1(2-5) And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
1ข้าพเจ้าเงยหน้ามอง เห็นชายคนหนึ่งถือเชือกวัดอยู่ในมือ
2(2-6) Then said I: 'Whither goest thou?' And he said unto me: 'To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.'
2จึงถามว่า “คุณจะไปไหน?” เขาตอบว่า “ไปวัดเยรูซาเล็ม ดูว่าเมืองกว้างเท่าไร ยาวเท่าไร”
3(2-7) And, behold, the angel that spoke with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
3ขณะนั้นทูตสวรรค์ที่พูดกับข้าพเจ้าออกไป และทูตสวรรค์อีกองค์หนึ่งออกมาพบเขา
4(2-8) and said unto him: 'Run, speak to this young man, saying: 'Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein.
4แล้วบอกเขาว่า “จงวิ่งไปบอกชายหนุ่มคนนี้ว่า ‘เยรูซาเล็มจะมีผู้คนอาศัยอยู่เหมือนหมู่บ้านที่ไม่มีกำแพง เพราะมีผู้คนและสัตว์เลี้ยงมากมายอยู่ในเมือง
5(2-9) For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.
5เพราะเราจะเป็นกำแพงไฟล้อมเธอ’ พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว ‘และเราจะเป็นสง่าราศีอยู่กลางเมือง
6(2-10) Ho, ho, flee then from the land of the north, saith the LORD; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.
6ออกมาเถิด! ออกมาเถิด! จงหนีจากแผ่นดินทางเหนือ’ พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว ‘เพราะเราได้กระจายพวกคุณออกไปดั่งลมทั้งสี่ทิศของท้องฟ้า’ พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
7(2-11) Ho, Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.'
7‘มาเถิด ศิโยน! เธอที่อาศัยอยู่กับธิดาบาบิโลน จงหนีออกมา’
8(2-12) For thus saith the LORD of hosts who sent me after glory unto the nations which spoiled you: 'Surely, he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
8เพราะพระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าวดังนี้ ‘เพื่อเกียรติ เขาได้ส่งเรามายังชนชาติต่าง ๆ ที่ปล้นพวกคุณ เพราะผู้ที่แตะต้องพวกคุณก็แตะต้องแก้วตาของเขา
9(2-13) For, behold, I will shake My hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them'; and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
9เพราะเราจะโบกมือเหนือพวกเขา แล้วพวกเขาจะตกเป็นของปล้นให้แก่ผู้ที่เคยรับใช้พวกเขา พวกคุณจะรู้ว่าพระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพส่งเรามา
10(2-14) 'Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
10จงร้องเพลงและยินดีเถิด ธิดาศิโยน! เพราะเรากำลังมาและจะอยู่ท่ามกลางเธอ’ พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
11(2-15) And many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day, and shall be My people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee'; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
11ในวันนั้น หลายชนชาติจะเข้าร่วมกับพระยาห์เวห์และจะเป็นผู้คนของเรา เราจะอยู่ท่ามกลางเธอ และเธอจะรู้ว่าพระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพส่งเรามาหาเธอ
12(2-16) And the LORD shall inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
12พระยาห์เวห์จะรับยูดาห์เป็นส่วนมรดกของพระองค์ในแผ่นดินศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และจะเลือกเยรูซาเล็มอีกครั้ง
13(2-17) Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for He is aroused out of His holy habitation.
13ผู้มีเลือดเนื้อทั้งหลาย จงเงียบต่อหน้าพระยาห์เวห์ เพราะพระองค์ลุกขึ้นจากที่พำนักอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์แล้ว!”
