1These are the words of Amos, who was among the sheepherders of Tekoa—what he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake, in the days when Uzziah was king of Judah and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel.
1Речи Амоса који беше између пастира из Текује, што виде за Израиља за времена Озије цара Јудиног и за времена Јеровоама сина Јоасовог цара Израиљевог, две године пре труса.
2He said: “The LORD roars from Zion and raises His voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the summit of Carmel withers.”
2Рече дакле: Господ ће рикнути са Сиона, и из Јерусалима ће пустити глас свој, и тужиће станови пастирски и посушиће се врх Кармилу.
3This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Damascus, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because they threshed Gilead with sledges of iron.
3Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Дамаск, нећу му опростити, јер врхоше Галад гвозденом браном.
4So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael to consume the citadels of Ben-hadad.
4Него ћу пустити огањ у дом Азаилов, те ће прождрети дворове Вен-Ададове.
5I will break down the gates of Damascus; I will cut off the ruler of the Valley of Aven and the one who wields the scepter in Beth-eden. The people of Aram will be exiled to Kir,” says the LORD.
5И поломићу преворнице Дамаску, и истребићу становнике из поља Авена, и оног који држи палицу из дома Еденовог, и отићи ће у ропство народ сирски у Кир, вели Господ.
6This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Gaza, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because they exiled a whole population, delivering them up to Edom.
6Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Газа, нећу јој опростити, јер их заробише сасвим и предадоше Едомцима.
7So I will send fire upon the walls of Gaza, to consume its citadels.
7Него ћу пустити огањ у зидове Гази, те ће јој прождрети дворове.
8I will cut off the ruler of Ashdod and the one who wields the scepter in Ashkelon. I will turn My hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord GOD.
8И истребићу становнике из Азота и оног који држи палицу из Аскалона, и окренућу руку своју на Акарон, и изгинуће остатак филистејски, вели Господ Господ.
9This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Tyre, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because they delivered up a whole congregation of exiles to Edom and broke a covenant of brotherhood.
9Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Тир, нећу му опростити, јер сасвим дадоше у ропство Едомцима и не сећаше се братске вере.
10So I will send fire upon the walls of Tyre to consume its citadels.”
10Него ћу пустити огањ у зидове Тиру, те ће прождрети дворове његове.
11This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Edom, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and stifled all compassion; his anger raged continually, and his fury flamed incessantly.
11Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Едом, нећу му опростити, јер гони брата свог мачем потрвши у себи све жаљење, и гнев његов раздире једнако, и срдњу своју држи увек.
12So I will send fire upon Teman to consume the citadels of Bozrah.”
12Него ћу пустити огањ у Теман, и прождреће дворе у Восори.
13This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of the Ammonites, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to enlarge their territory.
13Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учинише синови Амонови, нећу им опростити, јер параше трудне жене у Галаду да рашире међу своју.
14So I will kindle a fire in the walls of Rabbah to consume its citadels amid war cries on the day of battle and a violent wind on the day of tempest.
14Него ћу запалити огањ у зидовима Рави, те ће јој прождрети дворове с виком у дан боја и с буром у дан вихора.
15Their king will go into exile — he and his princes together,” says the LORD.
15И цар ће њихов отићи у ропство, он и кнезови његови с њим, вели Господ.
