1But as for you, speak the things that are consistent with sound doctrine.
1А ти говори шта пристоји здравој науци:
2Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and perseverance.
2Старцима да буду трезни, поштени, чисти, здрави у вери, у љубави, у трпљењу;
3Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teachers of good.
3старицама, такође, да живе као што се пристоји светима, да не буду опадљиве, да се не предају врло вину, да уче добру,
4In this way they can train the young women to love their husbands and children,
4да уче младе да љубе мужеве, да љубе децу,
5to be self-controlled, pure, managers of their households, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be discredited.
5да буду поштене, чисте, добре домаћице, благе, покорне својим мужевима, да се не хули на реч Божију.
6In the same way, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.
6Тако и младиће саветуј да буду поштени.
7In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,

8and wholesome speech that is above reproach, so that anyone who opposes us will be ashamed to have nothing bad to say about us.
8реч здраву, незазорну: да се посрами онај који се противи, не имајући ништа зло говорити за нас.
9Slaves are to submit to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
9Слуге да слушају своје господаре, да буду угодни у свачему, да не одговарају,
10not stealing from them, but showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will adorn the teaching about God our Savior.
10да не краду, него у свачему да показују добру веру, да науку Спаситеља нашег Бога украшују у свачему.
11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to everyone.
11Јер се показа благодат Божја која спасава све људе,
12It instructs us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
12учећи нас да се одрекнемо безбожности и жеља овог света, и да поштено и праведно и побожно поживимо на овом свету,
13as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
13чекајући блажену наду и јављање славе великог Бога и Спаса нашег Исуса Христа,
14He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
14који је дао себе за нас да нас избави од сваког безакоња, и да очисти себи народ избрани који чезне за добрим делима.
15Speak these things as you encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
