1Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are smitten down with wine!
1禍哉！ 以法蓮 的酒徒， 住在肥美谷的山上， 他們心裏高傲， 以所誇的為冠冕， 猶如 將殘之花。
2Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, as a storm of hail, a tempest of destruction, as a storm of mighty waters overflowing, that casteth down to the earth with violence.
2看哪，主有一大能大力者， 像一陣冰雹， 像毀滅的暴風， 像漲溢的大水， 他必用手將 冠冕 摔落於地。
3The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under foot;
3以法蓮 高傲的酒徒， 他的冠冕必被踏在腳下。
4And the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be as the first-ripe fig before the summer, which when one looketh upon it, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
4那榮美將殘之花， 就是在肥美谷山上的， 必像夏令以前初熟的無花果； 看見這果的就注意， 一到手中就吞吃了。
5In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of His people;
5到那日，萬軍之耶和華 必作他餘剩之民的榮冠華冕，
6And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn back the battle at the gate.
6也作了在位上行審判者公平之靈， 並城門口打退仇敵者的力量。
7But these also reel through wine, and stagger through strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel through strong drink, they are confused because of wine, they stagger because of strong drink; they reel in vision, they totter in judgment.
7就是這 地的 人也因酒搖搖晃晃， 因濃酒東倒西歪。 祭司和先知因濃酒搖搖晃晃， 被酒所困， 因濃酒東倒西歪。 他們錯解默示， 謬行審判。
8For all tables are full of filthy vomit, and no place is clean.
8因為各席上滿了嘔吐的污穢， 無一處 乾淨 。
9Whom shall one teach knowledge? And whom shall one make to understand the message? Them that are weaned from the milk, them that are drawn from the breasts?
9譏誚先知的說 ： 他要將知識指教誰呢？ 要使誰明白傳言呢？ 是那剛斷奶離懷的嗎？
10For it is precept by precept, precept by precept, line by line, line by line; here a little, there a little.
10他竟命上加命，令上加令， 律上加律，例上加例， 這裏一點，那裏一點。
11For with stammering lips and with a strange tongue shall it be spoken to this people;
11先知說 ：不然，主要藉異邦人的嘴唇 和外邦人的舌頭對這百姓說話。
12To whom it was said: 'This is the rest, give ye rest to the weary; and this is the refreshing'; yet they would not hear.
12他曾對他們說： 你們要使疲乏人得安息， 這樣才得安息，才得舒暢， 他們卻不肯聽。
13And so the word of the LORD is unto them precept by precept, precept by precept, line by line, line by line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
13所以，耶和華向他們說的話是 命上加命，令上加令， 律上加律，例上加例， 這裏一點，那裏一點， 以致他們前行仰面跌倒， 而且跌碎，並陷入網羅被纏住。
14Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scoffers, the ballad-mongers of this people which is in Jerusalem:
14所以，你們這些褻慢的人， 就是轄管住在 耶路撒冷 這百姓的， 要聽耶和華的話。
15Because ye have said: 'We have made a covenant with death, and with the nether-world are we at agreement; when the scouring scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood have we hid ourselves';
15你們曾說： 我們與死亡立約， 與陰間結盟； 敵軍 如水 漲漫經過的時候， 必不臨到我們； 因我們以謊言為避所， 在虛假以下藏身。
16Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a costly corner-stone of sure foundation; he that believeth shall not make haste.
16所以，主耶和華如此說： 看哪，我在 錫安 放一塊石頭作為根基， 是試驗過的石頭， 是穩固根基，寶貴的房角 石 ； 信靠的人必不着急。
17And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.
17我必以公平為準繩， 以公義為線鉈。 冰雹必沖去謊言的避所； 大水必漫過藏身之處。
18And your covenant with death shall be disannulled and your agreement with the nether-world shall not stand; when the scouring scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it,
18你們與死亡所立的約必然廢掉， 與陰間所結的盟必立不住。 敵軍 如水 漲漫經過的時候， 你們必被他踐踏；
19As often as it passeth through, it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night; and it shall be sheer terror to understand the message.
19每逢經過必將你們擄去。 因為每早晨他必經過， 白晝黑夜都必如此。 明白傳言的必受驚恐。
20For the bed is too short for a man to stretch himself; and the covering too narrow when he gathereth himself up.
20原來，床榻短，使人不能舒身； 被窩窄，使人不能遮體。
21For the LORD will rise up as in mount Perazim, He will be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon; that He may do His work, strange is His work, and bring to pass His act, strange is His act.
21耶和華必興起，像在 毗拉心山 ； 他必發怒，像在 基遍谷 ， 好做成他的工，就是非常的工； 成就他的事，就是奇異的事。
22Now therefore be ye not scoffers, lest your bands be made strong; for an extermination wholly determined have I heard from the Lord, the GOD of hosts, upon the whole land.
22現在你們不可褻慢， 恐怕捆你們的綁索更結實了； 因為我從主－萬軍之耶和華那裏聽見， 已經決定在全地上施行滅絕的事。
23Give ye ear, and hear my voice; attend, and hear my speech.
23你們當側耳聽我的聲音， 留心聽我的言語。
24Is the plowman never done with plowing to sow, with the opening and harrowing of his ground?
24那耕地為要撒種的， 豈是常常耕地呢？ 豈是常常開墾耙地呢？
25When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the black cummin, and scatter the cummin, and put in the wheat in rows and the barley in the appointed place and the spelt in the border thereof?
25他拉平了地面， 豈不就撒種小茴香， 播種大茴香， 按行列種小麥， 在定處種大麥， 在田邊種粗麥呢？
26For He doth instruct him aright; his God doth teach him.
26因為他的上帝教導他務農相宜， 並且指教他。
27For the black cummin is not threshed with a threshing-sledge, neither is a cart-wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the black cummin is beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
27原來打小茴香，不用尖利的器具， 軋大茴香，也不用碌碡； 但用杖打小茴香， 用棍打大茴香。
28Is bread corn crushed? Nay, he will not ever be threshing it; and though the roller of his wagon and its sharp edges move noisily, he doth not crush it.
28做餅的 糧食 是用磨磨碎， 因它不必常打； 雖用碌碡和馬打散， 卻不磨它。
29This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts: Wonderful is His counsel, and great His wisdom.
29這也是出於萬軍之耶和華－ 他的謀略奇妙； 他的智慧廣大。
