Sithaw mah pahnet ai.
10For God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.
11Oephaih hoiah akoep thai hanah boeng khoek to hae tiah tha na pathok o moe,
11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.
12thasae ai ah tanghaih hoi palungsawkhaih hoiah lokkamhaih qawktoep kaminawk ih hnukbang kami ah na oh o thai boih hanah kang koeh o haih.
12Then you will not be sluggish, but will imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
13Sithaw mah Abraham khaeah lokkamhaih sak naah, angmah pong kalen kue mi doeh om ai pongah, angmah hoi angmah lokkamhaih to sak.
13When God made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself,
14Nang to taham kang hoisak moe, kang pungsak han, tiah a naa.
14saying, “I will surely bless you and multiply your descendants.”
15Abraham mah palungsawkhaih hoiah zing pacoengah, lokkamhaih to a hnuk.
15And so Abraham, after waiting patiently, obtained the promise.
16Kaminawk loe angmah pong kalen kue hoiah ni lokkamhaih to sak o: to kacak lokmaihaih mah lok angaekhaihnawk boih to boengsak.
16Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and their oath serves as a confirmation to end all argument.
17Sithaw loe sak koeh ih hmuen nuiah poek amkhrai thai ai, tiah lokkam ih qawktoep han kaom kaminawk panoeksak hanah, Sithaw mah kacak lokkamhaih to sak:
17So when God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath.
18to hmuen hnetto loe amkhrai thai ai, aicae hma ah suek ih oephaih to patawnh moe, abuep han kacawn aicae mah kalen monghaih a tawnh o thai hanah, Sithaw loe lok amlai thai ai:
18Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged.
19to oephaih loe thacak moe, oepthoh, taai ha baktiah kaom sum baktih toengah aicae pakhra anghakhaih ah oh, oephaih loe payang ih kahni thung khoek to akunh;
19We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
20Melkhizedik baktih toengah, dungzan ah kalen qaima Jesu loe aicae hma ah caeh moe, aicae hanah a thungah akun boeh.
20where Jesus our forerunner has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.
