1“ปุโรหิตทั้งหลาย บัดนี้คำสั่งนี้สำหรับพวกคุณ
1And now, this commandment is for you, O ye priests.
2ถ้าพวกคุณไม่ฟัง ไม่ใส่ใจที่จะให้เกียรตินามเรา” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว “เราจะส่งคำสาปมาถึงพวกคุณ และจะสาปพรของพวกคุณ เราสาปพรเหล่านั้นแล้ว เพราะพวกคุณไม่ใส่ใจ
2If ye will not hearken, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto My name, saith the LORD of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I curse them, because ye do not lay it to heart.
3เราจะตำหนิลูกหลานของพวกคุณ และจะป้ายมูลสัตว์บนหน้าพวกคุณ เป็นมูลสัตว์จากเทศกาลของพวกคุณ แล้วพวกคุณจะถูกนำออกไปพร้อมกับมัน
3Behold, I will rebuke the seed for your hurt, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your sacrifices; and ye shall be taken away unto it.
4พวกคุณจะรู้ว่าเราส่งคำสั่งนี้มา เพื่อให้พันธสัญญาของเราอยู่กับเลวี” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว
4Know then that I have sent this commandment unto you, that My covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
5“พันธสัญญาของเรากับเขาเป็นพันธสัญญาแห่งชีวิตและสันติสุข เราให้สิ่งเหล่านี้แก่เขาเพื่อให้เขายำเกรงเรา เขาก็ยำเกรงเราและเกรงขามนามของเรา
5My covenant was with him of life and peace, and I gave them to him, and of fear, and he feared Me, and was afraid of My name.
6ถ้อยคำจากปากของเขาเป็นบทบัญญัติแห่งความจริง ไม่มีคำพูดที่ไม่ชอบธรรมออกจากริมฝีปาก เขาดำเนินชีวิตกับเราอย่างสงบและซื่อตรง และทำให้คนมากมายหันจากความผิด
6The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and did turn many away from iniquity.
7เพราะริมฝีปากของปุโรหิตควรรักษาความรู้ไว้ และผู้คนควรแสวงหาบทบัญญัติจากปากของเขา เพราะเขาเป็นผู้ส่งสารของพระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพ
7For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
8แต่พวกคุณหันออกจากทาง ทำให้คนมากมายสะดุดในบทบัญญัติ พวกคุณทำให้พันธสัญญาของเลวีเสื่อมเสีย” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว
8But ye are turned aside out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
9“เราจึงทำให้พวกคุณเป็นที่ดูหมิ่นและเป็นคนชั่วร้ายในสายตาผู้คนทั้งปวง เพราะพวกคุณไม่ได้ดำเนินตามทางของเรา แต่กลับลำเอียงในการใช้บทบัญญัติ
9Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept My ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.
10พวกเราทุกคนไม่ได้มีพ่อคนเดียวกันหรือ? พระเจ้าองค์เดียวไม่ได้สร้างพวกเราหรือ? ทำไมแต่ละคนจึงทรยศต่อพี่น้องของตน ทำให้พันธสัญญาของบรรพบุรุษเสื่อมเสีย?
10Have we not all one father? Hath not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?
11ยูดาห์ทรยศแล้ว มีการทำสิ่งน่ารังเกียจในอิสราเอลและเยรูซาเล็ม เพราะยูดาห์ทำให้ความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของพระยาห์เวห์ที่เขารักเสื่อมเสีย และแต่งงานกับลูกสาวของเทพเจ้าต่างถิ่น
11Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which He loveth, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.
12พระยาห์เวห์จะกำจัดชายที่ทำเช่นนี้ ทั้งคนที่ตื่นและคนที่ขานตอบ ออกจากกระโจมของยาโคบ รวมถึงผู้ถวายเครื่องบูชาแด่พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพ”
12May the LORD cut off to the man that doeth this, him that calleth and him that answereth out of the tents of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.
13“พวกคุณยังทำอีกอย่าง คือทำให้แท่นบูชาของพระยาห์เวห์เต็มไปด้วยน้ำตา ด้วยการร้องไห้และถอนใจ เพราะพระองค์ไม่ใส่ใจเครื่องบูชาอีก และไม่รับจากมือพวกคุณด้วยความพอใจ
13And this further ye do: ye cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, insomuch that He regardeth not the offering any more, neither receiveth it with good will at your hand.
14แต่พวกคุณถามว่า ‘เพราะอะไร?’ ก็เพราะพระยาห์เวห์เป็นพยานระหว่างคุณกับภรรยาที่แต่งงานด้วยตั้งแต่วัยหนุ่ม คุณทรยศต่อเธอ ทั้งที่เธอเป็นคู่ชีวิตและเป็นภรรยาตามพันธสัญญาของคุณ
14Yet ye say: 'Wherefore?' Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously, though she is thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
15เขาไม่ได้ทำให้พวกคุณเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันหรือ ทั้งที่เขายังมีวิญญาณเหลืออยู่? ทำไมจึงเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกัน? เขาต้องการลูกหลานที่นับถือพระเจ้า ฉะนั้น จงเฝ้าระวังจิตใจของพวกคุณ และอย่าให้ใครทรยศต่อภรรยาที่แต่งงานด้วยตั้งแต่วัยหนุ่ม
15And not one hath done so who had exuberance of spirit! For what seeketh the one? a seed given of God. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
16คนที่เกลียดชังและหย่าร้างภรรยา” พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลกล่าว “ย่อมทำให้เสื้อผ้าของตนแปดเปื้อนด้วยความรุนแรง!” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว “ฉะนั้น จงเฝ้าระวังจิตใจของพวกคุณ อย่าทรยศ
16For I hate putting away, saith the LORD, the God of Israel, and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith the LORD of hosts; therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.
17คำพูดของพวกคุณทำให้พระยาห์เวห์เหนื่อยหน่าย แต่พวกคุณถามว่า ‘พวกเราทำให้พระองค์เหนื่อยหน่ายอย่างไร?’ ก็เพราะพวกคุณพูดว่า ‘ทุกคนที่ทำชั่วเป็นคนดีในสายตาพระยาห์เวห์ และพระองค์พอใจพวกเขา’ หรือ ‘พระเจ้าแห่งความยุติธรรมอยู่ที่ไหน?’”
17Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say: 'Wherein have we wearied Him?' In that ye say: 'Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delighteth in them; or where is the God of justice?'
